These mats seem a little much for this blade. Try something similar to Stomcaller https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=29155 (at Exalted) with Thrallmart. Stormcaller is only 205g from vendor at exalted.

You'll have to remember, by this being a dagger you've opened up the option to selling to Shaman and Priests as well. The sword is strictly mage and warlock only.

That said, I've made one of these for a guildy, and I'm working on making a second. After I put on a 40 spell damage enchant, this thing is beastly. Swordsmith/Enchanting is nice stuff. =)

Stats are being improved in the 2.1.0 patch. New stats are:

+19 Intellect
+21 Spell Critical Strike Rating
+168 bonus Damage and Healing

Looks like required mats are also being changed to:

10 Khorium Bar
4 Hardened Adamantite Bar
10 Eternium Bar
8 Primal Might
4 Primal Nether

Better for mages and locks than Stormcaller, though quite a bit more expensive to get. Still, I found it easier to just buy this than to grind all the way to exalted w/ Thrallmar to get Stormcaller.

This seems well suited to the caster that doesn't raid, but the Nathrezim Mindblade (dagger) from Prince in Kara is going to replace it. I normally avoid spending a huge ammount of gold on items I know I can obtain a replacement for. I'd get the rep sword from Kara or the mace from Lower City as a place holder of the Mindblade.

Farmed the mats for this in an afternoon with my buddy. hardest part was getting the transmutes... This thing is way to easy to get.

For my Shadow priest alt this is the perfect choice, as the blade from Prince drops rarely and main characters have priority, same deal with ZA, and heroic MgT is a pain the ass >_> Im aiming for the MgT mace from Kael, and the mats for this dagger are worth it for the certain many weeks to come until the mace drops.

I second this motion. For this Eternium Runed Blade you need:

20 EOTS marks
25,200 honor points

In comparison, for Merciless Gladiator's Spellblade - as honem kindly explained - the mats are:

20 Khorium Ores
80 Adamantite Ores
20 Eternium Ores
8 Each of Primal Water,Earth,Air,Fire & Water
2 Primal Nethers

I'm not even going to be bothered comparing the stats, but I'll just point at the fact that the Merciless Gladiator's Spellblade has an ilvl of 136, while this blade has one of ilvl 105.

If you loathe PvP and just don't want to slog through the grind of 14K or 24K honor and 20 EotS marks, this is going to be your best possible weapon pre-Kara.

Sure its only 168 dam compared to 225 dam and spell hit on Merciless Gladiator's Gavel (which has 105 durability over the 75 durability of the PvP dagger), but it's as good as non-PvP is going to get pre-T4, and the mats aren't that tough to get a hold of.

PvE upgrades would come from Prince in Kara, Gruul, and Lethoras in SSC.

Nice +damage on this dagger, and its clearly not even endgame. The caster 1h from 25man raid instances will probably have over 200 +damage.

this looks tradeable, don't know why no AH prices are listed. what's this going for? has anybody bought or sold it on AH? i would expect 1500G or thereabouts?

only two (known) daggers in the game with higher spell damage, the one from the Prince in Karazhan and of course the arena blade. the revered sword from honor hold, however, would seem much easier to get than to grind 1500G for this little guy.

I was probably drunk that day when I crafted this with the intention of using this as a Tanking weapon with my Paladin tank since I had the mats at disposal.

After a couple of unsuccessful right clicks on it (of course AFTER enchanting it with another +40 Spell damage), I realized the red color on the item and slowly read the words (also red) D-A-G-G-E-R in the tooltip.

After a couple of more unsuccessful right-clicks, it came to my mind that Paladins can not use daggers.

At least I was not so drunk when I placed it into the AH and sold it for 2300 Gold. Will probably invest it into Booze.

Even though this blade got heavily buffed in 2.1, I still wouldn't touch this with a barge pole. Prince is not that hard to get to and down and if you don't mind losing the crit the arena one is reasonably easy to get depending on if you are in a strong team or not. If you want the crit, of course, go for the arena staff or, as a temporary fix, the second boss's OH has some +crit.

You lose only 9 spell damage going for the exaulted Thrallmar/HH blade so spending that kind of money doesn't seem worth the money on a non-end game sword :/

500+ max damage
just imagine the MS crits with those things. and overpower also
everyone will have about 2-3 maybe 4x the amount of life as before since blizz wants pvp to last longer
just curious are they reworking mana also? since fights go on longer casters would run oom faster as well.

If you really want a nice dagger/sword just go for the S1 Gladiator one that is now purchasable with honor points. You'll save yourself a lot hassle with these mats, but that is just my opinion of course.

Now there is no crit on the spellblade, but let's be honest, crit is worthless now. Resilience has completely destroyed crit builds in PVP.

Also if you are raiding (even as low as Kara) there is a dagger that is MUCH nicer than this item too.

The only excuse you should have to use this over Blade of the Archmage/<Horde Equivalent> is that you can't use 1 hand Swords, and only Daggers.

To waste the money and time getting the mats for this when you can grind HH/Thrallmar rep to Exalted is ridiculous.

While the stats on this blade are very nice, Blizard have really let themselves down on the graphics. It looks like a penknife - small and dull.

Don't forget Talon of the Tempest off of Doomwalker.

Overall, this is a nice dagger if you don't raid, or have really bad luck with drops. Specifically for elemental shaman, balance druids and shadow or smite priests who don't have all that many alternatives, and who most likely have to roll against each other as well as mages/locks for the upgrades that come as drops (in most cases, the Mindblade/Talon is also an upgrade for mages and locks, who will be rolling despite the fact that they're daggers). If your guild is in good enough shape that no locks or mages need them, and you can down Prince/Doomwalker on a regular basis, then no, I wouldn't waste my time on getting this crafted. It's just a matter of time before you get better. This is mainly for the folks who are in guilds struggling with Kara, and in light of that probably also have a bit of trouble getting groups together to get Lower City rep for their Gavel.

If you're a warlock/mage, this probably isn't worth a second look at all. There are too many other options.

I play an elemental shaman. I don't have time to raid, and I don't have the stomach to live in Shadow Lab (why the heck isn't there some other way to go from Honored to Revered?). I find the honor grind tedious, and I'm not good enough for the arenas. Runesong and Starlight daggers simply refuse to drop for me. So what choice do I have?

Sure this blade is expensive, but after I got my epic flight training I found my cash just piling up. I got the mats for the +40dmg enchant, but what was I going to do, waste them on a Warpdagger? No, this blade was really my only choice, and as far as I can tell, it is currently the best non-raid caster one-hander in the game.

This is a very good item, and a lot of the previous analysis decrying this weapon as a waste is bunk.

Honestly, what is easier to get- 1000g or EXALTED with Thrallmar? If you have the time to do so many instance runs, you might as well just raid and getting something better.

Well, as shaman I can't use sword so.. I am lvl 64 and I already have 375 mining, my best m8 is Alchemist :) So the Primal Mights and all the bars will be easy as cake :) and 300-400 gold for 2x Primal Nether + a nice tip and I have this baby :P And the +40 spell dmg enchant is about 150-200 gold on my realm :) This is the best choice for me when I hit 70 :P

Why is it that the sweet craftables that Blacksmiths and pretty much any other crafting profession can make look like total crap? If someone is going to spend 1kG worth of mats on something I think Blizz could make it look cooler than a lvl 20 drop.

this blade is for casual players who haven't got the options to get the top end stuff. it may be a pain to gather all the mats, but if (like me) you take the game nice and steady, it's no big deal and you'll soon end up with a weapon that makes your trusty bringer of death look like a matchstick.

if you can do endless shattered halls runs, or have a guild with the ability to do the bigger instances or take on doomwalker, you really don't need to look at this weapon. but for people like me (a ruin lock), this weapon is the best thing since sliced bread.

While you COULD pay well over 1k gold for this, you could also just pvp for 1 weekend and get the far superior gladiator spellblade / gavel

This is still a good choice esp for a mage. The Rep sword from HH isn't really worth it now that the BG weapons are so much better. The Gladiator staff wipes the floor with both of these now, esp because of the +spell hit on it too. However, getting 27k honor isn't usually the work of a day or two despite what some folks will tell you.

Part of the problem is finding someone to make it without delusions of grandeur about how much their Nethers are worth. A couple of people on Dath Remar charge 200-250g for EACH nether.

My mage has the Mindblade (or BG staff depending) and my lock has this dagger from ages ago. Given the choices now, I would stick to the BG's for the staff if I liked pvp, raid for the Mindblade if my guild was downing Prince, or probably still get this made if I wasn't willing or able to do either of these. If I REALLY liked the HH heroics and Shattered halls I'd get the Blade of the Archmage.
