Get it from Orphan Matron Nightingale at Stormwind or Orgrimmar in the Children Weak. The Children weak is an event started the 7 May and Finish the 14 May. This Orphan will give you some quest ( Jaina's Autograph, You Scream, I Scream... and A Warden of the Alliance ) When you've finish the quests you can get a pig ( Mr . Wiggles ) , a Rat or a turtle named Speedy or 5G.

Same for the Orcish Orphan.

because i want to make a ton of alts just to get the 5g

I believe the quest this item is for requires you to be level 10, so you can't make lots of characters just to do the quest repeatedly. (Or rather, it probably wouldn't be worth the time spent.)

~~Could be worth to mention that this one will only last for 2 days~~, while the Outland whistle lasts for a week.
As for the event of 2009, this whistle also lasts for a week.

Does anyone know if you turn the whistle in whether you can get it back again? Or must you complete all the achievements BEFORE getting your pet?

on silverhand some level 2 gnome was saying that while you have your orphan summoned you have increased drop rates.. i didn't believe this but was very curious so decided to go to tyr's hand and off the first 10 kills i got a serenity belt. although it is only worth 5g it is a blue item. i am wondering if this is just a rumor or it is fact. anyone know about this?

ummm... i did allthe lame quests w/ that kid and now it wont let me turn it in! given i moved and havent been on in a week does that have something to do w/ it? :C so sad i want my pig! lol

i found something good about these, you can keep them forever, you just have to log on everyday and the counter will stay at 2 days or something like that

uh nooby question but ive only started from summer till now (lvl 41) and can u keep the orphan by not turning in the quest and have em like a non combat pet? (more of super non combat pet lol)

You can keep the orphan if you just keep the quest and never turn it in. \I still have my orphan to summon and its December lol.

It works to use the griffins or your hearthstone with the Orphan, sometimes it might take 2 or 3 whistles but it does work to summon them no matter how you travel. The child can run as fast as your mount or sprint or any ability.

As has been noted before, you get the whistle (as Alliance) from the Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind (wearing a red shirt and a black dress, in the Cathedral district)

Sometimes you need to use the whistle more than once - I thought for sure when I arrived in Westfall from Stormwind by griffin and then used the Orphan Whistle to summon my Orphan than it didn't work. However, when I returned by foot to Westfall, and then took a griffin back to Stormwind after completing the Lighthouse quest, and used the whistle, I was kind of shocked my Orphan appeared. I flew to Iron Forge and used my whistle, and my orphan appeared, I flew to Loch Modan to do The Stonewrought Dam quest, and used the whistle, and my Orphan appeared again. I flew to Menethil harbor and use the whistle, and it didn't work the first two times, but did work on the third time, and it worked to take a griffin so this leads me to believe it works to travel by griffin, but you maybe have to be patient with your Orphan appearing after the flight.
