I choosed 2x 8 strength and a shifting nightseye
I added a +30 sta/+10 agi armor kit on it.

I find them nice. they provide hit rating, wich is imo better than crit.

for a Feral, definitly better than assassination leggings who provide no strength at all

Believe it or not I got my hands on these before Assassination Leggings. 35+ runs in Shadow Labs and no Assassination leggings have dropped. It took me 40+ Mech runs to get my Tunic. No joke. It's very frustrating.

These are not bad pants at all, but comparing the Epic status vs a blue drop off an easy instance is the problem. These should probably be buffed a bit more.

The difference between these and the Assassination Leggings are marginal at best. There's one thing people forget and that is having gem slots to meet meta gem requirements. These do help with that. Some meta gems, like the brutal earthstorm have tough requirements. I know you can use purple, orange, etc.. gems to meet the requirements more easily...but those gems aren't really that great. Unless of course you get some PVP gems or some nice rare/heroic drops.

I was basically going for +Sta when comparing these pants, although I've done all possible combinations with enchants and different gems. Like I said above, the difference is marginal at best. Diff combinations of gems and the two leg armor enchants and there are many possibilities w/the Midnight Legguards.

The only real difference w/this combination is .31 hit rating and dodge. I personally love +hit, but this combination does not bother me one bit. I gain 60 more HP, a few AP and a little more crit. No big deal really, but it suits me just fine.

Besides, 4 pieces of Assassination is all I need. I don't care for 5.

I would not wear the Oilcloth Breeches over these, although they are very nice pants for a guaranteed quest item.

Dropped for me tonight from Quagmirran in Heroic Slave Pens.

They're an on par/slight downgrade for AP and crit chance from my original leggings; https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=30257 Shattrath Leggings. Socketed them up with 2 x 16 AP red gems and a Str/Stam blue gem.

In terms of a Feral Druid - socketed right, these babies are not bad at all - but the best thing?

They're hot looking.

I'm honestly sick of looking like I fell out of a seconds clothing bin when I'm in my feral gear.

the X-52 pilot leggings seem to be as good this.

it has no stam/ap
but it does lack +hit and has a LITTLE less crit.

For rogues, comparing these too Netherblade Breeches (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=29046).

Netherblade Breeches gives total:
114 AP
0.94% crit
1.39% hit
34 stamina

Now for comparison reasons use Bright Living Ruby +16 AP, Glinting Noble Topaz +4 agi & + 4 hit, Jagged Talasite +4 crit + 6 sta on Midnight Legguards that will give in total (including socket bonus):
80 AP
1.41% crit
1.33% hit
33 stamina

Basically a tradeoff between 34 AP more on Netherblade Breeches against ~0.5% crit.

Personnaly I would go for Netherblade Breeches because the 4 setbonus on Netherblade is quite ok and also it saves me about ~150 gold on gems.

I'm using this on my hunter over the demon stalker legs i banked for mostly 1 reason. With 45ap / 12crit +3 8agi gems, goes to 2.29% crit 142.4ap (saw will get buffed so even more). That crit is a lot for hunter from 1 single armor piece (although i sacrifise the mp5, i prefer more crit).

so i was having fun healing a group through heroic slave pens on ym druid right? I ws with a warrior, warlock, mage, and a hunter. I was happy cause this was the last heroic i needed for my healing necklace from badges. We down quag...these drop...i ask everyone if it is cool if i take these for feral although i am resto. Everyone said sure, its alright...the hunter rolls need as well...I know it sounds cliche, but i lost these to a hunter.

I ran SL maybe 7 times and gave up on my Assassination just because I hate SL. Then I come on my first Heroic SP run and these drop (Im a rogue..), needless to say, I was very happy

Based on my calculations as a rogue, comparing these pants to the Assassination Leggings... Using the Midnight Legguards (socketed with two bright living rubies and one shifting nightseye), you get:

+30 Health
+16 AP
+0.33% Crit
-0.06% Hit
-1.8 Dodge

The health gain and +hit loss is negligible. The crit is nice, and the AP comes out to just about 15dps more... but is it worth losing 1.8% dodge? I decided to stick with the assassination legs.

I got these and socketed them with a bunch of AP. I use these for raiding. I keep my assasination legs for soloing and dailies and stuff. the sheer ap makes these more attractive for raiding, your shoudlnt be getting hit to often anyway, and if you do, you will probably be near death anyway. shame on you you aggro ripper. as far the crit goes... meh, its negligible. ok so not neglible but.. ok i would just rather wear them for raiding haha

These leggings are better than Vanquisher's legplates, for you warriors out there. If there isnt a rogue or druid and you want to be a dps warrior, make sure you dont let them get sharded.
you get 4 crit rating and 17 hit rating for a loss of armor, 8 AP, and 6 stam. Not a big deal, Imo. Makes these better for fury AND arms dps.

So I got these on my rogue.

They are replacing Oilcloth Breeches . I socketed them with 2 +4hit/+4Agi and 1 +4Agi/+6Sta gems.

Compared to Oilcloth, ungemmed, they are only slightly better. The gem slots will help make them much better, with the right gems you have yourself a very nice upgrade. Along with the epic leg enchant (which you probably wouldn't waste on blue pants anyway) then it really shines!

Not counting the epic leg enchant because you *can* apply them to both legs...

i may be losing my mind here, but i have tested these pants over and over again with rating buster (i have tested multiple other items with rating buster and can tell you now that it is not broken) and it looks like these pants are bugged, giving me a full .5% extra crit than it should.

does anyone else notice this?

Just got these on my feral druid for his cat set on his 2nd run of SP. Due to the 2.3 patch changes to Heart of the Wild affecting all AP instead of just strength, I gemmed them with 2 x delicate living ruby (8 agi each) and 1 x shifting nightseye (4 agi 6 stam).

Compared to my previous leggings Clefthoof Hide Legs my stats change accordingly:
Lose 9 AP
Gain .82% crit
Lose 4 expertise
Gain 4 hit rating.
Gain 126 health

Im very happy with them, I got them for a crit upgrade as I have some more AP on the way in terms of crafted gear in progress.

I would like to point out that these leggings are very good for a hunter. For a BM or MM specced hunter these are the best pants to get pre-T4 from Magtheridon.

First of all, the T4 leg tokens drop from Gruul.
Just to clear things up.

Second of all, (This is from BM-hunters Point of view) for hunter I'd go for the Midnight Legguards over the Rip-flayer leggings.

Int and mp5 is nice for a hunter ofc, but capping your hit first has priority, which is 142 (9%) for lvl 73 mobs/bosses. Compared +hit, int and mp5 are secondary stats if not less. They probably come in on the third of fourth position of important stats.

There's also 8 more AP on these leggings and this covers the 1 crit rating less (0,05% crit) imo. And again, if you don't have your hit capped yet, hitrating will definetely increase your dps more than critrating.

You could socket up your Rip-flayer leggings with +Hit gems or agi/hit gems, but you would miss out on a lot of AP and Crit by not putting in crit/AP/agi gems in there.

So, if you would have capped your hit and have a big lack of mana and mp5, then I'd go for the Rip-flayer leggings, but only in this case.

Better stats on these than the T4 shaman leggings as well. I'll be using these until I get my hands on the Bow-stitched Leggings from Azgalor in Mt Hyjal, as enhancement shaman.

Bottom line:

They ARE better than Assassin Legs BUT it costs about 200G (varies on server) to get them better. I put 2 x 16AP and 1 x 4 Crit 6 Sta gems in and Cobrahide Armour.

Nice - but expensive, will last me though :D

these are defginetely better than t4 legs and generelly any legs simillar to t4 out there (fury warr)...

Only flaw is the drop rate...
I've done 10 of this heroi and it never drops...

Is it only me or are these legs also good for a fury warrior?

I started looking for some desent fury legs for KZ, I first got the AH legs. Cheap and they are fine enough. Good for a start. But then i needed something better. There is the Badge legs which takes very long time to get. Then there is the Mech legs HC. These legs are more for warriors ofc but then again. If you need hit i think The MIdnight Legguards are better and with the right sockets they are just what you need. AP, Crit and Hit. Of c does BoK not stack and AP so there you lose a deal. It's the only negative thing i can see with these legs. (And ofc the armor but tbh armor doesnt mean a &*!@, hopefully you are skilled enough not to take agro :P)

Seing these from a fury warrior PoV these are good. Atm i got Legguards of the Shattered Hand and these are a nice upgrade. However i was in doubt of the S2 leg's being better, until i did some calculations.

So, lets have a look.

While the S2 provides alot more crit, you could socket Midnight Legguards with Smooth Dawnstone x3 and thus get 51 crit rating (8*3 + 27 = 51) trasnforming into ( 51/21,1 =~ 2,3% crit, compared to S2 (43/21,1 = ~2,0% crit).

So seen from that PoV, the S2 gives 0,3% less crit but gaining 30 AP before BoK and Imp. beserker stance. You also trade 3 hit rating for 33 stamina, so tbh i would go with the S2 ones.

as a feral druid after the 3.0 nerf to heavy armor items i'm really thinking to grab a pair of these and slap 3 solid stars of elune on them

I know they're suboptimal for druid tanking but I don't really see any piece of easilly obtainable gear with such a good amount of potential stamina and threat stats (it's a little bit ironic but they have 50 more armor than heavy clefthoof leggings)

PS yes I know s2 legs can be better, but until lvl 80 I don't want to hear anymore the words "honor farming"

Turned 70 on my Kitty Druid just over a week ago, and have ran Heroic SP every day since. So far I have seen the Cloth Boots 5 times, and the Mail Shoulders 3 times, (im)patiently waiting for these to drop. I don't plan to have other Leather Wearing Melee DPS geared poorer than myself along, as I don't want competition WHEN they drop.

My luck in H Bot was much better only took 2 runs to get the Feral Staff of Lashing

Did my very first Heroic run ever tonight. Got a very good group and only wiped twice, both times because of a feared mob running in another group :(

Killed Quagmirran pretty easy, et voila, these badboys show up. So me being a rogue and the only leather wearing class in the group got the pants. And now im very freakin happy :)

These are very nice PvE leggings, and with the right gems they are also all right for PvP. They are more inclined for pve though, as their stats match that of the t4 legs.

God dammit, i did sp today, we did great, got the Quagmiran, i got really exiting when the boss died, we w8ed a little bit, and then we loot.. Argh ! the mage boots ! i got so angry...Isnt it a very low dropd rate, i didnt get it, and from all i've heard not many have gotten it.
