This information is correct, Although the rate upon which you can receive this item is low. Out of 20 times i have /kiss the revealer's (Both sexes) I only received this item 2 times.

When you cast it on yourself or an ally, it'll be a buff. But when you cast it on an enemy, it'll be a debuff.

Also, these have a duration, of (I think) 10 days.

I saved maybe 100 of these in my mail and bounced them back and forth for the past year.
Now when I try to take them from th mail i disconnect and reset back to where was 2-3 minutes before and the stack of flakes I tried to remove have disappeared fom the mail.
Happened with tricky treats as well. So beware not sure if it will happen with this years flakes.
Sidenote just before I did this I pulled out the recipe to make the winter boots from the mail and after reset I still had one in my bag and a new reset one in mail. 12s 50c gain for me!

In case anyone was wondering, the use of these on someone does break stealth. Tried it out just now with a rogue, so no sneak behind someone, hit them with it, then expect to walk away as easily if you're in PvP.

No sneaking into Org or Stormwind, sorry. :P

This year Handful of Snowflakes can NOT be sent by mail. Hence, you can't rely on alts to get the appropriate number to complete the achievement.

I had some trouble working out where the Winter Reveler's were, so I'm gonna post this here to help some more people who also didn't know where the hell they were.
They are (race) commoners found in inns. They look exactly the same. You should see a sprig of misteltoe above the doorway where they stand. Target one of them, and /kiss. You will then receive either mistletoe, holly or a handful of snowflakes. Make sure you have enough room in your bags or you cant receive the item. You get a debuff that stops you receiving items from kissing them from another hour, even if you received no items because your bags were full.

Recently I've been /kissing the revelers under the misltoe in both Org, and in Dalaran, and haven't been receiving anything. I'm wondering if anyone knows why this is, or is having the same problem. I've gotten two stacks of 5 before, and am one away from having Let it snow! And my bags are empty. Just curious :)

The handful of snowflakes are conjured items, this is the reason why you can't set them into the guildbank. Just try with some mage food, it won't work. You will get the message: "You cannot store conjured items in the guildbank". It is the same with the handful of snowfalkes.

To get the snowflakes you have to /kiss a winter reveler. There is a lot of places to find these, I kissed them in Ironforge. If you would like to find the winter revelers in ironforge just go to the second house to the left when you enter Ironforge. Not the reagent shop (Barim's reagents) but the tavern (stonefire tavern). There is some Christmas decorations over the door so it shouldn't be to hard to spot. When you enter the tavern you should spot them preety early.

You need the snowflakes for the achievement let it snow You will need 10 of them to complete the achievement, and it is 1/3 Chance to get them when you /kiss the winter reveler. Yes, you need let it snow for the tittle/achievement merrymaker. The achievement let it snow gives 10 achievement points, and merrymaker gives 10 achievement points.

K you want the secret. Only kiss the reveler if they say "Seasons greetings, and peace to you!". YOu will get snowflakes everytime. If they don't say it keep talking to them until they do. You can thank me later. Send gold to lolyra. :)

Also I've noticed that when kissing the males you get snowflakes and kissing the ladies give you mistletoe. For me atleast=)

I agree with GwenEira, I have done this 4 times and all 4 times I got fresh holly.
not a 100% guarantee that this advice will work.

Logging on to multiple alts finally got me my second handful needed for the achievement, but even still I only got two handfuls in three days of trying.

It's completely random when NPCs will give the snowflakes and has nothing to do with what they say. Notice if you talk to the same NPC several times in a row they have three or four different display messages.

I got one stack (5 handfuls) off a the female reveler in org as a Male Belf, and one handful from the female reveler in Sylvanaar (Blades Edge Mountains) as a female Undead. - And yes, revelers are neutral so even as horde I could talk to the revelers in an alli town.

OK listen up yes you do get them from guys in the inns. But I know how to get them for sure. Talk to both of them the one that doesn't say Ah Mistletoe is the one that when you kiss them will give you the snowflakes

Not totally true. Just tried blowing a kiss to a reveler of the same sex and all I got was some fresh holly. Maybe its just a chance no matter the sex of the reveler.

You have to blow kisses at the Winter Revelers underneath mistletoe (usually in inns)...not the Commoners out in the streets.

I have been getting these alot (I rather the mistletoe because of the +20 to sprit buff).
Something I find great is to watch somebody ride by, time it right and the snowball will streak like a homing mistle to them... it weaves in and around building and trees... looks funny as heck.

ok im gonna tell you how to look like you are going to get hit by a heat seeking snow ball it looks as cool as can be.

step one: get any player "preferably one who is somewhat smart" with 1 or more handful of snowflakes.

step two: get any speed mount preferably a 60% spped for the best effect at 100% you go waaaaaay to fast and thus ruin the effect but it is still ok to use.

step three:while on your 60% or 100% increase mount run past your buddy and he should have the signal to throw the handful of snowflakes at you while you are on the mounted and running very close to the buddy.

step four: get a snack of your choice or drink to celebrate

editors note: i have experienced the effect and whitnessed it so i have actually done it.

2023 December, wotlk classic release version, talking to the revelers gives you dialogue indicating what that reveler will give when /kiss, I have tested it two times, both revelers dialogs when I spoke to them said "ahh, mistletoe..." and when I /kiss them they both gave mistletoe, I will do more testing to see if this is actually true or just a huge coincidence, but if true, this could help you choose what revelers to /kiss to get the specific achievement based items you need much sooner and less rng based

If you're on a classic server where 99% of the population is your same faction here is an easy way to snag the opposite faction toons.

Go to their respective starting zone area and log off. Then create the race/class combo you need and walk it over to where you logged off. Then Alt-F4 out. Immediately log back in onto your main. Your freshly created character should still be lingering around for about 20 seconds from the ALT-F4 so do this fast enough and you can tag it.

Unfortunately if you're Alliance and need an Orc Death Knight you'd need to complete starting quest chain first. So better hope you see one in Dalaran.
