If you need cash quick, farming for these things is the way to go. The Twilight Mobs are easy to kill and drop these about 1/4 or 1/5 of the time. They easily sell for 1g each since the prospective buyers are usually either rich people who want Cenarion Circle items or smaller guilds who are trying to get their members friendly with CC for the buff on the Rajaxx fight in AQ20.

you wont get any rep off normal mobs after revered, so best to save these text til then, then hand in as many as u got.
If AQ Gates open, this'll be done fast.

these are great to get from farming in silithus they still sell for almost 1g each on my server and drop off any of the guys at the twilight camps. about every other twilight you kill drops one and there is 2 turn ins for them. One turn in them not everyone knows about and is on the south east corner of silithus in a cave. This turn in gives no rep but he does mail you a bag of loot for each turn in you do. The bag of loot will sometimes rare recipes so this makes the turn in worthe doing. However from what i found lately a recipe will only show up in your bag of loot about 1 in ever 5 turn ins

I suggest that you do this quest together with Twilight Geolords by killing Twilight Geolords as they have 23% chance to drop Twilight Text aswell.

this almost never drops from the twilight mobs (in my experiece anyway) also this can't be vendored.

Since 3.0.2 this area is a great spot to farm gold as most people will pay a good ammount of gold for these items to get there title "Guardian of cenarius" also the runecloth dropped here is a great second source of income with stacks selling up to 7gold per on my realm. i farmed here for afew hours getting 400 of these texts and around 52-55 stacks of runecloth and 41 abyssal crests.

Sold all twilights texts on the AH 7-8 gold each, All the runecloth 7g per stack and abyssal crest 20gold each.

Great income if you liek to farm gold. since the mobs have little over 3k hp

Good luck finding these on the auction house nowadays. There haven't been any on for the last couple of weeks on my server (Vashj-EU). Then again, there aren't any players in Silithus anymore nowadays either. Try "/who Silithus" and see if you can find anyone. Everybody just heads to Outland and level 58.

Summarising: the only way to get these, is to farm them yourself.

Keep them!

2 quests can be done with those in Silithus.

1 for rep for Cenarion Circle and 1 for a chance at blue patterns for tailoring or blacksmithing.

The rep quest is from the guy at Cenarion Hold

The guy who sends you random blue recipies is Ortell, and he is in a cave in the East..

But for both you need to have done some prerequisite quests.

Ok first off they are repeatable at either person.

If you turn them into Ortell in the hermit cave you will get no reputation, but he will send you various things in the mail, such as some good patterns or scrolls to create crest/scepters, used in summoning specific elementals.

The Cenarion Hold person will give you 100 reputation per 10 texts turned in to him. This was generally at lvl 60 Neutral/Friendly.

I've done each once for the xps, so does anyone have opinions on which I should do the repeats with now that I have another 10? Or should I just sell the texts in the AH, a stack appears to go for over 5gold. Opinions anyone?

Gold farmers sell these for exorbitant amounts on my server -- 40g-50g per stack or even more. They're not too difficult to get, even with all the competition for mobs. Undercutting the farmers isn't a bad way to make a semi-honest buck.

Every time I'm out there, though, people try to talk to me in Chinese. :\

Atm Im selling them cuse Im grinding money for epic mount. But later I will brind them in so I can get rep with CC. Im doing Aq20 so when i get honored / reverd / exalted I get the stuff I need for the epic rewards quest from my Guild Master.So when I get my epic mount i will grind rep and brind them in instead of selling them.
Im selling them for 1 g each (1 x Encrypted Twilight Text = 1 g )

You need 10 x Encrypted Twilight Text to get 100 (110) rep with CC

These now officially give 250 Cenarion Circle rep per turn in (of 10 texts) id advise everyone whos trying to rep up to buy their ah out now coz the price will prob rise. and this makes prophet kills ALOT nicer

Could be dumb luck, but when I was going through the 3 Twilight Cultist posts, the southernmost (Outpost?) one gave me 9, the other 2 gave me 1 each... just throwing that out there

Edit: Again, I was grinding for the other quest and once again I got 1 at the northernmost, 1 in the middle, and the rest in the south... I am on Bloodscalp, I don't know if this is true all the time for anybody, I'm just saying that's how it is for me 2 days in a row...

At revered, these continue to give 250 rep per turn-in of 10.

At exalted, these also continue to give 250 rep per turn-in all the way up to 999/1000 Exalted.

very simple quest 66 pally here i jus went to each base an waited rode around til i saw each one threw my avengers shield pulled them all by themselves an did the quest an only killed 3 twilight members the whole time :)

btw coords are book 1-25,33 book 2-18,83 book 3-39,44 they are easy to spot all have their own distinct look an i believe they all are holding a book maybe was just the last one watch out for mayna she will fear u in2 more but was still an easy quest 1v1 i had no trouble as a 66 pally :)

Some say there is no use giving stacks of these texts to the hermit as he only gives you 90 silver for your effort, whereas you get 500 cenarion circle rep (since patch 2.3)

You are missing something, which is understandable since it is hidden and not seen on thottbot links to this item.

A day after you turn in texts to the hermit, he will send you a package in the mail. These packages contain translated texts (fun read sometimes and extra vender trash coin)and a RANDOM chance of BOE recipes for tailoring and smithing to make items of shadow resistance......they may not be as valuable now with the outland gear avaialble, but for completist of recipes, they are uncommon and interesting items.
And still somewhat useful for those wanting to do old azeroth content like sholomance/stratholme but not at the 68-70 lvl for the outland shadow resist gear (thinking more along the lines of 58-63 lvl here).

As well, you have a RANDOM chance of a scroll that lets you build a once ever summoning tool for a specific templar type/duke/royal abyssal. These are worth a LOT to people who are looking for specific gear that only drops off of certain summoned types (much more so dukes and royals naturally)....again, something for bored 70's or thrillseeking lower levels to do. Not much sense grinding out the full gear to summon a royal and not get the one you were hoping for, when you can turn in texts and eventually make certain you get the one you want when you are ready for the summons.

One or two texts drop from every small encampment of 3 and 4 Twilight Cultists. These small tents are the ones around the main encampment. Just run around taking out one encampment after another and you'll get your texts real quick.

Checking Thottbot, it appears that the drop rate is only that high for the 59-60 level Twilights, except for Geolords. Lower level Geolords may drop them more.

Twilight Overlord is the best one to farm for this. Highest drop rate for non-elite. Also relativly easy kill cause as a mage I get CS him and blast to death (low hp). So for most classes not a problem.

I realize the drop rates are most likely accurate, but I found the Avengers drop FAR more than the Geo's. Eight out of the ten I got were from Avengers.

Edit: just got 2 in a row....so thats 2/52 I'm pretty sure thats still not 25%

The prophet spawns every 25-30 minutes. Drops 8-10 texts. Great for mass farming these guys.

The only ones that are accurate are the twilight overlords and flamereavers. The others drop it much less frequently. I don't know it's weird.

I'm sitting here on about my 50th kill of the day, and have gotten TWO drops. Before v2.3 I usually got 12-15% drop rate.

as a non-human, you need 84 turn-ins for exalted, with no quests done before. Thats 840 texts.
Humans need 77 turn-ins.
