The schematic can be found on the floor near Golem Lord Argelmach (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/npc=8983) in Blackrock Depths (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/zone=1584). Only engineers (gnomish or goblin) with 300 skill may learn the schematic after clicking on it. It helps to clear Argelmach and his golems prior. ;-)

The easiest way to obtain the Fused Wiring needed for these is to create and use multiple Target Dummies (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=4366) which drop it as they are expended.

The plans to be able to make this item are found in Blackrock Depths (inside the Blackrock Mountain). They are just before the bar in the room before the fire elementals. You will have to kill the boss near them however if you use a target dummy you are able to loot the plans, and then die (or as a rogue vanish).

This item is usefull to repair your equipment mid raid, it costs the same as repairs as a neutral NPC.

In order to pick up the recipe you'll neeed the Shadowforge Key to get to the boss. There are two bosses you need to kill if you don't have the key on you. First the arena boss to get through to the top of the arena and then the dwarf standing with some golems for the iron fel(for the quest item). Both can be soloed at 70 without problem. (Hits for about 400-500 on clothies and with about 26-28k health) You'll probably need a health pot if you can't heal. Took me about 2 hours to do the whole thing because I got lost in BRD lol
So basicly this is what you need to do:
1. Jump into the lava and die, then ghost run to the dwarf ghost, get the key quest and rez.
2. Go into BRD, clear the arena event, run up.
3. There will be a locked door and a switch that both requires the key, turn right and go to the end of the hallway,there should be a window.
(and a blocked doorway)
4. Jump out of the window and head toward, ignore the elementals and the boss, you should see the road going up and the dwarf boss standing there.
5. Kill the dwarf boss and his fellas(1 elite golem+3 none elite dwarves),
loot the Iron Fel and head up, go through a few rooms, you'll find a bridge that leads to a long hallway.
6. across the bridge and go to the end of the hallway, ignore the boss just click on the statue next to him. This is where you get the key.
7. Head back and turn left at the middle of the hallway, across the top of the arena and you should be standing in the room where the locked door and switch is.
8. Jump off the stairs and turn on the switch, go back to the window and you should be able to get through the blocked doorway now.
9. Follow the road, then turn right, the boss is standing next to the recipe at the end of the hallway.
10. Click on the recipe, congratulations! You can now make Field Repair Bot 74A

The above is all good info by Coldtail, but if your an engeneer anyway, wanting this, i solo'd easily as a 70 lock.took 2 hours and should have taken 20 mintues if i had realized that a will open that Shadowforge lock.
1. you need 2-4 Power Seaforium Charges
2. use first just to the left when you get into the instance then immediatly to the right when you walk through. then there is a gate to the East guard gate (something like that, forget the exact name of the little door)
3. right infront of you is the big Gear that you need to blast open to move another set of doors further on, use your last Charge here.
4. once this is open, go up the little stair way and stay to the left until you pass through a little tunnel that goes through the big set of doors you just closed.
5. keep to your right hand side, and you'll have no problem getting to the Golem lord.
6. last as was mentioned before, pickup the plans

Did this on a 70 hunter, no issues died once because my FD was resisted, If you don't have FD you will only aggro twice mobs, and you can easily kill them so you don't.

For a level 70 player you can get the schematic without agroing the boss, but if you happen to do so, he's a fairly easy boss to solo.

There is no cooldown on this per se, but a person can only drop ONE repair bot per instance. This restriction is per person, so if you have many engineers, you can each drop one. For raid (or other non-resetable) instances this restriction will expire after the instance does a 'soft' reset. (IE, everyone is out of the instance for 30+ minutes)

The usefulness of this item is diminished in TBC. Unlike the old days when raiding inside Blackrock Mountain and repairs were a long walk away, the new raid instances have repair guys either inside the instance or just outside at the entrance. Karazhan has 2 repair NPCs inside, SSC has one just outside if you're exalted with Cenarion, The Eye has the one at cosmowrench and with each death the player ressurects outside anyway, and Black Temple has a repair guy outside as well.

WIth the cost of materials for this item being around 15g, which was much higher than before TBC, most engineers see these rot in their bags.

Patch 2.3 promises to have a new repair bot whose recipe drops from Ganarg Analyzers in Blades Edge (the little demons near the apexis monuments). Supposedly it will not only repair but sell all types of poisons, reagents, ammo, and vials, as well as limited quantities of potions and scrolls.

when money funnels in and out of the bot (through buying, selling and repairs), does it have any connection to the dropper's money? i've heard that the dropping engineer's wallet is tied to the bot and i've heard that there is no connection (both from non-engineering sources though). can someone clear this up for me please.

for those of you who like to collect every possible recipe, This is extreamly easy to get at 70, you do not even need to fight the boss. Just inch up slowly until you can use the pattern on the ground.

16 Thorium and 2 Fused wire is really easy to get now at 70 =) Better for goblin engineers b/c we can port to everlook and run down to the Darkwhisper Gorge and farm lots of Thorium i get about 50 ore or so an hour. Copper Wire sells cheap in AH if you dont have a JCer and Essence of Fire is actually a common drop now. Real easy to get when your on and bored for a few hours or so =)
I run in a family guild that likes to run in and find our own ways to down dungion bosses and such and seeing how we wipe on some of the harder bosses these little guys come in real handy =)

I managed to click the documents on the floor WITHOUT aggroing the boss at level 62. I'm a rogue and sneaked through the rest of the instance, but obviously you turn visible when using the item.

3) Turn right, out of the 'tavern'

Ok this is how u do it! Should take 10min if not less

First bring 5Large Seaforium Charges

When u enter the instance look to the left see gate blow that lock.

Then look to the right see gate blow that lock

To the left the door is on the left no mobs blow lock

Now ur in a room where u should see a stairway to the right and a big gear hanging up look down right below that its a lock that u need to blow

Blow that lock then go back to stairs and keep to the left u should see a walkway

Go down walkway and the plans should be on ur right near boss

Really this is the best way to do it. Good luck :)

If you can walk past the mobs anyway don't bother turning left and blowing your way through both the gates and then the door. Just go straight ahead when you enter the instance, up the ramp into the open area and then go to the passage on your left. You end up right by the door to the gear room, no need to waste two extra seaforium charges.

Oh and btw, although Saronite Bombs say they do moderate siege damage they didn't so much as scratch the door when I tried it so dont waste those either.

Don't bother farming BRD for this item unless you have 300 engineering. It won't even let you pick it up unless you have 300.

I found mine laying on the ground in front of the lord golum guy in BRD. It's a scroll you click on it and then click the little bubble and you can make it.

The locations on Thott are wrong. You learn the schematics from a scroll on the ground next to Golem Lord Argelmach in BRD.

I had wanted this for a while, but couldn't ever get a good group together. I decided to see if I could solo to it. FD + Pet Sacrifice = Repair Bot Schematic In Twenty Minutes. I should have been a rogue.

For those who asked:

Turn left when you enter the instance. Go through the door, go through the other door to the right. Go through the door to the left. Close the gate, by interacting with the "lever." Go up the stairs, and stay left until you cross the bridge/gate. Follow the corridor around, until you reach a room with two stairways, one to the left, and one to the right, both going down. Take the one to the right. The schematic is at Golem Lord Argelmach's feet.

You need 300 engineering to be able to "pick up" the schematic for this. The bot does NOT give you back materials when it dies because it isnt a pet (and so cannot move either). It does NOT sell a copy of itself.

It IS useful for 40 man raids in molten core where porting out to repair the entire raid then killing respawned mobs on the way back in would take some time. If you're in a guild doing MC get this, otherwise don't worry about it too much.

Okay this is how you do it solo since no-one bothered to post it before that I could see.

Stealth down, I'm a 60 rogue with 5/5 MOD with Nightscape boots for stealth runs, easy as pie, this should be doable for the most part for druids as well, they will need a shadowforge key though.

Enter BRD.

Take a left, open the door, hang a right (avoid the guard), open that door as well, hang another left, open that door.

From there, stealth up to the shadowforge lock, open that.

Restealth, head up the stairs, follow the path around until you enter the Manufactory, stealth right up to the plans, get near the barrel of oil, use distract for an extra second if you want it.

Right click on the plans, you'll drop right out of stealth and pull agro, don't worry though, you can be in combat and there is no opening delay, click on the copy button and vanish.

From there rogues can stealth out.

Druids, just die :p

I hadn't seen the "hello it's me" rogue/druid strategy just posted by Melrin, so I tried a more cautious approach:
Just (!) stealth your way to Argelmach.
Equip a pet trinket (dragonling, chicken, ... Choose your flavour)
Stand in the part of the room adjacent to where Argelmach is, out of aggro range.
Make sure your stealth counter is ready, and that you have selected a target close but away from the trio (Argelmach and the 2 golems), summon your pet trinket, immediately stealth and walk towards the target. Your pet will go towards the mob in the big room, aggro and the trio will run after it. The pet will last a little longer than a snowball in hell but that's just about enough time to open the scroll and copy it to your book! Fast clicking required!
Voil�!
If you're lucky, you can even vanish and not die!
My first attempt (chicken) failed but I vanished and succeeded on the next (dragonling) If I'd waited for vanish cooldown, I could even have HS out!
You'll be revered later on when everyone can repair after a wipe!

You can sell junk and repair you gear with this bot.

No, the engineer does not get anything out of it. It won't even follow you around.

Rogues, druids, and hunters can solo this. Or you can have a lvl 60 run ahead of you can pull all the agro...a little risky though.

Any class can solo this if of a sufficient level to avoid aggro (I did it at 70, your mileage may vary). However, you MUST have one of these:

1. sufficient lockpicking skill
2. 4 seaforium charges
3. Shadowforge Key

In addition, you will need at least 1 invisibility potion or cloaking device. Follow the directions of the above posters, however, I kept getting lost because some of the above-posters didn't explicitly mention that you MUST open the shadowforge lock BEFORE you go up the stairs. You will not need the invisibility potion until you reach the long hallway of the West Garrison. Just be careful to avoid the roving fire elementals. When you reach the two stairways, take the one on the right. You can get the plans without aggroing the boss.

All of the posts ive read so far have talked about setting this up just for repair purpses only. I myself have used this not only to repair but to allow the party to sell the "junk" items to create space for the greens and blues. Im not saying this is the most effective use for it but just one people havent posted about.

Its a mobile Vendor that you can repair at. Each Bot only has ONE charge, and lasts 10 mins. Yes you can Sell unwanted items to it.

you guys r all doing it the hard way. if u read the plans he wont attack. i simply steath in the room (i'm a 64 rogue) hide behind the boxes (make sure ur in range to read them) then simply read while ur behind the boxes and then leave. simple.

Can be reached solo at 70, with difficulty.
Yellow skill up to 320.
Found on floor in BRD.

~70g to make 5. = ~280g for a stack of 20.
Can be reached solo at 70, with flying mount.
Yellow skill up to 370.
Found on Gan'arg Analyzer (70), Blade's Edge Mountains (40 kills before drop) only drops for Eng.

Did you bother to read the info posted above? Clearly not. Several people tell you how to get there and that it is neither BOP nor BOE but rather a book on the floor that will teach you (provided your engineering is 300 or better) how to make it. You cannot take the book with you. It's more like research material at a library. You read it there and leave it there.

This recipe is worth getting even at 450, as with the new Jeeves Repair Bot coming out, you need to make some of these to make Jeeves. :) Hope this helped.

Don't hesitate to go solo through BRD as an 80.

I just did as an 80 prot pally. Regardless, I had to fight a total of 2 groups of dwarves and 2 solo fight elementals. You can generally just run around everyone else without agro.

You can loot the scroll without even aggroing the boss.

I spent more time traveling to the instance than in it.

If you're trying to get this pattern to make Jeeves here's another way of getting it. If you don't know your way around, get lost easily, or don't have the Shadowforge Key, then find a friend or spam trade for someone who has the Direbrew Remote from the last Brewfest event. This will port you right to the bar inside BRD and from there it's just a quick run over the bridge to the other boss standing next to this pattern.

You don't need the key, you just need seaforium charges, they blow the locks nicely :) Solo'd no problem as an 80 rogue, 1-2 shot anything in there.

Bring about 4 of them if I remember correctly, or a rogue with higher lock picking than myself, lol.

Enter BRD - at once turn left, through the gate, turn right through the gate, left through the door. Here you have to use "The Shadowforge Lock". Then go back and up the stairs. Hug left and go straight on. the boss is at the end of the room full of pillars.

im a rouge a lev 32 rouge and i have a few questions where is teh golem lord room and if im in stealth mode can i copy it or will i unstealth and is the golem considered humanoid

oh and i know a great place to get teh fused wiring just make a post asking where if u wanna know, this isn't gnomer to let u know and teh monster that drops it drops it about once every 2 - 3 kills :) problem is theres only about 4 spawned at one time :( ( to long to type if no one wants to know)

Yep just got mine my group kind of wiped trying to clear room before Golem Lord Argelmach so I just did a suicide mission and sent my pet in luckily the schematic doesnt have any delay after you use it. Just use it and click on text that popups and you will auto learn how to make it. Luckily I didn't die and I Feign Death before my pet died.

59 rogue - I stealthed through BRD to this room, let loose my arcanite dragonling and took the plans. The dragon died instantly from golem lord and his cronies, and I died shortly after. It was worth it :)

If you want to farm fused wiring, then either make a crapload of target dummies to suicide for it, or camp shredders in STV.(Target dummys have insaninly common drop rate on FW, at least for me)

Shedders have decent fused wiring drop rate, and are only lvl35 or so, there willonly be 2 of them up at once, but they have decent spawn time.

Yeah, the fused wiring is a problem, mostly. I'm planning to farm gnomeregan tonight, though, and stock up.

I reckon the parts cost somewhere around 3g, then the fused wiring on top. However, I've found that often I'm happy to drop one in an instance, when my bags are full, because if I can sell stuff for 5g, and then have room for another 5g's worth of stuff, that's a profit, instead of having to leave stuff behind all the time. Plus, some evenings, you just find you're being wipetastic, and it's nice to repair on the go.

Also, the repair cost -seems- to be about 30% more than a regular repair.

And yes, if you have less than 300 engineering, it says that you can't comprehend the schematic.

Let me get this right. A non-engineer can use this, but it only is good for one use. If I shut it down, it dies on me. Oh, and Bliz gets all the stuff sold to it and the repair costs.

With as much as I paid for the mats, this should be a 10 time item at least. Better if it were a life time item.
