Quite worthwhile for a warlock, would he not be in the posession of his Enchanted Gold Bloodrobe. For a priest the robes of Arugal (15 levels lower, from SFK) seems the better choice still. Perhaps only for mages?

These robes are simpley great for Fire mages and Demon Sac Warlocks, and fairly nice for other clothies.

Note: Bring the Light is an Alliance only quest.

Honestly any caster type class this is great for during the 39s sure this is decent, regardless of spec a caster should use it until an upgrade is found

This is no doubt, a great robe for any cloth class, like skitzosmeagol said. I feel that warlocks should not do the Enchanted Gold Bloodrobe quest because by the time they finish that quest they will be around the level required to run RFD and get these robes.

Extremely solid robes for any cloth wearer until Outland. Seriously, unless you don't own BC, you don't have to bother with anything else until you begin reaping the Outland quest rewards, which will be vast improvements, as these will easily last you until level 60.

Well....Call me a noob but.....I'm a lock, and, (Because I'm demon specced) I have my vw take all the damage. I almost never get hit, and I do fine questing.

As an affliction lock, I'm stiill using this at 57. There's really nothing that matches it in terms of stamina until you either get the Dreadmist Robe (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=16700) or if you skip LBRS and head straight to outland, you'll get Shadowcast Tunic (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=31717) shortly after arriving.

Either way, with or without an HP enchant, this can last a lock a long time.

I'm using these on my Holy Pally, along with Whitemane's Chapeau.

And some other cloth, so I can have a little intellect until the decently nice stuff when you get higher level.

This is a great robe, and I DEFINITELY recommend it to anyone still using the Robes of Arugal. For Mages, it's the perfect upgrade to the venerable chestpiece from Shadowfang.

Currently leveling a warlock and ive skipped to farm for this robe, even if the stamina is great, its kinda hard to get, and there is spellcrit instead of spelldmg. I would take it if i got someone to farm it with me but no way an ally lock pciks up pugs for RFD that easy. Robes of Arugal with +100 hp ench still lasts me and im around 40.

This is great for a destruction lock as well, considering they act a lot like a fire mage. 20 stamina gives you more hp to tap into mana. As Sentan says, that's how you're supposed to play a lock anyway. It's true. locks hardly ever play with full health- that's what life tap is there for. Though the hit to intelect is a def nerf for locks, the spell crit chance is another great plus for des considering you'd live off of crits like a firemage. If you can get your hands on the EBR, use it untill you can upgrade to this. I think this robe outweighs it.

after the preWotLK this is a gd item for hunter druid shaman aand paladin if you need a chest

ok its cloth but its 130 hp 150 mana and at lv 37 i got 2% crit of it to a total 13.9crit

its decent for me togheter with the neck from fireeye

I started using it on my 39 rogue instead of warden's wraps, because I wanted to look cool :D Theoretically speaking I get a little lower AP but more crit, but practically I didn't notice any difference, I still pwn as much as I always have been.

If a warlock has some assistance, the Gold Bloodrobe can be obtained at 31. That gives 8 levels of usefulness until this robe can be obtained/worn.

You mean 6 levels - as this robe only requires lvl 37 to wear.

dude lol this is a casters chest, it's not for rogues, if i see a rogue wearing this i would laugh at him, i know it has crit which is good for rogues or other melee classes but it has intellect which is a VERY VERY BIG no-no for melee types

Guys, no more confusion.

I got it in RFD off of Coldbringer, the final boss. Get a group together and ONLY attack him. It didn't drop the first time we ran it but it did drop the second time.

This robe is primarily designed for Warlocks. Warlocks do not rely on spirit for mana, they rely on hitpoints.

At level 40, 200 health is equal to at least 200 mana (more with talents). That equals two high quality DOT spells or a shadowbolt. With talents that can be a good 500+ dmg.

For other casting classes, there are better items. Robe of Power is a good choice, or Dreamweave Vest. Those both give +int and +spi.

FYI, for those NOT familar with how warlocks work: warlocks transform hitpoints into mana with an instant cast spell. The time used to regenerate mana is part of our aggro control (downtime). The most efficient way for a warlock to work from full HP/0 mana is to lifetap to about 1/2 mana 1/2 hitpoints. Spirit and +hp (self buff) will regenerate to full hp/mana fairly quickly, just as if a priest had taken a ton of +spirit items. Thus this item is perfect for 'locks.

A. Whether or not stam should be taken over spirit for mages is debateable, BUT these robes have a pretty low amount of intellect compared to others, and don't give +dmg and healing. If you're a mage, I'd suggest Robe of Power https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=3920/血帆海图

Unlike locks, who very much rely on stam and HP, mages want lots of mana, which they get from a high amount of intellect. As well, things like +dmg is always good. Now, I'm not sure how good these are for a priest, but if you're a mage and there's a lock in your group wanting these, know that he/she needs it more and let him/her have it.

Im a 40 shadow priest, have currently been using robes of power up till now for the +healing/ spell damage. I got lich robes first time in RFD them and have decided to alternate between the two. There isnt a great amount of intellect difference so that isnt a factor, and in shadowform i wont need to rely on the +healing/ damage, however i WILL need the + stamina for the health as you i cant heal myself in shadowform, so i would recomend the robes of power when healing- good intellect for crit heals and +healing, and robes of the lich for pvp/ pve for the addictional hp and still good intellect.

personally for my style of game play on my priest these wouldnt work to my conditions im a spirit priest through and through, these have no spirit whic hi can live with on some armor but 20 stamina what priest needs stamina whe nshe can heal herself 4 times over with 20 int. so personally id pass on these but they do look pretty nifty :P

I can't believe I never saw these robes before. I'm running a stat comparison with the Enchanted Gold Bloodrobes right now.

Enchanted Gold Bloodrobes:
55 armor
+10 STA
+17 INT.

Robes of the Lich:
64 armor
+20 STA
+10 INT

So, in the long run.

ROL gives 9 more armor and 10 more stamina than the Enchanted Gold Bloodrobes, but 7 less int. On the other hand, that can easily be remedied by wearing items to increase INT. Besides, Warlocks can get mana through either a high Int or using Life Tap and having a high STA. So, honestly, although other classes MIGHT be able to get away with them (wouldn't know, don't have any priests or mages high enough to wear), they ARE Warlock oriented.

with the new pvp system you can easily create your own twink without a main on the same server to help you. Thats what Im doing atm.. (I can always lvl up later) As a lock twink I farmed all the Arathi basin gear for lvl 38, the staff and ring from WSG, and Im trying to get this robe and that sweet hat from SM cath :)

This robe is "made" for affliction locks :) (ofc other casters should be able 2 roll for it)

and the mana shield example .. back then u could only absorb physical dmg .. and u have 2 pay 2 mana for 1 dmg so the 15 10 part doesnt matter ..

Call me a noob but this is great for druids who like to pvp and hang around at 39 for a while or who like to twink, even as feral specced, armor difference is only 2 % defence against leather so no big issue.

We can't get mail at 40 as hunters and shammies, so they prob will never look at this, but for the shammy same rule counts if u want to pvp at 39, there is nothing better. (DE or sell asap when u hit 40 though).

Spirewindfetter might still be very good although it is lvl 30, this one with new + lvl 35 enchants in combination with bracers, u can either go insane on stam or go for the + 6 on chest and + 4 on bracers, which is perfect for any hybrid class.

Bit silly to run around in AB or WSG with a robe , but hey who cares.

Even feral droods like this, u should have sta and int on something, btw resto and feral = good combination as any high lvl drood knows. We have cross talents which are really great.

PS any hybrid who takes him/herself serious has doubble or tripple gear anyhow, but when u are low on cash /w a high lvl friend and go for it. droprate pretty good

Edit: Lol, Lo' and behold out in stranglethorn today on my 44 warlock wearing her new "improved" -.- Robes of the Lich, when I notice in my quest log that the crappy reward for the quest "Curse of the Tides", Robe of Crystal Waters, which was some dross uncommon reward with some int and spirit has now become Robe of Crystal Waters. Virtually identical now to my (used to be) lovely Robes apart from 1 less stam, 2 more int and 2 less spell crit rating...Seems I needn't have bothered going though the rigmarole of getting several pugs together and clearing razorfen downs for that robe that was just bleeding perfect for an affliction lock from 39 well into her 50s :(

I don't get why everybody's complaining. For me 7 Stam in exchange for 14 spell crit rating appears to be more than just a fair deal.
Take for example the Gems. Gleaming Dawnstone has 8 spell crit rating while the stamina version of blue gems, Solid Star of Elune, has 12 stamina. So I would assume crit is more valuable than stamina as two comparable gems give different quantities of the particular stat values. And at low lvls the crit rating means even more crit since it becomes less effective with every lvl up you make. So 14 crit rating are more than 1,5% crit on lvl 39 and this is a whole bunch. As a mage im willing to sacrafice these 70 HP for the nice crit boost. Of course this logic isn't applyable on any class

Because not everyone's a mage. What the hell use is 1-2% extra crit to an affliction or demo lock? Gief stamina plix. I used these robes pre-2.3 all the way up to the robes of servitude (and that was a hard decision). I kept them in my bank for the memories, just saw the change today and immediately sold them. GG blizz, ruining the best 'lock robes out there.

ok i hte how ppl are saying this is meant for warlocks, and warlocks only. it benefits mages JUST as well, and just because it has stamina and is cloth doesnt mean its just for locks. EVERY caster can use spell crit rating, and EVERY caster can use mana. now heres the part that rly annoys me, EVERY CLASS IN THE GAME USES STAMINA, not just locks who throw it away on mana, EVERYONE uses it. idc if ur a hunter, or a pally, or a mage, or a lock, u need stamina to live. stupid locks need to stop being greedy, and if a mage needs it too, he shouldnt have to step aside just bc it has stamina, thats the stupidest thing ive heard in a while

Edit: i am aware that before the change, it could be considered a "warlock" robe and to some extent i can agree with that, but even after the stamina nerf and the 14 spell crit rating it is still being "claimed" by warlocks, which is whats annoying me. let it go guys!

Okay, there's been a lot of people complaining about other people complaining here. The bottom line is, this robe used to have stats that heavily favored warlocks. I'm not saying stamina doesn't benefit everyone, but warlocks get more out of stamina than a mage or priest. It is not only the source of health, but also their source of mana replenishment. What the 2.3 changes have done is made this robe more generic for casters. They traded 70 hit points for some crit rating. For mages and priests, this is great. For warlocks, this isn't so great (in particular if they are Affliction and Demo build). It's done, Blizzard isn't changing them back. Let's just continue to play and try not to let this bother us. With how quickly leveling from 1-60 has become and how much better even lvl 57 greens are from Outland, it's not like you were going to use this thing forever anyway.

So i just ran RFD with a moonkin drood and a shammy (im a shadowpriest)... our tank and our lock bailed out on us but we pushed forward and this drops along with the mail armor for the shammy, and guess what the druid needs! and wins! claiming that he needed a replacement for his robes of arugal... i dunno about you guys but i think that cloth wearers should have first dibs before any other class.. and if i run it again ill probably level to 40 which i dont want because i want to pvp some more ... GAHH!

oh and i was so pissed off that i hearthed forgetting that i needed to loot the head for a quest gg moonkin druid!

i have a shadow priest with these robes and really love thim the stam is grate and good int really dont see the point of spirit for a SP and the +spell hit keeps me from waisting mana on resited spells, the truth: spirit is good for healers and not much els will trade spirit for stam or int any day

Secky robe for the ladiez ;) Have a funny story about a pug I was in a few mins ago... our priest released spirit when he died during the fight (inexperienced war didnt aoe the adds). We killed the guy and the robe dropped and he attempted to run back to get it. Me and the war passed (only guys left) and he made his way back up and got it :3 Now all he needs are 6 more levels to equip it :p

:) I have a great and horrible disdaine for PuGs, but I always try to put them together. On my sever clothies are really rare on the horde side at low levels so when I'm in a group I'm usually the only clothie last month I was level 36, but bored so I went into a PuG group and we ran RFD, Robes of the Lich dropped first try, the only reason I was CONSIDERING doing RFD in the first place! :)

while farming for a Coldrage Dagger, we got like 15+ of these robes and no Coldrage Dagger. we found a easy way to farm this guy, take the shortcut to the spiral, just have the lowbies at the bottom of the spiral and me going up and solo'ing they guy and everyone at the bottom gets the loot also. =D if you really want this robe and on Garona, mail me, i'll take ya for some run.

For all you people saying "only warlock, no priest/mage should have this," meh. This robe is for all caster classes. Almost every defense towards locks having this is backed up by scenarios in which the priest/mage is in an instance. Last time I checked, there was something called SOLOING. And last time I checked, sta is good for soloing since you have no tank, because if you had a tank, that wouldn't be soloing now would it? And by saying this, I say that all cloth classes should roll on this, and not let the warlock take a fine chestpiece just because of stubborn beliefs.

i play a mage on shattered hand i really dont care what anyone says first of all its really hard to find a good tank that is good enough to keep the agro off of me, 2nd i like to farm and when i farm i AOe so no priest, no tank to keep me alive just my armor and my utitlity spells, 3rd im on shattered hand you can have the best comp in the world and it doesnt matter u still lag, 4th im a flagger i play bg way more than anyone in my bracket except one rogue, so i have to try to make it to their base and back and at least 50% of the time i dont have backup so i like to say the extra 200 health helps alot espesciall when w/o it i only have like 1400 hp,also i use alot of diff gear like a few pieces of fierywrath, so i often hit for 700 and i draw lots of agro, and u never now whenur gona have to take over for a fallen tank i mean mages shouldnt but on more than one occasion it was mea nd the priest left over and betwenn the heals, manashield and aoes ive come out alive so dont say thats warlock only

Just get it. Get it as soon as you can, and spend the cash to get a +100 health enchant. This robe will serve you well.

If you're using Demonic Sac to grind, there just isn't a better robe for you. I wore this to 60, and I'm still wearing it after respeccing to MD/Ruin. I'm a little bummed that I'll be replacing this item with my Legionnaire's Dreadweave Tunic.

Don't waste any felcloth or Demonic runes making a felcloth robe. Save em for Robe of the Void.

This is an excellent item. I'm sure it's handy for priests & mages too, but no class benefits from this robe like a lock.

As a Mage, I must say, these robes are awesome. 200 extra health? Hell yes! I got this on my second run into RFD, and my on my first I got the Deathmage Sash. I must say I'm absurdly pleased. It may not have a lot of int, but that stamina could mean the difference between life or death. Especially on my PVP server.

As a priest, it's the arrogance of Warlocks that gets to me most. As soon as there is a caster item that offers good Sta, automatically every warlock in existance claims it as theirs; that it is the BEST for a warlock and everyone else should pass if a lock is in the group. The idea behind high stamina for a lock is Life Tap right? Drain your life to refill your mana, right? Who fills your life bar back up after you've drained it to refill your mana? The priest does. So while you have the obvious reason for Sta as a lock, priests need just as much sta as locks do. If a priest is healing and pulls agro, it's a pain to get that agro off of him. If he dies, there goes your healing. Sure there's the argument that the lock can soulstone the priest and if the priest dies, he can just come back. True, but if the priest has pulled so much agro that it resulted in his/her death, then it's reasonable to assume it will happen again. Once that stone's gone, there goes your healing. So keeping your tank and healer alive is TOP priority. Priests NEED sta to stay alive to keep you alive, Locks GREED for sta so they don't have as much downtime.

P.S. - With all the agro the high DPS mages pull, it's obvious that they need the extra Sta to stay alive long enough for someone to pull the agro off of them, so really, every caster needs sta just as much as another.

If you're a priest and you're afraid of getting aggro, then why not use your Fade button, hmm? A good priest cannot take aggro off of a good warrior. Priests have spells that prevent them from getting aggro, anyway.

魔化金线血袍 lock prefers the int straight up than having to drain my life to get it back, and even if you do argue robes of the lich are better for a lock than other classes, it's a much smaller upgrade from those to the lich ones than any other classes upgrade will be.. my mage/priest went from somethign with 10 int and 7 spirit or so to the robes of the lich.. my warlock I'd pass these robes to any other caster that needed because of the quest robes we get.

these are good caster robes in general, not just warlocks.
im a mage who grinds and solos alot an the 20 stamina is a huge bonus

i say robes of the lich is better i still have enchanted gold bloodrobes (unfortunately) but i prefer rotl because it gives me more mana and health and it looks really hot : )

All classes need stamina, I don't think anyone denies that, and I don't think anyone should get anywhere near upset if any cloth-wearing class rolls on this. Since we're arguing, however, it is definitely more suited to a warlock. Level 60s will not be wearing this, so let's refrain from reasoning relating to activities in MC etc.

Priests do not need that much extra stamina, even if soloing. If you can't kill your mob before (or shortly after) your shield runs out, you're doing something wrong. If you're pulling aggro constantly during raids, you're doing something wrong.

I've never devoted significant playing time towards a mage, but I certainly know they've got mana shield and a number of other mana-dependent means to keep mobs away from you and deal damage. I can't imagine stacking anything but intellect.

Warlocks need stamina. The class is designed that way. It's also why they're one of the most fun, interesting, and challenging classes to play. It's not just that STA = INT, but it equals MORE int. With imp. lifetap, every 100 health = 120 mana. They drain life, convert it to mana, nightfall, wash rinse and repeat. A good lock will rarely need maintenance during a raid, and will have ZERO downtime soloing. It's because of their high stamina.

Again though, if you're a lock and lose your roll to a priest/mage, suck it up and run the dungeon again. It's a caster robe. Just because it may help you the most, doesn't mean it won't help anyone else.

I am sooooooooo mad! I have done RFD now 7 times and still have not got this robe! I have got the stupid helm 4/7 times dagger twice and the robe once but another cloth user won it!

it took me 4 times soloing RFD for this robe in two days, i was about to say hell with it, so i started out with 20 soul shards, when i finally got Amnennar the Coldbringer i was on my last shard and my Felguard was about to die just after i killed him i picked up the robes. i used to had the enchanted gold bloodrobes up to lvl 52 which is really sad. i happy for now.

Just an opinion, but remember that Demonology Warlocks above the other specs of Warlock put +Stam as the most important stat in alot of cases, not forgetting that a percentage of Stam transfers to pets. Having a low level Warlock myself (Lv22) I have over 1K HP wih gear that favors +Stam, Not to say it's a Warlock item, I will happily share a Need roll with anyone that is after it for an upgrade when I finaly get to the point of RFD.

But a side note, Although I cannot speak from a Mages point of View, I do have a lv41 Shadowpriest, And in all honesty am not interested in this item for it. I would "Assume" that All Priests/Mages are in the basket, but wouldn't +Int/Damage/Shadow/Healing/ect be more productive?

ran this inst. 2 days ago. i died when it dropped. (was the only caster who could use it so it was almost mine). went back to the inst. cuz the other party members waited for me so i could get the robe but the $%^&ing inst. was bugged or something. when i walked in it it automatically has sent me back to the greaveyard. tried to walk in the inst. 3 or 4 times.

that was really sad :(((

Honestly, these are great robes for Priests, Warlocks, and Mages.

While many people claim that these are warlock robes and any other casters should pass if a warlock is in the group, I feel that is bs.
Why?
Because these are the best robes for that lvl PLUS the fact that they are not 'warlock tailored'- the stats are non-unique to warlock.
Who said that ALL priests must want to up spirit?
Stamina = more HP.
More HP = Longer living Priest.
Longer living priest = enough time for that critical holy nova, flash heal, or even the 3.5 second greater heal.
So grow up all you warlocks- If a priest wants to spec in having more stamina then so be it. Spirit gains really mean squat if you are dead.

The robes are great for mages, priests and warlocks alike.

Got this robe first RFD run, didn't win a roll the whole time i was their till this came up even thou i was only a 37 lock at the time the group was cool about me rolling for it.

A lvl 40 Priest also rolled for it, but he already got some good cloth stuff from the run and congats me for winning.

LOL only just got my blood robe too, so i couldn't be happier.

so i run RFD on my priest.. and the loot rules state ONE blue per person.. we kill the skeleton the necklace drops me + mage rolls, mage wins - congrats.. then we get to end boss of the instance, robe drops mage rolls at last second.. and beats me.. WTF apparently he/she doesn't know what ONE blue per person meant

Because its not as good an upgrade for priests you think its not great for mages either? This is a GREAT upgrade for pvp mage! Im after it my self right now (42 mage) Just haven't been able to find a PuG and the guild hasen't had much time to run me...

I tend to view getting loot as a rather individualistic kind of thing. If it upgrades me, and has the stats I feel I need, I will roll need. There is no shame in doing so. People who complain about items being for a certain class should look at the item again, and notice that nowhere does it say Class: Warlock. It is their own greed that motivates them to state that an item "belongs" to a certain class when in truth, it does not. If one puts forth the effort to kill a creature, they should be allowed the right to loot an upgrade, without having to deal with the shrill and whining cry of greedy 'tards everywhere. /violin

well everybody is complaining about any cloth class needing this. Your totally right why it says CLOTH.

but ofcourse one out of the 3 classes could use this best.

in my opion it is a warlock. wanna know why?

a priest doesnt need stamina when he has a good tank. no way a priest can heal so much that he takes over the agro if the warrior is tanking correctly.

a mage doesnt need stamina when he has a good tank. you have to have like triple the dps and the healers dps to get agro over him. and you can get your dps as high as you want but still you dont pull agro from a warrior who tanks correctly.

a warlock can use lifetap and hellfire so he does need a lot of stamina look at the tier 2 sets and look at the stamina a warlock gets and what a mage and priests get. warlocks are build this way and should get things like this.

one more thing about the dps and healing. if you look at MC raids. i mean the best of the best. warriors need to tank with duelwield and sunder armor to keep the agro. why? because warlocks have some nice crits(max 11k check warcraftmovies.com) if you dont believe me. those are the only class who can overagro a warrior in a raid. and maybe a rogue who is getting above 400dps. mages and healers cant meet the agro at all. witch simply means that mages, healers and almost all other ranged classes dont really need stamina. execpt warlock and a mage that needs to do big AoE and even then they dont really need it(priest shield and keep healing :P trust me if the priest is paying attention and has no lagg the mage/lock shouldnt be able to die)

Wow, what passion from evry1 about what class it belongs to! Stam affects everyone. Everyone needs it, everyone. But, there are those who this item can benifit more from. Am I saying that Locks get first dibbs? No. But, I beleive that a Lock could benifit MOST from this item. Here are a few reasons why:

1. Priests can heal themselves, Locks and Mages cannot.
2. Priests should find something with more Intl, because the are always needing to recharge, it gets old and annoying, but thats the deal. It says on warcraft website that a disadvantage to being a Priest is low Stam, so you knew that going in from the beginning.
3. Old arguement: Life tap is 100 stam = 120 mana, also, every lvl a lock gets is +2 Intel and only +1 Stam. Also, Life tap is instant cast, so no waiting.
4. Locks can pull aggro VERY easy from any tank, if anyone other than the main tank or a Lock is pulling aggro.... then neither is doing their job right.
5. Yes, Locks have the Voidwalker, (built in tank), but in an instance or raiding, you hardly use them, you use the imp. You dont want the VW pulling aggro with taunt unless a mob is hitting the healer. The VW get thier stam as a percentage of the locks stam, so its a benifit for both.
6. With AoE damage spells like Hellfire, Locks have saved my hide from tanking very large mobs nicely. Hellfire, dont forget, is same damage to enemy(s) and the Lock so lvl 4 Hellfire is 306 dmg every second for 15 seconds.(for those who cant do that in their head thats over 4500dmg, and BTW, you probably pulled aggro from the baddies who didnt die, you have to recover from that as well).
7. Mages or Priests dont have anything like Hellfire that does damage AoE to self.

Again, stam is important for everyone, duh. I dont agree that Locks are the only ones who should roll on it. If you can use it (as in you can wear cloth), and you NEED it, (hence the difference b/w GREED) and you equip it, (and not disenchant it, ya slimy bastard) then roll away. Its a good robe, get it!

Anyone who doesnt qualify for the above statement, and rolls on it instead of passing, should have there behind handed to them.

4.Enchanters
5.Everyone Else

Well your all wrong about Warlock item. Have you morons even though about when the priest and or mage is soloing? Don't overlooking other details dumass. And the %^&*ing Warlocks have Voidwalkers which should be tanking when they solo. In my thoughts I believe this goes to a Mage or Priewst first before a ^&*!ing newb warlock who doesn't know how to make his !@#$ing voidwalker tank.
