This seems to be one of the requirements to acquire the title of Battlemaster, an achievement which will be introduced with WoTLK. It will be found/acquired/looted in Alterac Valley.

Other requirements for Battlemaster:

AV part:
- 100 AV wins
- 50 Graveyard captures (by you) in AV
- 50 Tower Defends (by you) in AV
- 50 Honorable Kills in Drek'Thars/Stormpikes room (only the room of your faction general)
- Win while your team is in control of both graveyards
- Win AV in 6 minutes
- Kill someone before he dismounts
- Win while your Captain and General survives, all towers (both the Horde and Alliance ones) are controlled by your faction (so not destroyed)
- Defend and assault a Tower and a Graveyard and kill soemone at the Field of Strife in 1 AV battle
- Own the AV epic mount (of your faction ofc.)
- Loot https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/achievement=1166

AB part:
- 100 AB wins
- Win AB with a 2000 to 0 score
- Take 50 flags in AB
- Assault 3 bases in 1 AB battle
- Defend 3 bases in 1 AB battle
- Defend (by recapping the flag) 50 AB bases
- Overcome a 500 point disadvantage in AB and win (so wen your team has 500 points and your enemy got 1000 you need to win (while you where losing first)
- 10 Victories with all 5 bases under your control
- Win AB in 6 minutes
- In 1 AB battle interupt flag capture 'x' times
- A second achievement with 'x' flag interupts
- Win with 2000 vs 1990 points
- Assault and Defend 2 bases (so 4 in total) in 1 battle
- Get 5 honor kills at all the 5 bases (25 kills in total) in 1 battle

WSG part:
- Get 100 WSG wins
- Capture the flag
- Return the flag 50 times
- Return the flag 5 times in 1 battle
- Win WSG with 3-0
- Win WSG in (less then) 7 minutes
- Score 3 flag captures in 1 battle, without dying
- Get exalted with your WSG faction
- Kill 'x' players before they leave your flag room
- Grab the flag and capture it within 75 seconds
- Kill 'x' flag carriers
- Kill the flag carrier while he's in their flag room (just before scoring)

EotS part:
- 100 EotS wins
- Win with 2000 vs 0 points
- Win 10 battles while holding 4 bases
- Win within 6 minutes
- Get 5 honorable kills on 5 flag carriers
- Capture the flag
- Capture (in 1 battle) 3 flags (and score) without dying
- Get a killing blow under effect of the Berserker buff in EoTS
- Kill the flag carrier, pick up the flag and score for your team
- Kill an enemy who is standing on the starting rock

The Arena Part:
- Win a ranked match in Blade's Edge, Nagrand and Lordearon arena
- Win 300 (ranked) matches
- Get a 2200 rating in 2vs2
- Get a 2200 rating in 3vs3
- Get a 2200 rating in 5vs5
- Win 10 matches in a row (without losing)
- Win 10 matches in a row (without losing) with an rating of 1800 or above
- Win 10 matches in a row (without losing) with an rating of 2000 or above
- Be the only survivor (of both teams ofc.) in a (ranked) 5vs5 match
- Kill someone within 15 seconds of the start of the match
- Win a match within 45 seconds

The Autographed Picture is the rarest loot in AV. Which means sheer luck could be all that sits between you and Battlemaster.

Unfortunately, due to the fact it doesn't bind and can be freely traded via Trade or the AH, this is not a retroactive achievement.

If, like me, you already have one you'll just have to go and get another from a warm body.

While you are working on this achievement you can also work on the Ambassador title by handing in all the Stormpike/Frostwolf Soldiers Blood for 20 horde/alliance rep per 5 blood. Also you can prove your worth in the battle by handing in all the armor scraps to get your faction the Generals Warcry.

I did not find this achievement very hard though. I found 2 pictures in just 6 games of AV. But maybe I'm just lucky.

Not sure if i was lucky, but this is how many gray items I looted before this popped up - maybe the drop rate has been changed?

9 pacifiers, 7 worn shoes, 5 shirts

I was lucky and the other day it droped for me while i was trying to get storm crystals to get my IF rep up *75 rep per 5 and you just have to loot them isn't bad* for the mount acheivment.
i have never actually seen it again since then though

It also drops from players, I got mine from a Dwarf Pally :D

From what I can see, this item only drops from players, possibly NPCs, I am yet to find out, although, according to Wowhead, it has dropped off NPCs, but only three and only once or twice, so yeah, I'd say it only drops from taking enemy insignias.

This item is the rarest of all of the other "trash" items that drop from players in AV, here are other surprises you are able to get.

Hahah... Got it in like 15th AV or something... Really liked the way you can grind achievement, Rep AND (a very little) money from looting... I loot everything i AV BTW. Just sold it for like 30 g on AH. Guess some noob thought it was easy achievement.

All I have to say is, "Good luck".

I went from friendly with all 5 basic reps to revered with 3 and exalted with the other 2 doing turnins (and only turnins) until I got this to drop.

Dont know if im really lucky or if its a really easy achivement,
I got it on the 20th horde I looted.

This was not to hard for me acquire I've been methodically focusing on each achievement as I do them. My suggestion is that you get a party of 5 some healers + burst DPS and u defend your leaders keep and loot the opposing factions corpses. If you are actually inside drek or vann's room they're always stupid ally/horde that run in and get rocked by the marshals thus creating tons of corpses to loot. Took me about 50-60 player corpses to find and only 1 AV where we wiped them 3 times.

I was doing AV all day trying to get this achievement. I went from 0/21000 revered with ironforge to well past exalted with turn ins (as human, just to give you an idea of how long I was at it) and recieved 4 different photos. Not sure if i'm lucky, or if they buffed the droprate, just sharing results. Happy looting. =P

I sold it for 200 gold. on Aggramar. ;) Some fool didn't read the word loot I guess? Unlucks.

Anyway back to topic.. This didn't take me long at all, got it on my 5th AV from a player corpse. Just be a loot ^&*!@ and it'll show up in no time. Easy achievement.

just fyi it does not award acheivement for wrapping it, sending to another toon, then looting it, you must actually take off a body

I can say i was really lucky...i was with my warrior 51lvl in his first av in his first loot i got it :D(and i dont have it to my druid who is already exalted with stormpike and have been like 200times in av). More specificly i looted it from an 60lvl troll rogue twink!Hope you are the same lucky as i was.
