Does anyone know which does more total dps, a bow with 93.3dps and 32 RAP, or 73.3dps while procc'd with 250RAP (Don Santos')? If anyone has done the math I'd love to know, thanks.

No one else mentioned it, but interestingly enough in S3 this was the first arena bow. There was no bow before it in S1 and S2, only crossbow.

Someone above stated this is the best bow even for PVE until Archimond's and Illidian's bow, what about https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=34892#comments ? Even more specific how about for a Survival hunter? I am getting close to the rating for this bow but also badges for the Crossbow and even tho I spec Marks for Arena but I stay Surv for everything else and all of the rest of my gear/ enchants/ gems reflect that. So... anyone have numbers to show which bow is better for PVE for a surv hunter?

Well, Since S4 is now out this bow has had its price reduced from 3750 to 3000 points and the Rating has changed from 1850 to 1800

It's not going to be that easy to get this bow. U not only have to have arena pts, but also an 1850 personal rating to purchase it.

Getting a personal rating of 1850 to buy this bow is not nearly as easy as most of you seem to think it is. Not to mention the 3,750 Arena points as well.

As long as these weapons require ratings like this, only the best players (who are fortunate enough to be on well-performing teams) will get their hands on them and that will only be after weeks or months of winning arena matches.

Getting these rated items (especially the 2,000 rating shoulders) will be a lot like raiding.

You'll need exceptional gear.
You must be a top performer at your class.
You must know your role well and be able to adapt to all possible situations.
You need a supporting cast that is just as good if not better.
You'll have to commit a ton of time and effort.

The "10-games-a-week" teams will not be using these weapons.

must say, as a raider I'm happy these items got a personal rating requirement. Keeps the PvP weapons in the hands o the PvP-ers, and not just anyone lazy enough to do the before mentioned 10 games a week.

though it's still a bit sad there's no new modelling on most weapons and armor, making it on certain occasions damn hard to tell if it's raiding gear or arena.

Then again, in the T5 and above instances, Blizz seems to have run out of armor, so they just shamelessly copy the tier 5 models and repaint them, which looks incredibly lame.

Once you get your rating of 1850 and start using the bow, if your rating falls below 1850 at any time, are you then unable to use the bow till you get your rating back up?

Its easy just save your arena points till next season. You'll be able to get the bow and shoulders at a discount price. I doubt there will be a rating requirement for last season gear.

Just to clear things up...

1) PVP gear is for PVP...resilence and a ton of stamina don't help you drop mobs in PVE any faster while they're ass raping your tank.

2) PVE gear does jack squat in PVP...yer 5000 attack power means zip if you die before a four second stun is over.

3) Top tier PVP gear SHOULD be for the top tier players. Just like any other item in the game that is any good...top tier PVP items require a team working together for a goal. This is, after all, a MULTI player game.

4) Thanks Blizzard...for making a bow and a gun available for season three. Glad my 1000 posts in the forums talked some sense into you.

PvPers get knocked all the time because "it somehow easier"

Bul@#$%, its extremely hard to keep a high enough team rating to get the points for this as well as keep the individual rating high enough.

Just like if you dont raid for x amount of hours you wont get the drops you want because both raiding and arena take a great deal of time.

My goodness there is a load of crap on this page. Here are the simple facts:

If you think it's EASY to get and 1850 rating for this bow then I urge ANY of you to link me an armory profile and show me just one scrub who has this bow, and if you can I will personally kiss your ass. Why? Because you don't get above a 1700 rating (let alone 1850/2000) without being a good PVPer who knows how to play their class and how to win. You don't get a 1700+ rating by playing 10 games a week in your S1 gear that you farmed by AFK'ing in AV, or wearing your raiding gear in arena for fun, you need to have a shedload of resilience, you need to be fully geared with proper PVP gear and you need to be in a team who knows how to play and take on any/all class combinations.

Even if a scrub could make it close to the rating you'd need for this bow, they'd drop like a bag of turd off thrown a cliff while being stunlocked by a S3 rogue as your partner is chain cycloned/rooted by a S3 druid, for example.

This bow is for the ELITE of PVPers. S3 gear is T6/BT/Hyjal equivalent, and just like getting to those raids you have to be the top of your class to get them.

People think PVP gear is easy to get, and yes, to be honest S1 and S2 are piss easy. You can sit there in AV on and off for a week and have all of the S1 gear. Or you can play 10 arena games a week and build up an S2 set over a few months. You can even do that now and get four of the S3 bits.

But to get the weapons, or the shoulders, you have to be elite. It's as simple as that. And I encourage anyone to prove me otherwise.

hmmm...I just started a 3vs3 with an imba warrior and priest their 2vs2 has a rating of 2k and we arent doing that bad in 3vs3, you dont see that setup much warrior-hunter-priest its quite nice to play with it. we boosted the rating to 1700 in 2 days and i hope we will get a rating of 1850. it isnt difficult to get 1850 tbh but 2k is impossible. but the fact is it doesnt take as much time as raiding tbh, I play about 3 hours a day and its easy to achieve this.

I totally agree with akra. like everyone has the same gear, it isnt even fun to inspect someone anymore with pvp gear:P
since the christmas break of 2 weeks, in wich every nabcake can get enough honor to buy the season 1 epics and s3 honor items, I noticed my gear is not rare anymore (got 2 pieces s1, 2 pieces s2 and 1 piece s3). Blizzard should make it impossible to save points too, noobs who are saving true s2 to get s3 gear that isnt fun either.
Although everyone can have the same gear, it takes skill to take players down and that's the way blizzard should reward us.

One comment as a former raider, everyone talks about the differences between the two types of playing (PvE vs PvP) but I will say this: for the PvP gear it takes people the time to grind out the games and maintain a good rating, for the PvE gear, even a scrub can join a good end game guild and get geared. I saw it happen a lot and then people just /gquit and roll off with the best gear.
