Only took a few casts in the stormwind canal to find my baby crocolisk quest item https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=34864.

On handing in I was delighted to get my very own baby crocolisk https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=35350. He is small and squeaks. Its a random drop in the quest reward bag.
Its one of 4 pets baby crocs:
Chuck, Muckbreath, Toothy and Snarly.

My first bag held a little over 6G, 5 sharp hooks (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=34861), and a lvl 70 fillet knife (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=34859). Nothing really cool yet, but I'm looking forward to doing these quests every day.

I posted the below on the other Bag of Fishing Treasures page (for some reason there's two). There's a little more info in it than the above post.

Each Bag of Fishing Treasures contains around 7g (increased since 14 February), a regular treasure, a minor or junk item, and rarely a "notable" treasure.

There are two regular treasures, one of which seems to always be found in each Bag of Fishing Treasures:

1-3 Elixir of Water Walking
"Allows you to walk across water for 10 minutes." Classified as a Guardian Elixir. Requires level 24 to use.

4-6 Sharpened Fish Hook
Like the Aquadynamic Fish Attractor, it requires a fishing skill of 100+ and lasts 10 minutes.

If you do not already know the Find Fish (pool tracking) ability, it is possible to get a Weather-Beaten Journal as a reward.

Notable treasures are far less common:
(The majority of Bags of Fishing Treasures will not contain any of these items)

Bucket Pets:
Baby crocolisk non-combat pets.
Chuck's Bucket, Muckbreath's Bucket, Snarly's Bucket, and Toothy's Bucket.

Eye of the Sea
Unique-equipped blue gem, giving +15 stamina.

Recipe: Captain Rumsey's Lager
The recipe allows the cook to make Captain Rumsey's Lager, which when consumed, increases fishing skill by 10 for 3 minutes. This skill bonus stacks with existing bonuses from lures and gear. That means the maximum possible effective fishing has risen from 527 to 537. The lager requires a Skin of Dwarven Stout and a Flagon of Mead to brew 5 drinks. The lager's raw materials are all purchased from vendors, at a cost of about 16s each. The recipe requires a cooking skill of 100 to learn, and binds when picked up.

Spun Truesilver Fishing Line
The line is used in the same way as High Test Eternium Fishing Line: Apply it to a fishing pole to permanently give that pole an extra +3 bonus to fishing skill. Spun Truesilver Fishing Line does not stack with High Test Eternium Fishing Line. Apply one or the other.

Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat
Cloth hat which gives a +40 Stamina bonus, +40 Spirit bonus, and +5 to fishing skill (changed 27 February). It is used thus: "Attach a lure to your equipped fishing pole, increasing Fishing by 75 for 10 minutes (10 minute cooldown)". In effect, a reusable +75 lure, with the same fishing skill bonus as the Lucky Fishing Hat. The hat binds when picked up.

The 2 Ring is rumored to be found within a Bag of Fishing Treasures.

Valuable minor/junk items include:

Ancient Coin - Sells to vendor for 25 gold.
Gold Wedding Band
Noble's Monocle/url]
Antique Silver Cufflinks - Sells to vendor for over 11 gold.
Beautiful Glass Eye - Sells to vendors for 18 gold.
1-3 Jaggal Pearl
1-4 Mote of Water
Shadow Pearl
Silver Statuette - Sells to vendor for 15 gold.

There are probably a lot of other less valuable minor/junk items found in the bag. For instance, I got the fillet knife in my first bag which sold for around 4G.

there's a reason for the double entry of this item... it's still a bit early to say it for sure but:

the two bags are rewards from different quests... most of fishing daily awards the other bag, while "Crocolisks in the City" awards this one.

the two bags have differente drops, in fact, only this one awards the baby crocolisks (non-combat pets) Chuck's Bucket,Muckbreath's Bucket, Snarly's Bucket, and Toothy's Bucket.

seems like developers wanted to be sure that u can have a little crocolisk companion only after you catch one in stormwind / orgrimmar...

So to get your Baby Crocolisk is basically a 4% chance of getting a random crocolisk from a quest that you can take an average of once every 5 days. So the average person will take about 125 days to be able to get one. Pretty rare pet. I have done the fishing quest every day since the patch and got the croc today.

I must be terribly lucky. Did this on 3 of my 70's. First one just got lures and motes of water. Second one got Toothy. and the third one got Muckbreath AND the 2 ring. Sold it for a decent profit :). Since then gotten the truesilver line and recipe, but no hat yet :(. Patiently waiting tho :) this quest has been good to me.

Sell them, as you said there's no point in keeping a stash of lures (beyond one, if you haven't the hat yet)

Has anyone managed to get more than one croc on the same character? I never have, hoping it's just bad luck.

It's even possible to get the same pet drop twice. Muckbreath dropped for me a second time. That is bad luck!

Please note that all the items that come out of this bag are not labelled as 'Unique' so it IS possible to get 'repeat' drops of items you already have.

Case in point: I already own the Fishing Hat, and have gotten it multiple times out of other bags. Vendored them. They are all soulbound as is the bag so you can't trade or sell them to other players or transfer across your account.

Has anyone received one of these pets from the fishing daily since the expansion came out? I have an alt that has all 4 of the corcs but have been trying to get it on my main and hadn't seen anyone get them since wraith came out.

Note that it is possible to get multiple rare items from the same bag - I was lucky enough to just open one with Toothy, the hat, 6 hooks and 3 Jaggal Pearls.

I just got a second Snarly. As has been said, the bags are soulbound, as are the crocs. You can't even sell them to a vendor. Everyone in my guild hates me because they've been trying to get ANY croc for about a year or so now, and I have two that I can't give away. ><

The drop rate on the baby crocs appears to have been significantly increased in the 3.2 patch. After one person in my guild got the croc, 11 others immediately went and did the daily and 9 out of the 11 received croc pets. That kind of rate, even in such a small sample, has an incredibly low chance of happening if the drop rates were not increased.

Since Blizzard mentioned on the forums a few months ago that they were unhappy with the rarity of these pets, I suspect this is a purposeful change and not a bug.

Been checking this daily every day. It finally came around to being the crocs in the city quest, not just once, but 3 days in a row, and three times in a row, I've gotten a pet. Once Muckbreath, twice toothy. Did they increase the drop rate or am I just lucky?

Since the drastic increase in the droprate of the vanity pets, I have received the 3/4 remaining pets in 3 successive turn ins of this quest.

I have Muckbreath & Snarly. I was quite surprised to get them though. My main is a pet collector so I was quite happy to obtain them,however, I see The 2 Ring is an upgrade (as recommended from Wowarmory) so hoping for that next!.. then I'll gladly take the other 2 pets..

Got 6.53.77G, Rusted Lock worth 1.7G, and 5 sharpened fish hooks, good for +100 buff to fishing pole. No gold for completing quest, the gold was in the bag.

3 jaggal pearls 7g and 6 100 fishing lures called sharpened fish hook for me.

First day this day came out I picked up the quest and waited to do it till the next day. The next day I loged in to do the quest I hearthed turned it in got the bag and inside was a BoE blue +15stam gem its really nice and for taking 10 mins to do I would say do it every day.

Did it twice, in total I got about 15g, a few grays, a white dagger, some hooks and Chuck's Bucket. Such a fun quest, doesn't take long to complete it and any level fisher can do it.

today i was fishing and i got a bad ass fishin hat from the bag. it was a cloth headpiece with +40 stam and spirit, increases fishing by 5 and a 10 min cooldown use ability to attach a +75 fishing lure. never gonna have to buy lures ever again. WOOT!

ive done the fishing daily on and off and so far ive gotten: chuck, toothy, spun truesilver fishing line, gold wedding band, weather beaten fishing hat, 2 noble's monacles and the captain rumseys recipe. along with a bunch of greys and fishing lures. i think its pretty exciting because you can always get a pet or just a fillet knife lol
