For the Beast Master specced hunter it is a good part of the following combo:
Bestial Wrath(Beast Within) + Rapid fire + intimidation + Devilsaur Eye + Berserk if you are a troll.

I currently have this set to a macro that casts Rapid Killing and Devilsaur Eye. Tried casting Intimidation as well but for whatever reason the macro wouldn't cast but my cooldown timer would start anyways.

Cooldown for DE is 2 minutes, cooldown for RK is 3-5 minutes depending on points spend on Rapid Killing in the Marksmanship talent.

Macro for RK + DE is:

/cast Rapid Killing
/cast Devilsaur Eye

Make sure you have the DE equipped.

Rapid Killing is an aura , Markman talent , the skill is Rapid Fire ..

I loved this Trinket. I had it up until level 70 where I got Core of Ar'kelos and Uniting Charm to replace it.

With Rapid Fire, it's a wonderful bugger. You won't regret getting it. =)

One reason that macro you made didnt work was because between every line like /cast "whatever" right under that in the macro you have to have /stopcasting and then go on to your next /cast "whatever" under that. If you dont have it the macro wont work properly. It should look like this

/cast Rapid Fire
/stopcasting
/cast Devilsaur Eye
/stopcasting
/cast Intimidation
/stopcasting

Now that macro should work properly. =]

This trinket is so beastly for its level (pun intended). As an Orc Beast Mastery spec'd hunter, I have it macroed with Bestial Wrath and my orc racial Blood Fury which gives me a combined total of a 352 attack power boost (at level 50) and 20 hit rating, plus the extra 10% extra damage from The Beast Within. This is all just effecting me. I'll have to come back later and edit in the amount of AP my pet gets from the trinket and raical.

Anyway here is the macro I use:

/use Devilsaur Eye
/cast Blood Fury
/stopcasting
/cast Bestial Wrath

*note* for the trinket part of the macro you can substitue /use 13 or /use 14 depending on what slot the trinket is in. 13 being the top slot and 14 being the bottom slot.

So... with the cooldown on this thing being 2 minutes and the effect being 20 secs you can use this almost every smaller pull in high level instances.

With the stat bonus... +150 AP and 2% to hit does this make it better than the Hunter Royal Seal https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=35645/典狱官的猎枪 in most cases?

I can see myself switching between these two quite often... Royal Seal for longer fights and the Devilsaur Eye for quicker ones. This thing is very nice.

Meh. This is why people start hating hunters, in addition to that they're annoying(300 NE hunters behind every tree in existence, bah!). Earthstrike requires hellalot of effort to get your hands on, this requires far less and is not far off in quality, seeing as +2% hit = good.

After thinking this over for a month (I have done the quest just not handed it in yet I wanted to see the new bc talents 1st) I have found that there are a few +attack power trinkets already available, Earthstrike being the best.

Royal Seal of Eldre'Thalas is better than Devilsaur Eye simply due to the fact that is +48 attack power on EQUIP. So you will do the same if not more damage over time than someone with the Eye. The eye is +150 ap a hit over 20 seconds with 2 minutes cd - they will just do higher burst damage than you over a shorter space of time. You will have +48ap a hit indefinately.

The tooth gurantees a pet crit which is great with prowl and also triggers frenzy which when prepared with intimidation and bestial wrath makes a very good high damage pet opener, there is no trinket like it in the game and you only get one chance to get it.

Like I said before there are better attack power trinkets out there and the tooth is so rare that missing out on it might prove regretful later.

in the recent patch, pets receive a portion of the hunter's ap, making this somewhat more useful to a BM then the tooth. Yes the tooth can cause ferocious inspiration and frenzy to proc off a prowl, but it would end up like the carrot, sitting unused in the bank. Now if they made the tooth like... a 45sec-1 min cd, then maybe i woulda gone for it but, meh, id rather get something that buffs me AND my pet. Besides, with broken tooth, i get plenty of crits anyways (and prowl isnt that big :P).

If u use this with a boar with the last rank of charge, which gives 560 melee attack power on his/her next attack, if you crit it will do MAJOR damage if you're BM spec and if you're an orc also, it does 25% damage bonus(Including the 20% pet damage from the BM tree, which obviously almost all BM hunters have).

So if you do these steps below, it will proc off MAJOR burst damage, how do I know? I've done it many times before:

Devilsaur tooth, Intimidate, Bestial wraith, Blood rage(IF YOU'RE AN ORC, WHICH I SUGGEST SINCE IT IS NOW THE BEST RACE FOR HUNTERS), any attack power trinket, and let the burst damage pursue.

And lmao @ the person who started the prowling topic, that is complete BS, why would you want to do a one sequence crit, when if you have a boar it could do possible 2.5-3x the damage with the trinket, also the patch made it so ALL pets in the game now have 2.0 attack speed, so the cat is useless for this kind of trinket.

A.K.A TRINKET IS BEST FOR BOAR CHARGE

And was immensely disappointed.

1400 crit rating should be very nearly 100% chance to critically strike, but it isn't. My boar went 3 battles in a row without getting a single critical strike with the trinket active. The thing actually expired its 3-minute cooldown before my pet critically hit even one time.

It's bugged. Get the eye. It will at least tide you over until you get the Outland trinkets.

Also, the buff has no time limit. So you can prebuff, wait, then buff again in combat for big fights. Your pet will have frenzy effect most if not all of the fight, which mean a 30% increase in damage (not counting the crits). The Eye, and it's 150 AP and 2.4% chance to hit will not give that much more damage.

If I was Marks i would get the Eye however

Is this pretty much replaced by Bladefist's Breadth https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=28041/刃拳的宽容 in Outland?

I suppose if you had a long fight you could pop one, swap out wait 30 secs and pop the second (it appears they don't stack).

I also have the Hypnotist's watch https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=25786/催眠怀表 as a defensive trinket in case Feign Death is on cooldown.

The spear is ok, but you can find better in the AH or from instances at this point. The Tooth is more for BM spec'd hunters to use in conjunction with Beastial Wrath... The +150 can help make for some great aimed shots. :)

For those wondering, it sort of shares a cooldown with Bladefist's Breadth. When you trigger one it puts the other on cooldown for the 15 or 20 seconds of duration, so you can use them one straight after the other for 35 seconds of boosted AP but you can't use them simultaneously to give +350 AP.

This is a fantastic trinket to use in Molten Core. I can use this in nearly every pull and multiple times in a boss fight. A good "combo" is to fire an arcane shot, use this trinket, fire a multi-shot, then use rapid fire while spamming arcane and multi whenever they cooldown.

when you get critted and you go berzerk. Activate berzerk, eye, Aspect of Monkey and deterrence. Whatever you're fighting is DEAD. 150+ Attack power + faster attack speed + better chance to hit + 25% bonus to dodge and parry + whatever percentage your AOM has.

also critted 1300 with this thing plus Aspect of Hawk and Trueshot Aura on.

Im a 51 now hunter just finished the quest. With this i can hit i think 933 atk power thats including hawk and trueshot.

But at 51 933 ranged atk power isnt bad at all and best part is its 2 minutes to cooldown.

I was thinking at least 1 hour or something but no 2 minutes.

so all i have to do is switch from this to my gnomish death ray 3 minute cooldown till i do mad amounts of dmg.

Altogether its well well worth it just my 2 cents
