I just wanted to add, if you're a level 70 who's just picked up herbalism and you have already purchased your epic mount, as soon as you can start collecting this, hearth and go to HFP. Its entirely faster than any herbalism leveling guide can do for you. You can also collect Dreamfoil out there as well and as soon as you hit 300 you can start on the Felweed.

Most sources seem to indicate 260 Herbaism is needed. All I know is I never ever heard of it until I found it in The Hinterlands while doing a quest that involved other herbs.

i Found loads randomly placed around hellfire
i found 3 main herbs in hellfire

1.felweed (der)
2.Mountain Silversage
3. Golden Sansam

in order of amount found!
having a flying mount REALY helps get to Mountain Silversage :-)

I came to Azshara to make Major Healing Potions. And I should be able to make at least 4 stacks. There is a lot of golden Sansam & Mountain Silversage in Azshara. ALOT!

Feralas
Hinterlands
Un'Goro Crater

Note, there is an Argent Dawn work order quest that has you collecting 20 Major Healing Potions (and it takes 2 Golden Sansam's per potion, plus 1 Mountain Silversage). Plus, Major Healing Potions are much sought after for Instances.

As for the best zone to get this herb, it's hard to say...they don't spawn in any dense manner in any zone...but your best bets are probable Un'Goro Crater and Feralas.

Golden Sansam can be found in the upper left corner of the map in Swamp of Sorrows at location 16,36 ; area is also populated by Misty Grells which occasionally drop Felcloth
