Can Bloodfin Catfish actually be caught in the waters outside Zul'Aman (Ghostlands), as suggested in the map? I spent a little time fishing in the pools and fountains there, but didn't catch any.

Outside Karazhan in Deadwind Pass, from my experience, the fishes that is usful to fish there is Bloodfin Catfish, Crescent-Tail Skullfish, Lightning Eel and Barbed Gilltrout.

So if you want fish for Skullfin Soup, Stormchops and Broiled Bloodfin, which is three of the rare recipes from Outland Cooking daily, this is where to fish.

I'd like to confirm that I found the Catfish in Deadwind pass, near the middle of the map in the stream. Took me 11 tries tho, but it's there. Hope this helps.

Was paid to farm this. Went to Deadwind just outside of Khara at about 53.0, 73.4.

Easy catch, third cast picked one up. By cast six I had two.
440 Fishing (+25 fishing)

Edit: Have since returned, used one 10 min lure and in that time caught 9 Bloodfin, 14 Gill Trout, 6 Skullfish, and 3 Lightning Eel. The Bloodfin sell for 100g on this server. Easy money.

I can concur with the river outside Kara, I fished 10 Baubles using a +20 rod and a skill of 280. I found every place I could stand and fish along the river, received 13 skill points and 148 fish mostly Barbed Gill Trout. I did catch all of the other fish mentioned here in the posting.

I went to Deadwind Pass around 43,28 and fished for 10 minutes:

23 Barbed Gill Trout
6 Crescent-tail Skullfish
4 Bloodfin Catfish
7 Lightning Eel

Fished Deadwind pass at about 42.9, 29.1 (near top of map where water starts. Easy to get to. Enter from Duskwood, cross bridge, go left down trail. Only one mob (I think a lvl 55) on the way down. Nothing while standing there fishing.

In about 20 mins:

46 Barbed Gill Trout
7 Lightning Eel
8 Crescent Tailed Skullfish
12 Bloodfin Catfish

My fishing is maxed with Kasakala (spelling?) pole and fishing hat lure (about 525 total I think).

Usage: Cooking: Broiled Bloodfin (restores 4320 health over 30 sec, 20 Stamina and Spirit for 30 min, requires level 55). The recipe is sometimes contained within the Barrel of Fish - the reward for Rokk's daily cooking quests. These quests start on the northern side of Shattrath. You may need to complete several quests before gaining the recipe.

I only caught 2 of these out of 26 fish outside Kara. You mostly get barbed gill trout.
