There are 3 different tailoring specializations. One deals with Shadowcloth, one deals with Primal Mooncloth, One deals with Spellcloth.

All tailors are able to create these just as you are able to create Mooncloth prior to the Expansion. But when you specialize in one of the 3 choices you will get 2 pieces of cloth every time you transmute instead of 1

To transmute Shadowcloth you need to be at Altar of Shadows in Shadowmoon Valley, location is 58,70.

If you don't have a flying mount, I suggest approaching the Altar from the northeast as there are far fewer mobs to avoid. Coming from the northwest puts you on a long path filled with level 68+ mobs (some elites sprinkled in) and resulted in many corpse runs for me. As a level 60 lock without an epic mount I've always gotten through without dying since i started approaching from the northeast.

Do you definitely recieve 2 shadowcloth EVERY time if you're a shadoweave specialist? Reading the comments here it would seem so, but I've just been speaking with a shadoweave tailor who said that he recieved 2xShadowcloth on three ocassions when crafting, but only 1xShadowcloth on one ocassion...

Is this guy mistaken or is the post at the top incorrect?

You should be making all 3 types of specialty cloth every 4 days. You can always trade them to get the type you want more, or you can sell them and then just purchase your desired type of cloth. It can save a LOT of time/money when you are going for your specialty tailoring set.

I am a Shadoweave tailor, I still make spellcloth and primal mooncloth every time the cooldown is up, I found two people in my guild that I trade my Spellcloth/P.Mooncloth with for Shadowcloth. It works out very nicely. It might be something to look in too if you have excess cloth, or are having trouble selling it for something else you are looking for.

2.4.2 PTR patch notes:
- All 23-hour profession cooldowns are now 20-hour cooldowns.
- All 4-day cooldowns are now 3 days, 20 hours.

Some people see the 4 day cooldown and think "Man, this sucks!" but really, its a godsend that its boe and its not that expensive at around 50g, on my server at least. Plus, many tailors don't use their cooldowns, so ask around in the guild. Even in trade channel you can probably tip 10g and they'll be more than happy to use their cooldown with your mats.I have 4 guild members who are willing to use their cooldowns for me.

since patch 3.0.8 here is no more cooldown on this, the same goes for the other special tailorings made in Outland

The co-ords are right 58, 70. But there is no longer a cooldown to make the three types of cloth, spellcloth, shadowcloth or primal mooncloth. You just need to make sure you are at the right spot.

primal mooncloth requires a moonwell
shadowcloth requires the alter of shadows
spellcloth requires that you be in netherstorm.

Can't seem to make shadowcloth at all. I'm at the Altar of Shadows yet the error says I'm not and won't let me make the damn thing. Yes of course I have the mats etc.

I made 2 trips to the altar today after getting game update, just to make sure. I don't remember reading anything about it on the patch notes, tho.

So how many Shadowcloths should you be able to make before cooldown kicks in? I made my shoulders and boots without a problem. I specialize in shadowcloth and have always been able to make all the shadowcloth I had mats for at one time. Now I need to make 13 shadowcloths which I have the mats for, and it kicks me into cooldown after each one.

Attempted this at lev 63 which was a bad idea.

First attemp I ran with a lev 69 rogue escort with ease. Decided to come back to make the shadowcloth and I forgot one mat.

Decided to come back solo (as a 63) and I died once at the altar. Rezzed at the altar and made the shadowcloth and hearthed back.

WOOT.

Ally full of lev 67 elementals.

There Altar of Shadows is in Shadowmoon Valley. If you have a flying mount it is very easy to reach and safe.

Well, I was pretty excited to finally get my tailoring to 375. I was excited to finally be able to specialize in shadow tailoring... I was really excited to be able to create my robe, boots and shoulders. And then it all became blaringly obvious that someone at blizzard needs to be shot in the @#%^ing face for deciding that only allowing us to create 2 shadowcloth per 4 days was a good idea. Well, now I can make my robe, boots and shoulders in @#%^ing 56 days! Doesn't that seem KIND OF @#%^ING RIDICULOUS? WHAT THE @#%^?

Each of the new special cloths is on a seperate 96-hour cooldown. If you specialize in one you will make 2 at the altar/moonwell/netherstorm every 4 days. The altar of shadows is in southeast Shadowmoon Valley.

All tailors can make all three kinds of cloths. However, each tailor gets two of his kind of cloth, and one of everyone elses. Mooncloth tailors get two primal mooncloths per batch of mats, but one spellcloth and one shadowcloth, etc.

u bring 1 imbued netherweave 1 primal shadow and 1 primal fire every 4 days and u get 2 shadowcloth per make.

NO DEATHS:

Follow the path until it turns directly north(63:52) at the turn, leave the path (watch agro here, most should be farmed by players, but some mobs need to be avoided), go south until (62:68) you hit the SOUTH edge of the land. Follow the land West over the bridge and into Netherwing pass, where you will almost run right into the altar(58:70).

these sets require that you have the spec of the cloth needed, and as of patch 2.1 you can now change Tailor spec without re-learning Tailoring, for a 150g fee.

25 Stamina buff for 1 hour, yes. Stacks with priest fortitude buff but not, I notice, Midsummer fire festival bonfire buff.

blizzard get a life... this item is on a 96 hour cooldown and takes hella mats to make... every last one that a person makes should be a skill up until infinity... lets see to get 25 points with a 4 day cooldown... oh only 100 days... big exploit there...

If you are doing the quest to become a Shadowcloth specialist, remember to go back to Shatt to turn in the quest then come back to the alter to make your first piece of shadowcloth so you get 2!

This has been asked by someone else before, but hasn't got a response yet, so, just to jog peoples memories.

Whats the Minimum lvl for obtaining the quests for tailoring specializaton. I'm sitting here with my 50 priest (355 tailoring) and not seeing any quests at the 3 guys next to the mana loom in Shattrath. Really would like to make it worth my while corpse hopping to the alter of shadows by bieng able to make 2 cloths at a time.

Ok when you go to the altar with all your mats and create a shadowcloth it gives you a little nice buff that increases your stam by 20 something

When u make a mooncloth u get HP/5

Spellcloth summons mobs that hit hard that drop a few motes of fire and mana

go crazy

Shadowweave tailors, recipes drop in various instances...
Pattern: Boots of Blasting
Pattern: Girdle of Ruination
Pattern: Vengeance Wrap

Frozen Shadoweave recipes are from the Lower City vendor (duh! you're a Shadowweave tailor, you already know that >_< ).

you can do these quests with any tailoring lvl, you just need 350-375 to learn the patterns.

just got 350 and also Shadoweave Tailor. if ur lock u should take shadoweave except destruction ones. Frozen Shadoweave Set is awesome for sl/sl locks. gl to all of u tht shall be shadoweave, spellfire, mooncloth tailors
