For a Warrior, this is the natural upgrade for you over Rage Reaver, if you haven't had the chance yet to obtain Hellreaver or Warsong Howling Axe from Ramparts or Blood Furnace.

This is obtainable at 61, and the short quest chain is easily solo'able.

I wouldn't consider this a serious upgrade for a DK. If you have the axe, you're gainign marginal stats, and losing some crit. If you have the sword, your losing a good chunk of hit for the same marginal stats. And with the DK weapons looking so good (still my favorite skins to date), I sold this.

Unless your really needing that extra 20pts of damage or so, stick with the origionals till something comes along that is good enough to really drop the DK weapons for. https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=30597 is a good example, if you can actually get halaa on your fraction while your in nagrand.

I leveled so fast past it i didn't even bother. I stuck with https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=25603 i got from a quest. Not a huge upgrade from the DK weapon, but much higher dps, and i liked the look :D. If it's not your cup of tea, go for the Halaa sword. It'll carry you through to northrend easily.

All in all, the Carving Blade is better all around, but it's a very close call.

For a tank its better than Hellreaver :

Hellreaver = 7 strength (+0.08% parry), 25 crits, 5.2 DPS

Helboar Carving Blade = 6 stamina (+60 hp), 22 agility (+0.66% dodge)

And you still have you add the katana awesome look ...

This can be used by several classes. I have this on my currently 64 hunter, but I believe that fury warriors could combine this with another weapon for mad stats. Best weapon reward I found in Outland so far. I don't think it's worth the trouble for any DKs/warriors/paladins to try and get the Hellreaver, since this can be obtained easily through a ridiculously easy chain quest, and the stats have no real big difference in numbers... Yes, the Hellreaver has more strength, but no agility at all and less stamina. I'd definately go for this. Hellreaver looks awesome, yes, but this one.. It's sensei!

-- for ppl with good machines -- advanced => random hero, start... restart till you get a blademaster (which should take no more than 30secs in total)
-- for ppl with mid /poor machines -- start, build altar, train blademaster
Page Down /scroll Mouse Wheel to take a closer look at the blademaster, who should be by default red, and you will see the following:

-- Balls-of-steel necklace - Barbaric Iron Collar doesn't have the looks (we're speaking about icon), but it closely resembes it OR Wind Dancer's Pendant from the quest Avruu's Orb in Hellfire Peninsula (name fits very good to Wind Walk and the playstyle of the blademaster as of whole) OR maybe even The Savage's Choker from Halazzi;Zul'Aman (hey, it's white skulls on a rope)!

-- white-brown bracers with decorations / stitches -- Nexus-Bracers of Vigor from Nexus-Prince Shaffar;MT normal OR Berserker Bracers from the PvP rewards vendor

-- belt with white plates hanging from it -- War Paint Waistband fits just perfectly

-- some lofty red pants -- the easiest, yet close-looking, choice is the BS-crafted Thorium Leggings

-- red sandals / slippers -- oh, just buy yourself a pair of Knitted Sandals from any cloth armor vendor (couldn't find anything that matches the model)

-- the eyepoking red flag -- Jouster's Fury trinket from the tournament grounds for 10 Champion's Seals will do just fine

-- A N D (ofcourse) a sharpened Helboar Carving Blade to give it just the right finish !

Got this on my 61 hunter today, it looks exactly like Emil's Brand (i.e. totally straight two-handed Katana), just with yellow handle decoration. I love it just for the style. :)

I used this with my fury 2h spec warrior for a bit, but honestly, dueling the grunt axes from Thrall pump out more DPS for me. W/e.

The Stats were nice and the DPS seemed decent so I used this for a while to replace my Obsidian Edge Blade. After I while I realized the damage was worse and the stats didn't justify using it as my main 2h sword. I went back to Obsidian Edge Blade.

I've been using a Ice Barbed Spear for grinding, and I am willing to lose the 1 point of agility for all that extra strength and Stamina!

just go kill the guys that u need the quest to kill they never die they're lvl57s i think outside the dark portal- easy weapon skill up :P.

To those who were wondering where the screenshot was taken:

It is in an unfinished tomb by the graveyard right next to Kara. There is a door with bars on it that cannot be opened. You have to have a mage polymorph you by the door and have the sheep break while inside.

2 things.
1) This sword is awesome, like a ninja's katana.
2) If questing in Outland wen u finish the quest line this is your first natural* upgrade from the Great sword/axe of the ebon blade for DK's

*not buying 1 from the AH or having a BoE sent/traded or mailed 2 u etc.
