For the arena points do you have to be in like a arena team? How hard are these points compared with honor for the normal pvp sets?

Season 2 sets are up on PTR. Costs unchanged from season 1. While Season 1 gear is lowered 14%

New honor bought item costs have been increased slighty.

Well good news says that this Arena Season One set is moving to PvP honor rewards as soon as season three starts. From what i have been told from multiple people is though everyone is going to have to be prepared to pay more then the usual ammount of honor for these sets. My suggestion if you are not epic'd out yet with better then what this has to offer, i as near season three comes closer to being implimented SAVE your honor!

Seeing this i wont even bother getting field marshal......because this is actually significantly cheeper(in AB marks) which is a problem with all alliance on the arygos realm ( we hardly ever win AB)

This will be removed from vendors as of the 24th for US and 25th for EU and it will be replaced by the S2 gear which will be the exact same price

While you can be on one team of each type, at the end of each week you'll only gain points from the team that earned the most points that week. However, note that given equal rating, 5v5 teams earn more points per week than 3v3, which earn more than 2v2. To clarify with an example:

* Let's say you're on three teams (one of each format).
* Let's say that at the end of the week, each of the teams you're on ends at a 1500 rating.
* Assume that you were an active player on each team (played in at least 30% of the team's battles)

Results at the end of the week:

* Each active player on the 5v5 team would be eligible to gain 408 arena points
* Each active player on the 3v3 team would be eligible to gain 326 arena points
* Each active player on the 2v2 team would be eligible to gain 245 arena points

So, you'd gain 408 points that week.

Note: in the example we provided above the 1500 refers to the team's rating. The number of points an active player gets from a team is derived from the rating value plotted on a logistic curve.

Here are the actual formulas for the rating to arena point calculation:

X = Team Rating, Y = Arena Points
If X>1500: Y = 2894/(1+259*e^(-0.0025*X))
Else: Y = 0.206*X+99

Also, one of the points we were trying to illustrate above is that active players on that 5v5 team will gain 408 points each. This is the case regardless of whether there are 10 total active players on that team (the max possible), or merely 5 active players (the practical min).

We don't want to "split" points among active players, as that would encourage you to not have alternates on the team, and we don't want to pressure you to minmax the system by always having the min number of players for a team.

Update Bear in mind that the arena point return for your team's rating isn't linear. So to throw out another example...

* Each active player on a 5v5 team with a 1500 rating would receive 408 arena points at the end of the week.
* Each active player on a 3v3 team with a 2000 rating would receive 843 arena points at the end of the week (as compared to 326 at a 1500 rating).

That being said, we are deliberately trying to encourage the most competitive players to participate in the 5v5 battles, as we feel considerably more comfortable with the potential class balance in this environment. 2v2 has far more potential for certain class combinations to be heavily favored, and as such we're being conservative about how strongly we reward the smaller format sizes.

Your team only needs to fight 10 battles per week to be eligible for points. You can fight more if you so choose. However, due to the way the rating system works (and the way points are derived from rating), teams with high ratings are (in theory) increasingly likely to play only the minimum required number of battles.

Well i d say that Blizz changed things between PvP & PvE gears.

Before it was easy to own in Battle grounds with decent Dragonstalker bonus set & some pvp gears & a nice pve x-bow.

Now in the BC, pvp gears are much more made for BG's & arenas.

And this is specially due to the resilience & crit rate & stam stats. In BGs you need to strike fast and have to absorb dammages.

Pve gears are now definitively more with good AP & int stats, as you need high dps for long battles without critically striking all the time. (agro).

That why i would love to go for this nice set which is 100% good for pvp.

The only problem is the lack of AP, but i think that with good trinkets & neck & rings & weapons & enchants ... this problem can be fixed easily

I find it funny when people say that hunters take no skill, I think it's just a complaint when people cannot beat them. People seem to down the class that they cannot beat. I mean i can cause somethings about other classes.

Fire/Arcane
Presence of mind can beat a hunter good if you have fire spec and arcane. Simply poly, fireball, do an instant pyro with presence of mind, run forward to hunter, fireblast, frost nova or blink fire wave, and if not dead spam scorch? There are many arguments.

So if you say ranging takes no skill, you may be right, but hey, you just downed every caster out there, hunters have a dead zone, casters do not.

And also, if you say we shouldn't wear mail, Shamans don't have deadzones.

Plus rogues, I mean come on, some who can stun, poison, slow and do great amounts of damages shouldn't be able to stealth.

So my point- stop complaining about hunters!

Plus: This set needs more Intellect for us Marksmanship Hunters!

5 points in efficiency has made a huge difference in my mana pool for pve and pvp. Mana pots for pve are great and i love grouping with Shadow Priests because the heals + mana regen is insane. Also if u really have trouble with mana consider a flask of restoration, superior mana oil, or flask of relentless assault to down those bosses or players faster. As far as pvp goes, 5900 mana and feign death to drink then shadowmeld have been my best friends for some time.

I lied, i dont have the full S1 set,i only got 4 peices for the set bonus( helm, chest, gloves and boots. Than i got the felstalker bracers(AH material) and i got the pants from heroic OHB. this way you can get the meta gem set bonus because you have 2 blue, 2 yellow and 2 red slots on your gear.And i juss got the epic gems from the hall of legends and got the +stamina and +3% chance to crit or 3% crit dmg or whatever that meta gem is....dunno if this will help anyone with there gearing decisions, but thats what i did.

its very convenient to get this set before you start running the big leagues like kara. its damn near the same as teir 4 and easily attainable through BGs. just get on every weekend and do the call to arms for the day. easy honor, good gear, and extra honor for any other gear you may want

P.S. the color of this is a little nicer than the actual teir 4 in my opinion

Speak for yourself, my NE looks bomb wearing this. Good gear, especially if you don't have a raiding guild or you don't have 5 hours to blow on an instance to get an item you possibly can't even use. I'd rather work towards a certainty than chance it.

i have spoken to a gm, he said when s2 will be avaible with honor it will cost aproxily the same as s1 set and the season 1 set will maby even dissapear out of wow ..

okay so um, hunter probably takes the most skill to pvp, or at least one of the most out of the classes. Hunters, rather than melee users (paladin, warrior, shaman (ish), druid (ish), have to pvp with range attacks. Range has to be done at a distance AND can not be done while moving, all warriors have to do is charge ya then circle while you sit passed out. They debatably are more difficult than other casters because they have to deal with pet matters during pvp as well. But w/e i may be wrong, people probably think it is easier because they cant beat them lol, i pwn 70 rouges on a 66, and could prob do other classes but have never tried.

You get it in Ogr if you're horde, in the hall of legends using honor points and medals you've obtained through battlegrounds such as Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley. It takes a lot of time and honor point but worth it in the end.

This set just broke the bar. Great job blizz.

If you're new to the top-shelf-toon world I'd suggest starting with the leggins, and then the chest. They cost a little more and will take you longer to get, but ODing on resilliance in the beginning will make collecting the other peices a little less harrowing.

To say MM hunters 'take no skill' is rather unfair. Hunters in general were *made* to stand forty paces back and shoot at things in PVP, PVE, and in general. We have pets to run out there, hold a target still, and we fill it with arrows untill it stops moving, if this dosn't tell you our what roll is I don't know what will. I will not disavow the importance of beastmastery and survival, having a stronger pet and better traps is all well and good, but more often than not the smart PVP players are going to avoid both and those are the guys you have to worry about. We were never meant to take things head on, and if you are I'd like to suggest a plate-wearing class to you.

A good marksman knows they're a "support" player and will usually perform the same three tasks every time.

1) Hunters Mark, Aimed shot, vipers sting, silence, and concuss the opposing main healer. This nerfs their ability to heal and be healed at the same time and gives others the few seconds needed to really work on them, using the HM as a 'come hit this thing' flag.

2) Hunters Mark, Aimed shot, concuss, rapidfire, arcane shot, and snaketrap anything picking on your main healer if no DPS are available to do so. This usually takes them down to half bar, and turns their attention to the hunter who can kite or try to melee them untill they either die (it happens, let's face it), or someone else finishes them off. Again, the HM is used as a marker, more than a DPS bonus, but every little bit counts at this point.

3) Hunters Mark, Aimed shot, concuss, arcane shot flag bearer and flag chasers. This gives the others a chance to spot and catch up with whomever they're killing or guarding, and the aimed shot reduces the amount of healing done to the flag carrier, making them easier to take down in case of multiaple healers.

If they don't have to do any of thee above a good MM will usually do a quick party check and assist the member with the least health untill a healer can get to them, and then take out totems, wrince, and repeat.

I don't know who you've been partying with, but they weren't a good Marksman. A knowlageable MM knows their roll, and deals damage accordingly. Give us *some* credit.

my question is there a way to get gladiators armor faster than turning in medals for honor and do alterac vally four million times............by the way someone said there arnt very many survival hunters I use to not pvp to much and i STILL have survival. It rocks and ty for standing up for hunters everyone does think hunters are mean or something i can never get help that way lol. (By the way this is by Arlorne)
