the chest piece is extremely rare and i see it on the ah going far above the average price listed of 68g. first time i saw it was i think...300gish. probably the best tank armor for the 30-39 bracket.

You can farm these at Scarlet Monastery (SM). Find Scarlet Champions near the temple where Scarlet Commander Mograine resides.
This chestpiece dropped for me after about the 5th Champion.

The Scarlet armor is NOT a set you can farm easily, it is only meant for show, not stats. WARNING! Odds are against you for getting ANYTHING in this set. I ran the armory twice, got the Scarlet Bracers once! Unless you are trying to twink a lower level toon, as a 70, stray far from the Scarlet armor.

I saw this drop on my very first SM run, and have not seen it since (I've easily run this a hundred times). Nobody wanted it, and I won the greed roll.

Recently, I decided that I would never use it, so I put it up for auction with a 200g buyout (pressing my luck). To my absolute shock and delight, it was gone within hours. Disregard the listed buyout price and aim high if you've got one to sell.

Despite what some people say, the belt, gloves and bracers are extremely common.. sometimes droping 2 or 3 in a single run (arm or cath at least) just the boots and the chestpiece which can be a bother. Also it is amazing tanking gear because of its high armor and amazingly high stamina. The stregnth boost is good too.

I sold a Scarlet Chestpiece for 150g on the Dragonblight server today. I think it's kinda server-specific for what price you can sell such items as the Scarlet Chestpiece. Not only, depending on how rich people are, but also dependent of the kinda people that are on the server. I have the feeling that on Dragonblight aren't as many lvl 39 twinks as there are on other servers. I have done lots of bg at lvl 38-39 with my hunter and I think I've only seen like 2 twinks. I don't know how this is on other servers, but Dragonblight is, in my opinion, not the best server to sell this item.

Btw, I think the most major benefit of this item, is not that there's probably more strength on it, than on other items of lvl 34, but the huge amount of extra stamina you get. Anyway, you're lucky to get it. If you get it on a warrior, it can be good to sell this one, in AH. It's a very good item, but the cash is very handy for getting your mount.

Btw, this one dropped off one of the first Scarlet Champions, while getting a boost from a lvl 70 guildmate. I guess I was just lucky to get it. =) sell it around 150g-200g.

I was just taking another look at Scarlet Monastery earlier today, and of course I came across the Scarlet Armor. Just for the fun of it I linked it to the dressing room, along with the tabard. I remembered the shoulders from Herod, but thought it was a shame that there was only one of the shoulderguards, so here's what I came up with for a set:

Ragesteel Shoulders
Scarlet/Ragesteel Chestpiece
Scarlet/Ragesteel Gloves
Ragesteel Helm
Scarlet Boots
Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade
The Untamed Blade, or Ashkandi´.

This would probably only be uptainable for oldschool raiders though, but other people could probably find another weapon if they can't go Blackwing Lair.

my guess as a 39 hunter trying to get to lvl 40 right now I have "ravager" from herod...I got all the armor off him OTHER than scarlet legs, i've wanted the set for a long time and just I don't think the trouble finding it is worth it, I mean if you get it great, but still i've had the erge to get the set...I think it's more of a want than need for the scarlet set(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

The math is correct, if a bit unclear, since he doesn't specify that there are six Scarlet Champions in SM Cath. 400/6 = 66.

A few points since people always seem to be having trouble with statistics:

On average, you're going to have to run SM-C 66 times before seeing this.
Running it 66 times doesn't mean you'll get it (there's still a 15,2% chance you don't).
There is no amount of runs that will guarantee you'll ever see a drop,.
The probability of it dropping on the 66th run is the same as it dropping on the first.
If you have already run SM-C 65 times and not gotten it, you're likely going to have to do 131 runs (another 66) to get it.

Random chance is pretty harsh that way.

Strange as it seems, i was getting boosted in SM Cath and i was looking on this wowhead page and wanting it to drop and then it did ! i was like wtf ! I am a paladin and it is awsome, now got 1.8k hp and lvl 37 :)

Ive ran through SM (or at least the cathedral) more times in the the past 3 days than i ever want to remember. Yet i still haven't gotten the chest piece. I'm about to throw some bricks at Blizzard.

So as of now and in spite of Blizzard If anyone plays on Nesingwary I would LOOOOOOOOVE to buy this piece off of you, I have every other piece but this.

Well me and a group got boosted through SM like 4 times today. (dont remember which part) anyways this chestpiece dropped twice (the 2 first runs) Either we were lucky or the droprate = NOT that low. Idk :S

Got the whole set, only at level 42. The toughest things to get are boots and chest. Since they are not BOP all others want them not to wear it but to sell it.... I saw it in AH for 80G. That is a lot of money on level 34 when you can wear it.

Went to SM like 35 times Armory and Cath. to get the whole set. Plus when chest appeared had to give 25G's to Pally just not to roll it. Damn expensive to get it.

However, if you want this set, Herods Shoulders, His helm and Ravanger are must to have. Or Aegis shield with Allience or Horde quest prizes Sword of Omen or Sword of Serenity.
Well going there like 35 times, i got a hold of all of the things.

The good approach here is if you need one specific item tell in front of the isntance so everybody have it in mind, and don't roll for things you don't need, not even a greed ones, so when times come and your item is dropped you have more chances to get it, cause everybody saw you need this and not other items.
Well it worked for me, but of course there are other scenarios when one will roll for everything. Also if you see a not a greedy person, get him in the friend list so next time you go there you have a chance to invite this person and have more chances to get something you like.

I hunted this Piece for almost 2 weeks straight at the Cathedral. They say it drops from the Scarlet Champions at .003% rate.

I ran the Cathedral around 70 times. I never managed to get the piece to drop. I had a few odd green drops from the Champions, the odd crappy axe like forresters axe of the boar or something equally worthless but never the chestpiece.

In the end I paid a high price for it on the Auction House, I was glad to finally have it and it is a really nice looking set. FOr a 47 warrior using it is just silly since my plate is vastly superior but simply for collector value I LOVE my scarlet set. I now have everything from Scarlet Monastery except the Hand Of rightousness which I had and sold.

To anyone else who is going to attempt to hunt for this chestpiece I wish them the best of luck. I spoke to a 60 Rogue who farms SM a lot and he said that in a round 400 runs on the Cathedral, he had seen it drop just 3 times. So thats an indication just how LUCKY you are if this thing drops.

As stated by others the piece, shows the top half of the white scarlett tabbard witht he red maple leaf in the centre, it is a very pretty set especially if u r like me and have a mostly red guild tabbard.

shoulders and helmet are not included in the standard set, so you will have to pick something that looks nice with the rest.

Of course Warriors and Paladins can wear plate at level 40. But people also like to stay at level 39 and do BG a lot and get nice rewards. And Scarlet Chest Piece happens to be one of the better mail chest equipment. I myself wouldn't buy it for that crazy price but I would run SM for it.

Just a tip for anyone farming this chest with a 70 alt. Skip EVERYTHING but the champions. It seems obvious, but just had to say it. I could clear out every champion in the instance, run back out, and reset in under 15 min with my 70. Especially if you have strong AoE or pet for the rest of the adds in the Cath. Run in, burn down, run out, reset, rinse and repeat. I had my warrior's chest, bracers and gauntlets in under 20 runs...and it took virtually no time out of my day. Good luck.

Just did Sm cath (Wowhobbs style) 15 times. This chest dropped twice for me :).. And as I can see its pretty rare? :) cool.. But how much does it sell for?.. 130g is too much I think? is it a twink item?

Got the boots last night when joining a free cath run group, ran the instance about 5 times and the boots dropped though i think they'd run it 2 times before i joined. So that's 7 times we ran it, and the chestpiece didn't drop, boots did, belt dropped twice in one run and through all of the runs we didn't get the legs from morgraine. All in all i think it's just when you decide to run it cuz you could run it forever and never get the item && if you want the set that bad you should be willing to get ripped off in the AH

After reading the comments above I was dismayed at the thought of ever seeing this drop. I have been farming it on my main for a 39 Paladin alt (last piece of the set) and after 100+ resets of Cathedral the chest finally drops from a Scarlet Champion. So if you are persistant it will pay off in the end. Also made about 1000G from vendoring all the other junk that dropped as well as a few very nice BoE rare items which sold well on Auction House.

As far as the boots were concerned I never saw them drop once from all those runs of SM. I was lucky to see them on AH for 50g one night so snapped them up. From experience I would say the boots are the hardest piece to get in the set so if you see them on AH then grab them.

I got lucky. On my hunter me and a group were about to do sm lib. the Warrior in the group said hey anybody want ? If not i'll just disenchant it. I calmly said "sure, i'll take it." But I was actually cheering with excitement that I got the hardest part of the set first. From then on I worked on getting the rest of the set, herod's shoulder, raging berserker helm, and ravager. I'm level 70 now and still have all that sitting in my bank (btw the summer of flames tabard looks GREAT with this set). Since i'm on an RP server it's pretty beneficial.... even at 70.

After farming SM a few times and ending up with Scarlet belt, bracers and gloves I decided to gather the entire set (except for the leggings) for a warrior alt of mine. When I saw the drop percentages for the chest piece I was prepared to spend a long time farming it.

But it turns out on the first day of my quest, the third time I reset the Cathedral, it dropped off my 4th Scarlet Champion.

If you're after the chest piece and you're high enough level to bypass all the mobs below it's best to run up to the Chapel and start clearing the 10 or so champions scattered throughout. If you don't get it just leave, reset and repeat.

Just don't touch Morgraine since I vaguely recall he aggros all the mobs in the Cathedral (both inside and outside the chapel) when you fight him.

ok, this is the best way to farm with a friend, lvl 80; if your friens is a mage, let him pull the intire instance up to the scarlet comander, attack him, and iceblock... when all the adds are around you (and the iceblock fades) use frost nova and blizzard! u can clear the insatnce i 5 mins XD

Nice Looking Item....Good Stats....Part of a Set....LEVEL 34 = no outland enchants.
But as an idividual item this IS better than Icemail Jerkin, but Not the best for twinking (19+10=29, 15+15=30 Icemail Jerkin gives u more Stam and like 100 more armour when enchanted)
Plus lets include the fact u get plate at 40 (and theres a 40 plate chest drop in Razorfen Downs) this lover is only worth getting if it drops for you. well its not worth the 150-250g i see it up for all the time.

I might be lucky, but I have the bracers and the belt. combined they were about 3g50s. I really want this set just cause I love how it looks, and on a Paladin it's got to be funny. When I finaly do a SM run I'll be tracking down these pieces and Morgrain's Might. My guild said they'd run me, but I gotta level first.

He is in Cath in the church there are like 5 of them, they are just around there like the other normal mobs. He's not a boss or a special mob.

Was on Detheroc Horde-side Auction for 100g buyout. I got enough, but instead of buying it, I go 'Hm. That's not gonna sell. I bet I can talk to the person selling it when he's online so we can negotiate for a cheaper price'. Welp, when he contacted me after reading my in-game letter, he said he probably would have if it didn't already sell, and then I was sad.

What's worse is I found the guy who bought it, and he said he 'just wantted 2 lok hawt'. Wasn't even as good as the chest he had previously. I should just keep in mind he wasted 100g on something less than what he had, but it was -the-item I wanted. T-T

Is that the chestpiece with a tabbard over it, or does the chestpiece have the white tabbard with flame in the center look? I ask only because there is nothing below the belt that suggests that it is a tabbard but the look from waist to shoulders does make it look like a tabbard.

Wenet Why are you in the dressing room? When I did SM the first time I said i wanna make someone exatly like on of these guys so I made a human warrior and got him to 38 and bought 2 peices from the AH. Then I asked my friend if he would run me through sm (all parts) ravanger dropped off herod and i asked for another run so he did and the legs and helm dropped off him that time and i was like wow then the trainees came and one of them dropped the tabard. The next day I looked in the AH and saw the chest for 11g buyout and ofcorse i bought it. So all i needed after that was herods shoulders and the boots I bought a run through and amazingly the shoulders dropped after that all i needed was the boots after 4 days of runs they dropped off of i forget but now I look exatlly like herod its *!@#en awsome... But hes only on my chars because hes fun th look at and sometimes to pvp on...

I recently had this drop while doing the first run with my Tauren Warrior through the Cathedral. I just wanted to say that indeed the above picture is the graphic for the item and not a tabard. It is the logo of the scarlet crusade.

For you guys asking about the graphics on the chest- there is also a
tabard of the scarlet crusade that drops off the trainee's that
spawn after killing Herod. It has the same graphic/scarlet flame
as the chest.

This chest piece is not really worth getting.
Hunters have way better armor and palas and wars chance to plate at lvl 40 so not a big point in getting this

I just about died tonight. We did back-to-back runs with the same group. In addition to winning the chapeau over two other clothies, I had the unbelievable luck to win - not one, but TWO scarlet chestpieces, both on rolls of 99. I am about to be at least 120g richer, given I am on an RP server and people fork over mounds of cash to look like Scarlet Crusaders.

As I went for SM, rolled out for this Chestpiece, and allmost sold it to vendor for 69s!
As I was desperate to get mount (20g short) I was pickin up every junk, and selling it.
Luckily, I've put it on AH with 18g buyout (tnx 2 my guild m8), and it was sold in 2 min! Some Paladin or Warrior must have been very happy about it! :D
So, I gotta say: ty Scarlet Chestpiece, u turned my life around! :P

So im a level 62 hunter and i have been farming Sm for the Scarlet Chestpiece and Scarlet Boots, (want them for my alt) i got the boots on the AH, as for the chest i have been farming Sm Cath (skipping all the outside mobs and only killing the mobs actually inside the cathedral). Well, after about 8 runs I got it! :D

This thing is money in the AH, the amount people spend on twinks is crazy.
