Razorfen Downs is the best place to farm these. You get a minimum of 3 per run.

50% chance from Glutton
100% chance from the Coldbringer (somtimes 2 blues drop)
100% from skeleton boss
100% from the rare that sometimes spawns
100% from spider boss

So, if you just do Glutton, The Coldbringer and the Skelly boss, thats a minimum of 3.

You can do all the bosses in about 20 minutes, 4-5 shards a run. Not bad considering its 80g an hour on my server. (Andorhal)

Can be disenchanted from Aquamarine Signet 100% of the time.
They are fairly common on the Auction House since Jewelcrafters can make them.

Many 30s-50s instance boss drops have a 100% chance to DE into these shards, especially uldaman, scarlet monestary, and Razor Fin Downs

(Side Note) Its better to run all 3 of these instances and DE the boss drops instead of running one repeatedly because you can only reset instances so many times an hour (i forget how much)

If you don't have an easy aggro wipe (like feign or vanish), stay out of RFD, it's a huge waste of your time. The aggro radius is ridiculous on a level 70 and there are tons of pulls you can't avoid at all. It is not a fast way to farm shards at all.

If you have a high level Rogue which perhaps you're not levelling currently, you can park them outside Armory and just stealth to Herod (stopping off at the chest along the way if you're so inclined) - you can farm 5 of these in 20 minutes, then go back to whatever you were doing before.

I've been doing this a while, paid for mounts and epic mounts for all my alts via this method, they're currently selling for about 8g a shard on my server, so 40g for 20 minutes work isn't bad at all, that's not counting the greens from the chests, and of course the silk bandages which aid in levelling up those lowbie alts :)

The key to farming armory as a 70 is to pay close attention to the Scarlet Evokers. these pats are the only thing that should aggro you besides the guards at the start, i suggest waiting for them to enter a hallway, and kill them, should only take a few seconds, if not, hide at a corner, wait till they talk to a group, and run past him, mark him so you can see him later

k, wtf ... I must be uber-overpowered at 70 if there are so many people concerned with SM armory farming. "Hide Here", "Sneak Here", "don't over aggro", etc, etc.

I'm a 70 Fury warrior, no real aoe, no real CC, no real threat dump ..(ok, no threat dump at all) .. and I can wade thru armory to Herod in about 10 mins. Take him down before he had chance to "Blades of Light" once and Waltz out.

Now it's not fast like a rogue, but I can still do 2 full runs in 30 mins ... with absolutely no problems at all.

I can do up to 10 mobs at once with no concerns (yes, that's 10 level 36-38 elites). This is in DPS gear, in Zerker stance ... ie, not stacked with Armor and Stamina, and taking 10% more damage.

And no .. I'm not decked out in any Tier gear at all .. all crafted / quested / Pvp gear. I have never even entered Kara.

I hope I am misunderstanding the level 70 concerns here .. cos it worries me that so many level 70s can be concerned about soloing a level 40 instance.

If you are a rogue, farm them at RFD. I would imagine a druid would be fine too since you can skip agroing anything on the way to the bosses.

Great to do between AV games wile farmign honor, and is just a short FP away from Ogr.

I skip 2/4 bosses as I'm intersted in speed running.

Stealth to Glotton, everything he drops 100% goes to a small radiant. Stealth up the spiral (watch for the rare spawn boss - kill him too if you see him). On your way up, keep an eye out for chests in huts - per 10 runs I usually get 1 BOE blue (just my luck). Kill the cold bringer. He usually drops 2 blues that both go 100% to small rad. shards. Jump off the spiral close to the exit and reset.

I can do all 5 of my resets in 15-20ish mins, and average 13-14 Shards per group. On my server these are going for about 5g, so assuming it takes you 15 mins you are workign at the rate of 260 Gold an hour. Not too shabby for only requiring 125 enchanting, and being a small breather from honor farming.

I've just been looking for these on AH on Misha, vastly overpriced according to the buyout suggested here, bid for a couple under 8 g, but all buyouts are 9 + g. Have a lvl 40 priest with tailoring and enchanting who needs for fiery (to make money, not to level chant). Any other good suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can hit all the bosses in about 12 minutes if you take the right route. At the entrance, go right towards Glutton. Next, continue in that direction up the spiral and kill Amnennar. After him, jump down the spiral to the N/NE and it will lead to Mordresh. Then make your way to the spider boss. Clear the room out a bit then hit the gong. When finished, keep going the same direction down the hall. It will lead to the entrance.

I did this as a 70 feral druid.

im a lvl 62 hunter and this is what i do when grinding these
first i run straight to the gong boss and kill him 100% to get shard then i go on to do the skeleton boss 100% to get shard
then i run out and reset and repeat very easy and simple takes me 12 mins as im not 70 yet :P

My best way to farm these in Uldaman
There is quite a few bosses(The last boss needs 4 people to summon him)
You can farm these Plainly as much as you want because
By the time you do 5 runs it should have taken enough time that you can do another 5 runs.
At this, I make about 200g an hour(They sell for 5g each on my server)

If you can stealth, and have dash ability or speed potions..

Then as stated earlier; Razorfen Downs is the best place to farm these. 4 shards every 8-10 minutes in and out again.
Ready to reset and go again if needed.

All the blues in RFD disenchant to Small Radiants and the 2nd boss is almost guaranteed to drop two blues. If the rare elite spawns then your making 5 shards that run also.

Can't go wrong with RFD when its so quick and easy.
Forget navigating tight mobs in Uldaman and winding through its caverns. Plus you need at least 3 players to summon the last boss.
With RFD its all solo at 45+.

If your trying to get these little shards fast just run any armory or cathedral. if your getting them to twink with fiery enchants just bring along a guildie or make a compromist with a 30+ enchanter he gets a free run and you get your shards! its a very good method considering armory and catherdral are much shorter than RFD and you get at least 2 shards from cathedral every run!

A very easy way to get these is to take a trip down to RFD. As a sub spec rogue (lvl 77) I did a speed run and managed to get 5 blues from the bosses altogether. They all DE into the shard at what I assume is 100%. I have been doing this for a very long time and already have a Travelers Tundra Mammoth from doing it for a month.

If you are level 60, SOLO RFD. You can sneak past many groups as they have a very small aggro range. At the start, take the left path, travel to the room with the gong and clear it. Hit the gong 3 times, kill the spiders and Tuten'Kash. disenchant the blue item that drops for the 1st radiant shard. Keep following the path east, there will be a path and a bridge that leads to the bone pile. AoE the skeletons, kill Mordresh Fire-Eye and disenchant whatever blue drops for the 2nd shard. Move to the spiral (sort of south-west from here) and move up, anti-clockwise around the spiral. If you know about the shortcut jump, take it. Move to the top of the spiral to Amnennar the Coldbringer. Skilled mages (like me ^^) can get there without aggroing a single mob by sneaking past/blinking through groups of them. If you see a rare boss called Ragglesnout on the way, kill him and disenchant any blues that drop. Kill Amnennar, ignoring the ghosts he makes. He often drops 2 blue items you can disenchant. Now try and locate an abomination boss called Glutton. He walks around the bottom floor of the spiral. When he is moving to an open space, jump down to him and kill him. His HP and damage is quite high, but if you kill him he has a 50% chance to drop a blue item for a 5th small radiant shard. Now get ready to run out the instance and do this again for more shards! There should be a path that goes north at the most western part of the spiral that takes you back to the start (this would have been the path you would have taken if you turned right at the start of the instance). Exit the portal and remember to RESET the instance before you go back in. Note that there is another boss you can do from an escort quest started in the prisons before the bridge to the bone pile, but this tends to be very difficult (for me anyway) and would take too long. Lastly, be careful of the pigs and skeletons that sprint about all over the place. They tend to cause unwanted attention. Happy shard farming. Cryogenicist-undead mage@Ahn'Qiraj

I've had a few complaints about my last post. It seems small radiant shard farming takes too much time for anyone who isn't a mage because of the usefulness of blink, so mage enchanters are best for this. Also, I found out that skipping Tuten'Kash (the big spider summoned with gong) is slightly faster for making shards. I can also add that the ONLY place you should fight Glutton is at the path at the far west that leads back to the entrance portal, between the spiral and the first group of mobs. If you fight Glutton in the spiral, theres a large chance of patrols adding during the fight. Finally, I've now mastered shard farming to the point where I don't have to fight ANY mobs :D Hope you can do this too.

im a 59 paladin and i can do RFD in about 5 - 10 min depending on pat.... first when i walk in i go to the right jump on the wall to get over, then keep on going then i will kill gluton or w/e that big undead guy is, then i run up the spiral kill boss dude, jump down and kill skeleton boss, run out reset,, theres a vid on youtube i watched it helped.

Can do it as a 46 destro (!) lock. Takes some planning (wall jumping) as well as a AB trinket + VW sacrifice + run like mad + soul stone back up nearer the top of the spire. This allows you to bypass a ton of mobs that are otherwise unavoidable at this level. This means you're limited to doing it in no less than half an hour (which is fine, it takes maybe 40 minutes to do anyway).

Anyway, just letting you know that even at a low-ish level if you're careful this is a pretty good way to get a high gold/hour rate, approximately a shard every 10 minutes (12G on my server = 72G/hr?)

Guaranteed (afaik) to get two blues off the final boss. Also on the skeleton boss use rain of fire to take out his minions, popping AB trinket before comes in handy if you pull aggro from VW. Glutton is by far the hardest just dot him up, wand, and funnel your VW, making sure you avoid any pats.

Don't bother fearing in this instance.

as A 70 rouge, I found it easy to stealth past the guys, ignore the spider unless you have great gear, in which case it takes less time to clear the room than to skip the spider.

The easiest way I get the shards is I make Aquamarine signets with my jewelcrafter and send them to my enchanter to DE them...I get like 10 an hour buying the aquamarines off the AH

16 shards per 32 minutes .. shockadin (holy paladin 40 points in holy talents others in retry)
950 magic dmg , 13000 armor (gladiator items , vindicator ,engchants for more magic dmg), just run in cathedral (2 shards),
aoe all mobs inside then 2 choices .. divine shield (you cant heal without it .. they will interupt you) or to make turn on trinkets and avenger wrath .. wings plus dmg aoe .. after all that you started (me 9500 life ) you can heal your self .
after 8 enters it was closed for me .. dont know for how long

Here is another way to SOLO RFD, this time taking the right path and skipping Tuten'kash.

Enter RFD and take the right path, kill the first two group of undead.
Now you have two choices:

You can sneak right in between the two groups in front of you and then another group and follow the path until in joins the spiral
OR hug the left wall and drop down into the spiral and follow it to your right until the path joins.

If you do it fast enough glutton should just be arriving at this fork, if he isn't there yet just wait for him to walk by, you can lure in a little up the path and wont aggro patrols.
Kill Glutton
Next hug the wall/edge of the path and walk up the spiral keeping an eye out for ragglesnout, kill him if you spot him.
When you get to the top move to the inside of the path and jump up the ledge at the end to avoid the group at the top.
Kill Amnennar.
Now drop down the spiral to the north east and follow the path to Mordresh making sure to avoid mobs by hugging the walls.
When you get to the quilboar hug the right wall and go around the corner up the ramp and Kill Mordresh.

Now you can sneak back out the way you came, at the fork you killed glutton go up the path and sneak between the groups of mobs and run out of the instance, reset and repeat.

I did this with a unspecced, 0 talent, 60+ pally and its easy. On a good run the only groups I have to kill are the 2 at the start.

to the comment above, if you also include tuten'kash you get an extra shard per run, and this normally avoids overfarming and having to wait an hour to go back into the instance again if you've done too many resets

Thanks guys. I ran RFD last night as a lvl 49 hunter with good gear and after the first 2 runs of working out the best path for me i was farming shards like crazy. I farmed about 10 in my first hour but im sure it will be more now that ive done it a few times.

I also went and ran SM to get to Herod which is pretty easy as a hunter. Ran through the whole instance pulling some agro then used Feign right near the door for Herod. Took out gaurds and beat up Herod took about 5mins.

The AH on my server is pretty weak and there is often times when there are NO shards at all in there. So i usually get 6-8g per shards which is pretty good gold for my lvl. What i find funny is that i Enchant and offer Fiery enchant for 20-25g with my mats depending on the mood im in and i often get people who cry about the price. HAHA. 4x6g for shards and 1g for essence on my server =25g seems reasonable to me right?

wow, lately radiant shards havn't even been in the ah in Chromaggus realm. but i've found some really good deals yesterday, either some ppl dont kno how much they are worth, or else they just don't care, but they been selling a few here and there for me for 2g each! lol. but i guess i was lucky yesterday, no luck today =[

My Warlock Salagoo(39) on the Realm Gilneas runs sm atleast once a day so i mainly run cathedral and the end drops D/E into The Small radiant shard Selling for 12-14gold a piece on my realm im not cheap to guildies ill take off 2gold but anyone else its 12gold a piece im trying for a stack before i hit 40 so i can get 200gold to get infront of my warrior(44)so add me if your on gilneas *Peace*

So, is everyone saying that I CANNOT farm these unless I can disenchant blue items? I am a hunter who needs these to get enchants (from enchanters) since AH prices are TOO HIGH. There are lots of hunters on here who say they got shards .. Im confused, please help.

RFD is the best place to farm Small Radiant Shard for sure. As a 65 frost mage took me only 6 minutes to kill 3 bosses ( skiped the spider boss,waste of time) and got 4 shards.Made 5 runs so : 20 small radiant shards
30-35 mins if you do not pull any group mobs

So SM is fairly a long one compaired to RFD. If You know the instant u can skip every thing but the 4 bosses. only 2 mobs need to be killed near the gong u hit. other then that there is a 5th boss who is a luck catch. u can get him 5 times straight or not see him 20 runs through. realy a luck of the draw on the instant reboot each time. But i can clear all 4 bosses withing 12 minutes and get 4-5 shards a run 5-6 if the 5th boss is around. im a level 65 warrior.

Only the blue items offer a 100% chance of a shard. look at the list above, most green items are a 3 - 14% chance. Remember your statistics 101 course? Even DE'ing 7 green items does not promise you a shard. each item is 3 - 14%.

At level 60 I can run SM Armory in about 5 minutes and disenchant the BoE Rare that the boss drops. Its pretty easy gold too, thats how I got my epic mount.

Any SM boss will drop a Blue Item DE it and in 98% of cases you get a small radiant shard. I do about 6 runs a night just to keep AH full. I do Cath and get atleast 2 per run. I make about 80g a week for about 2 hrs a night.

RFD seems to be the best place to farm these. I can get 4 in an hour from boss drops. Or you can run SM cath a couple of times. Either way it takes about an hour of farming.

The list says Warbringer's Belt DE into Small Radiant Share 100%, but I just DEed one and got 2 Vision Dust.

Seemed like a good idea to buy the belt for 1g or 2g and get a material worth about 5g, but not necessarilly so.

I tried disenchanting 4 different items on this list, and all of them were between level 35 and 40 as well, and NONE of them yielded a small radian shard. So much for your theoretical knowledge on this subject. LOL

Ok the only time you will have a for sure bet of getting a small radiant shard is if you de blues of this level range, other than that it is a small chance that you will get one. It isnt 100%, you will prolly get alot of dust, some essences, and a few shards.

i can make black mageweave leggings and vest and whatnot, and like 30-40% these come out. its pretty cost efficient, as the mageweave clothes dont take much to make at all, and they sell for 8g on my server
