If you're level 70, you can just mount up and run away from the guards, look for a safe spot where no guards spawn and lose aggro, and then walk to the flame. The only thing that can make the quest hard is the opposite faction.

It wasn't that bad on Horde side doing this either. I just did it on my druid.

For both Stormwind and Ironforge it is advised to get to the tram as fast as possible. Dying your way through Ironforge front gates takes a long time. Stormwind was easy when I took the tram.

Stormwind you should navigate via the waterway. You shouldn't have too much trouble, plus you can sneak right up and out of sight of the majority of players who are guarding it. I just went from the tram to the nearest water and swam the whole way popping up and taking that flag.

Ironforge is straight forward, run and die. It took a lot of times dying to do that. Eventually you get there. I would take the tram and save a lot of deaths that way. There is one or two patrolling guards. They seem to both leave at the same time so it is easy to time it.

Darnassus is hard to tell. Sneaking played a big roll in me figuring it out. I snuck on the boat, and then snuck up to the fire. It's outside the town so it should be easy to get to. Hiding beneath the bridge is advisable, but make sure there are no guards walking on it first.

Last thing to be noted is that I got 4950exp from each flame I turned in and then another 4950 exp from getting the crown. A nice 20k exp benefit is a fairly good motivator for most people.

Lvl req is 50, just did this on my druid, lots of corpse running at org, TB was easy, till I fell off lol it is on the spirit rise make sure you take the elevator on the north side of the main rise, uc is very easy it is in the building above the city

yeah it was 50 and up just power lvled to get the crown before it was to late

but if your gonna take flames start uc and just run inside you cant miss it
then take tb and enter at northern elevater and run to spirit riseor else you might meet a 70 hordie or something at their AH

Org is also easy its just like mount up and run in from the bridge between barrens and org and all the guards will soon give up follow died 5 times getting all 3 flames in 47 so a 70 shouldnt have a bigger problem ^^

hella fun getting these fires from ironforge/stormwind :D. You would think they would impliment the exodar too now? Oh well :)

oddly enough, I looted the three flames from all three alliance cities, accepted the quests from the items given, turned them all in... and no Crown of the Fire Festival... Anyone else have the same problem?

I turned the quests in at Ogrimmar.

The level req. is 50, even though any level character can (in theory) steal the flame. I stole all of the flames with my 41 priest, had to wait a WHOLE year to turn it in. (70 now)

But I hope I will be the first person on my server who will get the crown this season.

Useful to know that the collecting of each flame has a cast time, so be prepared if there are lots of the opposite faction standing around.

Doing this in 2.4.2 Patch, I can confirm that the Crown is Still available, I handed in all 4 enemy city flames to get the crown, however since I handed in Exodar 2nd, I can't confirm that you only need SW/IF/Darn, or the corresponding Horde towns for Alliance, like the previous Midsummer Fire Festival.

Confirmed, you do need SMC/Exodar to complete the "series" I had all of the flames saved from last year (was too low to turn in the quest) I handed them all in, but could not get the reward, I got SMC's flame and turned that in, and I was able to receive my Crown of the Fire Festival.

Yeah, like others have said, you need the flame from all four of the opposing faction's capital cities.

One thing that makes this quest a touch easier, for paladins anyway, is that you can still get the flame even while invulnerable - if it wasn't for this, I would've never gotten it from Orgrimmar. Stupid touchy horde...

Also known as the Dwarven District, comes out in Tinker Town for Ironforge. If you click on the City if you world map I think it shows a close up of the city districts if it has them.

Did this quest as a level 47/48 priest. The only one that i had trouble with was Orgrimmar. No problem from other players, but after getting killed quite a few times getting to the flame by guards, once i finally got there it took about 7 tries to steal it as i kept triggering the guards and had to find a place around the fire where they wouldn't trigger before i finally captured it. All in all, a very fun quest, and since i never plan on playing horde, it was nice to see their main cities, especially thunder bluff. I can't trigger the quests yet, but i plan on getting to 50 before the weekend, so no problem.

Very easy quests for rogues. There were hardly any 70s around the flames, mostly lowbies. Darnassus and Exodar is just running up to the flame and pick it up as there's hardly any players in those cities. Ironforge is also rather easy to get in, easier than Stormwind if you take the front entrance...but still both are very easy.

These quests are a lot of fun, it's good to see the other faction's main cities again and while you're at it, you might as well rampage a bit and #$%^ing off other players. People go liek wut teh fak? if you run around on a frostwolf in the trade district in stormwind :')

This is the easy way to complete your Midsummer garments. However, if you want to go with the REAL look of a flaming helm, I'd recommend you grab Circle of Flame from Ambassador Flamelash in BRD!

For some reason, I haven't received the achievement even though I currently have this in my bank. I'm awaiting a reply from a GM about this, and will update when I know more.

Edit: The GM I spoke to said that because I did the quest 2 years ago, I will have to redo the achievement. Apparently, this achievement wasn't designed with older players in mind.

the reason you wont get it retroactively for having it in your bank is because a while ago the quest was easier (only required 3 cities) and it probably had a different quest ID so it was not rewardwed retroactively.

this quest should actually require lvl 60, cause u aint getting to those flames only 60% faster, with guards 25 lvls higher than u, this is much easier to do with journeyman riding, pretty much u just gotta be fast about it

for horde, ironforge will end up being the hardest for u, alot of allys usually hang out here

btw, the full midsummer set looks freakin awesome on an orc while dancing, they just got the moves for it, lol

As far as I know, there is no longer a level requirement to obtain the flames from the other factions city. Looted the Under- and Silvermoon City flame at level 33 yesterday, so this is now possible.

So, what the post on the front page says now is incorrect: you do NOT have to be level 50 to be able to loot the flames.

Like posted above, no idea whether there is a requirement for the Thief's quest, but I'd suppose not.

2 days ago, i did all the firestealing quests on my then level 51 shaman and reviced The Crown of the Fire Festival.
Today when i logged in, blizzard had reseted all the bonfirequests due to people doing these quests last year couldn't recive flowers for the achivements, and the same with the A Thief's Reward quest, so now i got The Crown of the Fire Festival x2 :O
So if you did this quest before the bonfire resets, you can recive 2 Crowns, for no use ofc, but anyway :)

It also seems that once you have handed all 4 flames in a particular city (in my case SW) you can complete the quest "A theif's reward" from ANY city, so you can effectivley get 4 crowns. I have only done this with SW and IF so far, going to test Darn and Exo now.

I also noticed that this quest counts towards The Seeker achievement but not the Loremaster ones. So if your going for The Seeker achievement, i suggest you go to all 4 cities, and talk to the festival loremaster guys :D

This Item is easy for mages to obtain because of Invisibility. Only died once last year, in Stormwind. Now that we have glyphs, it's even easier!

The thing with invisibility is that even players with stealth detect and high level guards can't see you. Also, invisibility potion might work, though I'm not sure if the mage spell is more powerful.

My mage is horde, and i found it much easier to first take stormwind's flame, get to the tram somehow, wait for the cooldown of invis to finish and use it as soon as you emerge through the tram portal in ironforge, then head right. With imp. invisibility you should make it to the flame in the next room before anyone has a chance to take you out.

Also highly recommended to do late at night or on weekdays, when not so many people are online ;)

PS: Darnassus is EASY, the flame isn't even in the city... just approach from the proper angle to avoid the patrols.

The annoying thing about this achievement is there is no way to track the flames you already have gotten.
I started the fire festival, then left it for over a week before carrying on. Byt then I forgot if I did or didn't get the SW and IF flames (poor memory), which meant going back to IF and SW, only to find I had already gotten the IF flame.

They should have designed a better achievement for stealing each city flame to keep track of it.

To avoid players on main squares, you can use following ways to enter the cities:
Horde:
Strormwind - fly to the harbour in Borean and use ship. Its close to fire and you avoid Trade district
Ironforge - use metro from SW
Darnassus - you don't have to enter city itself, so you don't need any special peaks
Exodar - there isn't many players anyway...
Aliance:
Orgrimmar - bridge from Barrens
Thunderbluff - zeppelin from OG
Undercity - same as Darnassus
Silvermoon - same as exodar

i would assume that any enchant can work as long as there is no item level requirement for them.

The Helm is obtained by "stealing" the other factions capital flames. Using each flame gives a quest start, hand all three in and you get the helm as a reward.

Gain the flame from each opposing factions cities.
Start each of the flame's quests and take it to the Festival Loremaster. After turning in each of the 3 "Stealing the 's Flame" you get to do a quest called "A Theifs Reward" which talk to the Festival master and He'll give you the festival crown!

You can be just about any lvl to steal the fires in OG,UC,and TB but in order to begin the quest to RECIEVE the crown of fire you HAVE TO be 50+..I know, #1 because a large post on the WoW boards by a player has given this info and #2, at 47 I captured all the fires and could not start the quest..sooo..looks like I'll be hittin' sum instance for the next few nights. I "assume"..that if your not gonna be able to achieve lvl50 by the end of festival,and you have the flames..your screwed..but I don't know if the flames disappear from your bags or if ya have to wait for next year to start the quest or what.

To clear this up a little more, there is no quest that you start to queue you to go steal opposing factions flames..the quest items themselves that you recieve from stealing the flames are the quest start..again YOU HAVE to be ***lvl 50+*** to start the quests however, for the guy to give ya the crown.

i just finished the crown, and did the shoulders yesterday (lvl 60 Human Priest)

when you 'open' the flame in each Horde City(Org, UC, TB) you will recieve an item in your backpack. Right Click that item to recieve a quest in which you simply have to return to your faction's city of your choice, and turn in the quest.

You end up getting like 60 of the Blossoms, 20 of the Fire Breaths, and a choice of 10 of the different kinds of food(+defense, +dmg, +healing, and something else)... just for the 3 flames.

After you have turned in all those 3, an exclamation will appear above the quest guy's head, click on him, click the quest link, and its automatically completed to recieve the helm.

Overall.. it was really simple, but the placement of the bonfire on Org can be a pain to get to.. i simpoly shielded/feared my way to it, ended up having to kill 3 guards once i got there, but that wasnt nothing to worry about.

And no, it is not impossible to do without being lvl 60 or able to stealth. What i did is...

#1. i stuck all my stuff in the bank

#2. keep running in to the city and getting kill by the guards and you will slowly but surely get to it (seens your stuff is in the bank you dont have to pay repires from all the deaths)

#3. what i have seen so far is that when your at the bonfire there are no gaurds close anuf to come and kill you so you can take it, and yes the gaurds are ? (unknown) to me

(but it is still kinda pointless to do it till your lvl 50 seens the lvl req witch i just found out after doing 1)

Did it last night - not only is getting through the enemy town easier at night ;) - it also seemed more up to the "thief spirit". So after soloing the LBRS fire with the help of some invisibility potions I decided to have fun at the enemy territory.

But as I approached UC... The idea of invisibility and thievery suddenly seemed boring - and I boldly rode my tiger in like no thief at all =)

Had lots of fun and many memorable moments - like, for example, dancing with a friendly undead rogue around the pole in UC, or dancing again in Ogrimmar with a low-lvl Shaman in Ghost Wolf form for an audience - he sat close to me and looked up as a real wondorous pup =))
Or seeing players at the Ogrimmar main square turn to me in amazement and freeze for a moment - surprise! - before taking out their weapons and charging...

I had lots of great raiding moments, but as for the solo content, this was one of the most emotionally rewarding quests for me - so thank you for this Blizz!

I first thought this would require a stealth class or a lot of death. A previous poster said they got naked and ghosted in so I put on all my twill gear and got ready to do it. (I'm alliance btw)

Undercity is kinda boringly easy since the flame isn't acutally in the city but above it in the throne room so dont worry about that.

I got to Oggrimar and decided to at least fight the first two guards at the bridge (side entrance), they pulled one at a time so I went for the roamer and then two of the four on the far side. Once you're inside you've got plenty of space to sneak along the sides. You can pick your way carefully along all the way to Thrall's building and the flame with only a couple more guard kills.

Thunder Bluff is quite simple as well, hop the elevator, kill the guard at the end of the ramp. Move along the edge of the cliff to the left behind all the buildings till you get to the bridge building. You'll fight two guards at once here, pull them behind the building to keep out of trouble. For some reason they had a really fast repop time so I actually had to fight six consecutively before I could get across the bridge, not sure if that was supposed to happen. Once you're across the bridge you're in the clear, its a open walk up the slope to the flame.

Run along to your favorite alliance city and get your firey crown and more of those leaf things than you'll ever use. I did it without dying once, and part of that was in full twill armor.

Best advice: Do it at night! You're much less likely to meet a player willing to bump you off. If you meet a 60 with nothing better to do than corpse camp you I imagine this could get annoying.

Basically if you can kill a level 55 (and maybe two) you can do this without dying. You can also just try running for it once you get past the first few guards but the more you have training you the more you'll pull and if you've still got one by the time you get to the fire you're in trouble since looting the flame is channeled.

Probably the most fun quest set I've ever done, its a unique challenge and super satisfying.

Going straight to the Stormwind fire without stealth or an epic mount is a recipe for disaster. On my non-epic, I rode in and raced not for the fire, but for the canals. The canal water is transparent, so the enemy can see you if they look, but if you swim right up against the side, they are unlikely to notice you below them. There are even several docks under which you can safely come up to breathe.

There are stairs to get back out of the water, but if you drown yourself in the canal closest to the fire, you can actually rez directly on top of it. From there you can jump back in the water and swim back towards the tram. Again, drowning yourself will allow you to rez up on the sidewalk, close to the tram instance.

The Ironforge fire is very close to the tram station, as others have mentioned. Just hang a right, it's at the museum.

The Darnassus fire is so easy it's barely worth mentioning. If you can't get past the guards on the Auberdine dock, drown under the spot where the boat comes, wait on the dock as a ghost, and rez on the boat. The guards can't see you there. I even took a level 20 guildie with me to the Darnassus fire, and he was able to do it too.

This quest was great fun, and you don't have to be a rogue or a druid to enjoy it.

I'm a lvl 60 Tauren Shaman
i did it just in 30-45 mins...
Here's my guide =P

Start from Orgrimmar and make sure your hearthstone goes to Org.
1. Take Zeppelin to Grom'Gol Base camp and ride your Kodo to Stormwind. Here, don't forget to naked/wear your tuxedo/watever so you dont need to waste 10g for your repair. With your epic mount, you should can reach 3/4 of trade district, and you'll get inevitable death (100 elite guards there! ZOMFG). Run back (don't ankh!) and res up at the furthest point to res ur self up. By the 2nd try, u'll reach the stockade and voila, "Flame of Stormwind" in your bag now.
O ya, dont forget to bring fish oil, so you can do water walking without any disturbance from guards/civilian, and go to deeprun tram.

2. After killing some lowbies @ the tram, Welcome to Iron Forge, this fire so hella easy to get. Once you out from Deeprun Instance,ride your mount and run to Hall of Explorers, which is so close to the tram. Here, you'll die (if not, you're great!) and ankh up and touch the flame. Grats, now you have "Flame of Ironforge"

3. Astral Recall/Hearthstone to Orgrimmar and fly to Zoram Gar outpost. Ride your mount again to Auberdine and take the north boat which will lead you to Teldrasil. Don't be afraid with this NE place, only lowbies there so you don't have to die. Kill guards and go to the Ru'theran Village's flight path and you'll find the last bonfire. and grats for once again, now you have "Flame of Darnassus"

4. As a shaman, you should can use ur astrall recal or hearthstone, back to orgrimmar, go to valley of wisdom. talk with an undead right there and VoIlA! Crown of the Fire Festival
now in your backpack!

This is a fairly easy quest. ^^ I just did it with my 70 priest, you have to optain the Flame of Thunder Bluff, Flame of the Undercity and Flame of Orgrimmar IF you are Alliance, IF you are Horde you are going for Flame of Stormwind, Flame of Darnassus, and Flame of Ironforge.You can get them by going in to the opposing Cities and collecting all the flames from the Midsummer Fires in them. Since the Bc is out, it did come to me that mabe you had to the the flames from Exodar and Silvermoon City also, but you Do Not have to get them. Btw last I check you had to be 60+ to get this quest? :) Good luck guys.

this was fun and anoying to get

i was charging through these major horde cities in the middle of the day almost running around in circles because i didnt know exactly where the fire was, i was just watching as these low lvl horde were staring at me and probobly thinking to themselfs "WTF IS HE DOING HERE!"

then, it started getting anoying when i died for the 5th time in org. then when i finaly did find the flame, i was being chassed by like 7 gaurds and as soon as i got the flame i was killed then a guy made an allaince and pstd me calling me a noob XD.

but anyway, the org. fire is just north of those big circle buildings (sry, dont know the names)
TB is in the Spirit somthings (im not good with names) its right after a big brige, u cant miss it
and the UC is in the throne room right after u go through the open area thats considerd to be the UC but not rly.
sry im not much help with names but if you think about what i said then you should have no problem finding the flames.

Excellent directions above.

From the Alliance perspective, Orgrimmar has got to be considered the toughest. Level 65 guards set in pairs at nearly every major turn, plus several wandering guards. Did this as a L60 and died WAAAAAAY too many times getting into and through the Valley of Strength. The Drag was relativly safe, and discovered a ledge on the left edge of the upper level that I could spawn on to bypass most of the Valley of Wisdom guards... though I did aggro one as I ran to the flame, dying one last time. I obtained the flame, and decided to run for it out, and for some reason running out was much easier, I made it half way before dying! *chuckle*

Thunder Bluff was much easier, what threw me was the bridges to the Spirit Rise. I didn't realize until too late that the bridges were connected by the elevated "Tents" in front of them, and got stuck and killed by the Guards. It looks like taking the first, southernmost bridge and following the ramp up to the top of spirit rise is the safest way to get to the flame.

The Undercity, as noted earlier, is absolutely the easiest. No guards at all, I walked straight in, grabbed the flame, and ran my smart-mouth. I wasn't RUDE, just thanked the horde for their hospitality. Then grabbed the pole and started dancing around. A transformed, stealthed taureen shaman was slinking around, apparently not quite knowing how to handle me. He was a little weaker than me, but I'd died and revived so many times that I barely had any functioning gear at all. I was getting ready to wave and dance with him when he finally decided to kill me, and due to my shabby gear, it was easy for him. *sigh* ah, well. At least I got my crown! Very understated, but nifty.

Now I've got to try and get my Captured Flame solo, if at all possible... *sigh*

Well for the alliance even though im lvl 46 it was pretty low key...in UC(undercity) mount up and run into the throne room that qwas easy grab it...i hearthed to darnassus and then flew to ratchet...rode to TB(thunder bluff) i took the elevator closest to spirit rise and then i ran throguh no armor throguh and died once...then respawned far awy from my body stealthed behind a post till a guard past (im a NE worrior) then ran across th bridge and grabbed the flame unfortunaltey some lvl 10's (4) thoguht they could take me i slguhtered them so fast that the horse symbol was blown out thier butts...last but not least Orgrimmar this was fun i took the back entrance and purposley died at the ed of the bridge i then respawned a distance away nex tto abuildign where no one was and healed up...i then mounted on ym normal mount and ran full speed no stops striaght through horde PvP players and gaurds and i find jumping over them prevents from being hurt a heck of a lot more... but on the way their i fell off a ledge and too kthe scenic route throguh the long tunnel but imad eit to the fire and then purposley dropped dead....once respwned grab the fire and right behind in the corn er is a good hiding spot to hearth away with yuor winnings in flames.....GOOD LUCK and happy hunting(P.S. peopel want ti because it looks cool, like the hlelm of destruction....annnnd it gives ya challeneg to mock the horde hehe)

-The best piece of advice I can give if you're completely unfamiliar with the opposite faction's cities is to make a couple level 1s really quick to scope out the best method of travel as well as the flame locations in each city. That way when you're on your lvl 50+ of the opposite faction you'll be able to run with ease in the *right* direction. One race in each faction has a city that is difficult to reach at level 1 because it's relatively cut off with no "public transportation" from another captial (Thunderbluff and Darnassus) but just make a quick Tauren/NE and it should help you get a grasp of the city, and how to get there.

-Be sure to un-equip all of your items before running into capital cities. Sure, the corpse run sucks, but it's better than a repair bill. Go in naked, or in cloth items that don't have durability (Lunar festival outfits, simple dress, tuxedo, etc.)

- Paladins, you will not be able to bubble + loot.

- Rogues, bring your flash powder, just in case, obviously. You should be golden if you have the ability to stealth or otherwise loose aggro from the guards/players.

-Read the above comments for flame locations and easy travel paths. Good luck!

I wonder what is the minimum level requirement for this quest. I got the crown, shoulders and even the pet with my 64 level human rogue, and getting the crown was quite easy. A good rogue should get the flames with no deaths - just avoid the elite patrols that see stealth.

I tried to get the flames from the Horde cities with my lvl 29 mage alt. Thunder Bluff is quite easy, even for a low level, if you have 2 invisibility potions (lesser is ok) and a bit of luck. Elite patrols see you even invisible. I managed to get the TB flame using 2 lesser invisibility potions. After I got it I jumped from TB with the safe fall spell - it's an awsome 18 seconds jump :)

However, I can't get the quest to get the crown. When I click the flame, it says level not high enough for this quest! :((

What is the minimum level requirement for it?

P.S. I plan stealing the Undercity flame anyway, because it's so fun and that one is easy to steal :)

Ok, I had just gotten my epic mount today (lvl 62 rogue) and so me and my lvl 70 warrior friend put all our armor in the bank and ran into Org like total idiots on our epic mounts, we were yelling the whole time and it was so effin funny. I died about 4 times and he died 3 times, after we got the flame I hearthed out and he logged, was really effin fun though!

Ran this quest line last night with my best friend (we were levels 51 and 48 NE druids)on Nazjatar. We both wanted the crown, so we donned our non-durable clothing, our flaming shoulders, and set off...
Thunder Bluff:
We basically just ran through the city in travel form till we got up to the spirit rise and it was easy going from there. grabbed the flame, switched to cat form and jumped off the Mesa. (strangely enough, my friend, the level 48, survived and i died upon hitting the ground).

Orgimmar:
This one was probably the most hassle as the nearest Ally graveyard is half a zone away. we blasted through the side entrance and simply played decoy for one another til we got to the flame.
If anyone was watching us last night, you guy were hillarious chasing after us!

A quick hearth to Shattrath Scryers, port to Ironforge, and flight to Southshore and we were off on our last leg of the collection journey.

Undercity:
Probably the Biggest Letdown EVER! we basically just rode into the city, walked nonchalantly past a level 50 Blood Elf Shadow Priest, strode into the throne room, moonfired a level 6 undead lock flagged herself trying to "guard" the flame, took the last fire and ported to moonglade!
now, i don't mean that they should move the flame all the way in to Sylvanas Windrunner (the UC boss), but Blizz could and should probably make this run a little bit more difficult lol!

a short flight back to Rut'Theran Village on Teldrassil to turn in our quests and i had my very own flaming crown!
Woot!
Just to say, this quest line is so much more fun with a good friend.

Apparently you can no longer get this item... I just got the flames from Undercity Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff and all i got was a little food, some fire breathing brew, 3g and a crap ton of flowers...

FUN quest server first on Azshara

completion of the quest also buffs the whole city with 30 stam for an hour

i reccommend doing it fast ppl before other ppl steal your server first

OK.. did Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff last night.. Thunder Bluff was easy.. go from the sw lift.. no guards until you get to the top and even those are far enough away that you can get by them. Sneak around the back of the tents to the bridge to the spirit rise. Run past the two guards there and onto the bridge. The guards had stopped chasing me half-way across.. the bonfire is right on the other side :) Then Orgrimmar.. swiftness potion, travel form, run like hell.. went in the side door.. died once. After the guards at the gate, there was only one more to stationary guard to worry about (outran him) and a couple roamers to watch out for. - I love my crown :)

Qeust is very easy just run into all city's open the fire and get the item wich starts qeust, do this by all 3 citys return em ... after u completed em u get to chose new one wich gives helm..

So how am I (lvl 50 NE Druid) supposed to get that deep into Orgrimmar? The guards are 55s.. as I understand they will still be able to see me in stealt and/or invis (via potion) due to the lvl difference.. any suggestions?

I would like to confirm that you can both still get the crown and that it is still useable, I have mine from last year and I can still wear it, and I helped someone get the crown yesterday by stealing the horde's flames and they did get the crown

EDIT : Works this year, you just also need to get exodars flame (if you're horde) or silvermoon city's (if you're alli) in addition to the other cities flames of the past years.

I got that buff earlier today, someone on my server must have already done it :(

Anyway, I think I know where the one is in Orgrimmar (by Mannoroth's armor?) but where are the ones in Undercity and Thunder Bluff?

Edit: I'm going around on my old Tauren hunter, I'll put up the coords of all of the Horde fires in here, and I'll get the Alliance fires up as well.

First of all, you MUST be level 50 or higher to get the crown.

Alliance:
Valley of Wisdom in Orgrimmar
Throne Room in The Undercity
Spirit Rise in Thunder Bluff

Horde:
Hall of Explorers in Ironforge
An Area to the Right of The Stockades in Stormwind
Rutheran Village in Teldrassil (Take the boat from Darkshore)

Once you get all three flames from the opposite factions main cities, Take the quests and turn them in to the Fire Festival people. After all 3 have been turned in, there is a quest called A Theifs Reward in which they give you the crown.

Getting the Mantle is easier. Just gotten from a quest given by the Fire Festival people involving going to various places like the Blasted Lands and Searing Gorge to touch flames there.

I did these both at level 49 and then got to level 50 to get the Crown.

There is also a quest called A Light in Dark Places where you have to go into Dire Maul, Stratholme, Scholomance, and Blackrock Spire. I am not sure where inside these places the fires are, but the Reward from the quest is a spirit of Summer and it looks like a Red Whisp. Getting this and the other peices to the Fire Festival clothes makes for a great Outfit.

Completed the quest line this year on two of my alliance toons. Pretty neat little novelty item, and it really was NOT that hard to get!

All you need to do is figure out where the flame is in each of the horde (or alliance) major cities are, then bum-rush in there on your mount and hopefully grab it before players kill you. The guards aren't a problem. Silvermoon, Thunderbluff and UC are extremely easy to get to on my server (you can run in on your mount straight to the flame with maybe one or two guards aggrod, and no players), but Org was a bit harder (I would make it to the flame itself before being mauled by at least 5 - 10 players). I just ran back to my body and logged dead, came back later, rezzed at the flame, grabbed it and hearthed. I recommend doing Silvermoon, TB and UC first and save Org for last. Easy!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, there will be no yellow ! above the flames; when you mouse over you'll see the cogwheel, right click the flame and you will receive an item so MAKE SURE you have free bag space! The item you receive starts a quest, and you receive one item like that for each city, so you will have four different quests. After you turn all four in to a fire festival NPC at any of your faction's major cities they will have a ! above their head to pick up a quest to get the crown.

I also believe a requirement to complete these quests and receive the crown is level 50.

This is really easy, just throw everything that has durability into the bank, and get ready for a few corpse runs. If you're a rogue, you can stealth through this quest really easy, same with druid. Still, I like to take off my durability stuff just in case.

Corpse runs aren't so bad, I've done this quest on both factions with my two 55s. Priest, it's easy, just shield, renew, and run as far as you can get, throwing some fears out every once in awhile to get through faster.

Once you get the flames, you can corpse run from them, which makes it easier. For horde, get SW done first, it's the hardest, and then take the tram to IF. Darnassus is the easiest.

As of today the quest for this item (A Thief's Reward Alliance, A Thief's Reward Horde) is suddenly available to me. I had completed turning in the stolen flames on both my Paladin main and Hunter alt over a week ago but only my Hunter had been offered this quest until today when it suddenly appeared for my Paladin. I don't know whether it'd been fixed or if it's just glitchy but if you've had a problem it might be worth checking again.
