An interesting upgrade from the Talisman of Nightbane (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=28603). You loose a few points in stamina and intellect, but this one clearly has better damage and critical bonus.

Overall it's -3 stamina, -7 intellect, +8 spell damage, +6 spell critical score (which translates to +0.27% critical chances at level 70, but it will only be +0.18% considering the loss of intellect)

This is a nice offhand that stacks well with greatsword of horrid dreams,
the 2 together give the mage a very lethal attack,giving the mage +160 to spelldamage with just what they're holding in thier hand's pre-enchant's,get +40 spell damage enchant on the sword and were at +200 before we count the clothing we wear,haven't been able to find a better off-hand.
