For all other races on the horde that see tauren on epic kodos keep in mind that tauren's kodo's are ALOT bigger than a kodo for a troll, undead, orc, or blood elf. Before i got this mount on my troll i had the epic horse and a tauren on an epic kodo was standing next to me and he was alot bigger. I pvped until i got this mount, the black war kodo, and my troll's kodo is much smaller than the taurens. This is just the way blizzard made it but its still a nice mount thats very fast but if your just getting this mount for size and look be prepared that its much smaller on all other horde races.

I believe the size of the mount scales to the size of the rider. The troll kodo is larger than an orcs and an orcs is larger than an undead...etc. The only way to confirm is to line up two tauren one on a pvp epic and one on a regular epic.

That's just so the kodo can hold the weight of the great male Tauren ;)

(muscles weights more than fat, so I don't mean that the taurens are fat, but that they are very big and strong ;) )

u know what wouldf be awesome, and i know this comment is gonna be down rated, but im gonna say it anyways

in the next expansion, it should be called "The Black War", and be all about the war between the alliance and the horde, and finally come to an end

and their should be a new title "of the Black War" when u get all of the pvp mounts, which includes the kodo, hawkstrider, skeletal warhorse, wolf, raptor, black war mammoth, grand black war mammoth, and the talbuks

if u can do all of that, u should get a title like that in the next expansion, if we could get that now, i would only be 2 mounts away from it, the black war mammoth, and the talbuk, already got the grand black war mammoth and all fo the battleground ones, so i would prolly be the realm first cause i only need 2 more tokens for the talbuk, and 6 more stone keeper shards for the black war mammoth

so yeah, blizzard should deffinetely consider this

I've noticed that when you press spacebar when standing still the Black War Kodo makes a different noise than the normal epic kodos. More of a soft grunt or somethin.

in my opnion, this mount is very nice, but i wouldnt use it when actually in a bg, especially ab, wsg or av

its much larger than all of the other kodos and it can be very hard to get around fences, trees, etc

even a blood elf might have some trouble sometimes

so if ur in a fast paced event or something, u might wanna consider not riding this, it has to be one of the biggest epic land mounts ive seen, besides mammoths of course

This Kodo is not ANY larger than the "Great" Kodos. It is the same Kodo with different color armor.

dont even try geting pvp mounts at lvl 40.Its almost impossible to get to be an commander at lvl 40

Actually, it's true. As of the most recent patch, whichever that was, you no longer need the required reputation status for any of the faction. I'm undead and once I reach rank 11, I can attain a kodo, wolf, and raptor without having to be exalted. This only goes for the PvP mounts however.

Saying it again just to make it clear, Exalted rep is NOT needed on PvP mounts. I have all and can ride them all and I am not exalted with any of them. So save ur money, I spent 100g before figuring this out:P

requires 30 of each mark (ab av wsg) Lvl 60 and riding skill 150. that skill is the epic one and costs when honored 640g

PvP mounts (the ones that have the word war in their names) u can get without being exalted with a faction. if u are a troll u go to darkspear troll mount place and buy riding skill 150 and there ya go, u can use your kodo or wolfmount whatever.
i have done this myself so i know it works.

u can use this black war kodo even if ur not exaltd with thunder bluff anyone can use it only if u have a skill of 150 riding skill @#$%^& lol jk

This requires: A riding skill of 150, and
30 Arathi Basin, 30 Warsong Gulch, and 30 Alterac Valley marks of honor to purchase. Riding skill of 150 can be learned at the lowest of level 60. This DOESN'T require any reputation with anyone. I just got this on my orc and i doubt im even honored with thunder bluff.

AS OF: JUNE 24, 2007...xD decided to clear things up now... THIS WORKS FOR ANY PvP reward mount!

OK SO:
1) To get this mount, have:
-30 Warsong Gulch Mark of Honor
-30 Arathi Basin Mark of Honor
-30 Alterac Valley Mark of Honor
2)Go to Champions' Hall in Old Town, located in Stormwind. There will be a white portal, go through it. (This is the Alliance version of the guide, same goes for Horde though, but for Horde, go to Orgimmar and it's located in the Valley of Honor, same white portal. It's called the Hall of Legends.)

3) For Alliance, there will be a person who has the title of <Mount Vendor>. This is Lieutenant Karter. (STARGATE LOL xD) For Horde, there will be a person who has the title of <Mount Quartermaster>. This is Raider Bork.

4) Talk to the person who has the mounts; hopefully you did some research on which mount looks cooler for you xD...anyways, CAREFULLY pick and choose because the effect is irreversible!

5)So, hopefully you got the mount you wanted.

6)THIS MOUNT IS NOT FREE! Well it is, but the training sure isn't! SO:

7)YOU. MUST. HAVE. JOURNEYMAN. RIDING. SKILL. OR. HIGHER!.

8) NOT HONORED JOURNEYMAN RIDING SKILL: 600 gold.
9) HONORED JOURNEYMAN RIDING SKILL: 540 gold.

This mount also shrinks if you are any other race besides a Tauren.
If u r a Tauren it is huge, If u r a Troll/UD/BE/Orc then it is smaller.

i got a question here.
i have my mount trianing to 75 right and im saving my 600g or how ever much it is for my epic mount training, but i loooked on this page and the black war kodo for my fat tauren only requires mount training to 75, which you can get at 40. so in that case i wouldnt have to buy the training if i got the 30 marks from each bg?

My first toon was a druid and since I have no desire to play alliance she was naturally a tauren. At first I was bummed when I got my kodo at level 40. It was the uglist mount in the game to me, not to mention it APPEARED to move slower than travel form.

I'm now level 59 and have already bought my epic brown kodo. It sort of grew on me, and after creating an undead warlock I realized how truely huge and awesome kodos are.

Does it really cost 1000g? Or is the only cost the marks of honor because if it does that is a huge ripoff in the game it has no g cost here it says it costs 1000g which one is right?

NO ITS NOT 1000g. u need 30 marks from each BG, and u can get it with those. no money involved, unless u havnt gotten ur training yet. if ur exalted, its 480 gold. revered is 510, honored is 540, friendly is 570, and if ur an rtard, then nuetral with ur home faction is 600g.

I just got mine last night. I have a Blood Elf Rogue and thought they looked very cool. They *do* scale down, according to your race. Taurens stay big. However, I HATE the way this thing rides. It waddles back and forth and my Rogue bounces up and down. It looks ridiculous and it completely annoying to watch while mounted!

I am ticked that I bought this thing. I am going back for 50 more AV marks and getting the Frostwolf mount instead.
