There are a bunch of Spectral Corpses and Spectral Marauders around the sword. Do not fear, though! They will not aggro you after you loot it, instead you are treated by their souls being 'redeemed' and they disappear into the air.

those coords are incorrect, maybe they changed it's location or something.
it's found at 49.5, 59.8, at the gorge near Corin's crossing

Actually it's at 53.65...

I wondered where it could be and just dropped in at one end... landed directly on the sword :D there's a violet glow around the sword.

Its in the northeastern edge of The Infectis Scar. Might not be visible from the highspots, but its in the earth glowing? so u cant miss it once u hapeen there

The sword is on the north side bt the easieast way to find it is tht u look for the ghosty people tht r fighting

People are right, it IS in the Infectis Scar. However, it's NOT at 53,65. I can't even get to that point while IN the scar. It's (at least as of v1.11.2) in the channel that goes the highest north. In there, it's actually at /tloc 54,66.

I entered into the infectous scar location from 49, 74.

Head down then at 55,68 turn left then a little ways further down veer a bit left and look for the spectral defenders. Also look for the purple glow.

Grab the sword, after that nothing will spawn any suprises.

Only thing is to keep an eye out for the various sludges.

i cant "use" the glowing sword or skull cant do anything:( does any 1 know why?

hehe i fell down into the infectis scar when i was OMW to the skull i looked for a way out and i saw that shattered sword so i took it... maybey a good idea to go search the scar can't remember the cords.... but at least search in the infectis scar

i just wanted to post where the infectis scar is for those who dont have the cord's addon (as i dont). the scar lies around corrins crossing, its safe enough to jump down into - as i did on my mount, the only thing to watch out for is the slime creatures that are down there :)
like others have said you can see it before you jump down - look for the pinkish glow.

itts not a drop... is at 49,59.

youll see a corpse of undead (with blue glow), and soldier spirits... near a rope and a broken barrel, you will see it with a red glow.

on this page below the drop rate click on the thing saying Shattered Sword of Marduk and a map will tell you were it is easy!
