Im not so sure about the drop rate, but in our guilds first attempt on The Eye it dropped 3 times before we even reached void reaver!

As of 3.0.2, this item will carry 50 spell power instead of 60 fire spell damage, making it available to many more classes.

This belt is crap for a epic, there are easily much better crafted ones and I can name a few good dropped ones that are better than this. Blizz needs to get around to fixing itemization, at least raid gear needs to be a little better than other stuff than the other way around. Makes raiding almost pointless

this belt is not crap, but is mediocre. for those mages who don't have a girdle of ruination (god forbid) or spellfire, or for a lock thinking about going destruction, I'm sure they wouldn't mind picking this up. 28 crit rating isn't something to shake a stick at.

Drops from The Eye trash. You are confusing this belt with the Inferno belt which drops from Karazhan.

i remember this, we got it from a trashmob in kara a few weeks ago.

kara isnt really considered a "raid" in my opinion, 10 man easy mode

with that said It makes good sense for the loot to not be outstanding.

The real good stuff will be in TK/Hyjal/Black temple.

Kara is pretty much like ZG was, nothing real good there.

I use this myself. To say its rubbish shows how little you know. It has excelent +fire dmg, has a big step up in crit over inferno waist cord and has some damn good stats. I could make spellfire belt if I liked, but being I use T4 gloves and shoulders for the 2 set bonus I have no need for the gloves, and the only thing that makes it worthing having the belt and gloves is the set bonus. Maybe when I get my t5 shoulders I will look at going to the full Spell fire set. But until that point this is pretty much the best belt for a fire mage I have seen.

Well I am destruction lock and was absolutley delighted to outbid all my guild's Mages for it. I lost some stam from my previous Veterans Silk belt, but I made that up elsewhere with gems.

Excellent upgrade for me from The Eye.
