maybe he/she comes from a server on which he/she did this quest where no alliance bothered doing it as its a non-combat pet.

furthermore, probably asked in chat and was ether led blind/astray by other silly players purposley misleading him/her

At the end of the quest there is a level 65 elite. I soloed this as a level 66 warrior. Be aware to not attack anything that Skywing didn't pull, or else he will go on without you. :D

In 2.4 it seems to have been reduced to Level 1. Still a neat reward though, even if Miniwing's flapping can drive you bonkers.

I also believe this is a Jimi Hendrix reference, and the ilvl might be for the song "If 6 was 9" - 96.

Far fetched? Maybe, just seems out of order seeing as most other pets have ilvl 1 or 20.

i look for him for quite a while to get a few more pets and found him at 53, 72, hes a big white bird on the floor, if your having problems finding turn on low lvl quest tracking if it isnt already on.

At level 96, Miniwing is by far the hardest Companions in the game. Great for main tanking Lich King, but don't think about getting loot, I hear he is a ninja.

The quest to get Miniwing is obtained from Skywing, who roams the Bone Wastes near the infested Treants. If you go almost directly south of Allerian Stronghold and due east of Auchindoun you should find him in the hills, just flying around.

The quest is easy until you get to the "boss" of the quest, who is a gold elite who will spawn after you've followed Skywing around for a bit. Some may be able to solo this quest, but I needed the help of a hunter friend (I am a Holy priest).

Make sure to keep your back to the wall during most of these fights! The oracles and boss do knockback damage.

I did this at 70 while farming the spiders.
I'm a holy priest, with a set of green/blue dmg gear (about +350).

You can let the bird do the most fighting, help him out only with SW:P and wand if possible to conserve mana. When the boss comes out, pop a shield, let the bird do a bit of dmg while you position yourself with your back to the treetrunk (avoiding knockback off the tree), and just dps him down like crazy. DON'T FORGET your Shadowfiend! He's your best friend. =)
Heal wise it took about 2 shields and 2 renews + 1 flash heal i beleive.

It would've been cake with 2 ppl.

The knockbacks are a drag, but what I did was pull all of the baddies over to the bridges, because you can't be knockeded off the sides of the bridges.

I solo'd the Boss for this quest as a 65 Feral Druid. Started in Cat form for some early DPS then switched to Bear for the rest, only had to drop out for heals once. Easy really.

I tried to do this twice, both times it bugged and Skywing just sat on one of the balconies up a tree and refused to move an further.

as long as you start killing the guy below before the bird jumps off the platform he will continue on with the quest afterward.

While this does need a fix there is a simple work-around. Kill the mobs on the lower level before skywing gets to them. The glitch seems to be that he agros on them from the higher platform and can't path back up to the upper platform after killing them.

It took me several tries to get this right. I finally cleared the lower platform and then started the quest. Alternatively have a friend keep that lower platform clear for you.

It was a lot of trial and error but miniwing was worth it.

Quest was really easy with a warlock,i was flying back 2 shat on my flyer when i saw this guy.Me and my friend thought it would be easy and it was.The only problem is when he jumps down the platform he stands still so u have 2 kill mobs there before he does.Also my friend left him while i was killing 2 mobs and he nearly died.As for elete hes not even a boss!He was so easy 2 dps down.

my miniwing dissapeared from my inventory. thinking i put it in my bank to save bag space, i checked there. i never found my precious Miniwing, i think he might be bugged. If this happened to you (it may not have due to everyone saying that this has been perminent for them) please report this for the sake of our future Minwings, thank you

Just completed the quest as a lv65 demonology lock with a help of a 65 rogue.Didn't realize how simple it actually was.I guess I could've soloed but anyway,I advise bring a friend or solo at 66+.Enjoy the pet :)
