Must have been updated. I collected 18, and had all five pure samples after testing the first six.

You use this on the bench in the Apothecary of the Undercity to get Un'Goro Tested Sample, which, according to wowhead, has a ~29% chance to contain the Pure Un'Goro Sample that you need. So in order to get 5 of them, you should probably bring at least 20. More if you have bad luck like I do =)

I collected 20 samples and got 5 pure samples after testing 13. To be safe get around 15-20 but some have been unlucky and had to collect 30+ samples.

The cloned oozes do not seem to drop these slime samples, unfortunately. :\

The Muculent Oozes in the northeast of un'goro drop this 100% of the time while the ". . .and a batch of ooze" quest is active.

Watch out when you trash quest items.
I just trashed this item and all the 40 other quest items have been deleted and the quest has been abandoned. There was a popup where I chose "Yes" by reflex, didn't think it would delete more than 1 item...
It is a messed up MoP "feature" that definitely shouldn't be in Classic.

While on this quest the droprate is 100% from the oozes that are naturally found in Un'goro. However, at low health they are able to cast a clone spell (non-interruptable). The cloned ooze does not drop the quest item. You can find the slimes randomly throughout the zone, not in any consolidated area like in Felwood.

The quest item stacks to 20. You could get lucky and only need a minimum of 5, but you won't. I collected one stack for the Felwood version of this quest and randomly engaged 2 more slimes and forgot to not auto-loot them. Do not try to delete a short stack, it will delete all of them in all stacks you have.

Having 22 in the Felwood quest, I ended up with 10 extra. It is RNG, remember that. I collected 16 for this quest and had to go back to Un'goro for more! If you are really tight on bag space collect just 1 full stack of 20 and you "should" be fine when you get back to Undercity.

The only tip I can give you is:

DROP.
THE.
QUEST.

Despite being 100% drop, there are like 10 oozes all around Un'Goro Crater.

By the time I wrote this post, I only found 11 oozes.

Didn't have any trouble finding oozes. I wondered how many samples I'd need.

I gathered 22 samples. In 12 samples I got my 5 pure samples.

In opening all the samples, I also got a couple of Arthas Tears and a Blindweed, as well as other vendor junk that maxed out at about 2s per sample.

I had 18
I got 2 large slimy bones, 9 broken arrows(x4 and x5), 4 gelatinous goo, 1 black truffle, 2 extinguished torch, 3 decomposed boot, and 5 Pure samples with 3 to spare
the extra 3 gave me slimy ichor, goo, truffle

Based on previous comments, and with WotLK Classic now released, it would seem that the 15 limit for these is re-imposed... I was merrily collecting these until I collected 15... a 16th one (killed two oozes together) wouldn't let me collect it and it disappeared... I haven't returned to Undercity yet to clear these out (and hope I'm lucky enough to get the 5 Pure samples), but just a head's up on this re-introduced limitation.
