Just fought her solo as a 62 BE ret pal. She used her mana up really fast and I just waited for Reckoning to proc, HoJ'd her, then dropped her. Took all of 45 seconds.

She did get off about 3 fears, but no worries.

58 marksman hunter. took me about 5-8 minutes but it wasnt too much of a strain. in the end it was a Me out of mana V her out of mana. i let her heal about 3 times with pet tanking and saved up about 600 mana. used it all on viper stings (mana drain) and one silencing shot and auto shotted her to death. easy-mode IMO

I was able to do this as a 59 BE Combat Rouge, I used cheap shot popped adrenalin rush and blade furry, once I was at 5 CPs I used kidney shot and then again when I hit 5 CPs used Eviscerate. At this point she was at about half health, unfortunately she blacked me out and healed herself all the way back to full, at this point I popped evasion, I had to make sure to kick her every time she attempted to heal, I also had to use Arcane torrent when kick wasn't up. I also had the Traces of Silithyst and Winterspring Firewater buffs.

59 frost mage soloing, I failed the first time cos she resisted cs, healed and mind controlled me. 2nd time she didn't resist and I used BE racial right after so she couldn't cast and she died. The fight was short. I didn't clean the whole room, just pulled her into the tunnel.

A lvl 60 lock friend of mine was slaughtered when he tried solo, but together with me (lvl 62 undead arms warrior) pummeling her heals she was down before we knew it. I haven't tried to solo her yet, but since I didn't have the glyph quest I'll go back tomorrow and have a go by myself. Remember to clear the entire room or pull her into the tunnel as Toshism above did.

Edit: I went back once I had the quest, cleared the room and charged her solo. It was actually fairly easy when you were ready for her tricks - between the Mortal Strike debuff and me pummeling every other heal I had her down fairly quickly. Use your anti-fear tools though, or you'll get in trouble. Remember you can use Intimidating Shout as an extra interrupt if she starts a heal when Pummel is on cooldown.

ATTENTION HUNTERS!

Easy solo: Make sure pet has aggro and Viper Sting about 2 times till her mana is gone, she can no longer fear, sheep, nuke etc...... She's nuthing without mana.

Oh my freaking God! That was a 18 minute fight as a Protection Pally! I pulled a second freaking mob while fighting her (about 5 minutes in) because of that stupid fear. I mean what is the cooldown on that?! And the Greater Healer was really stupid too. Required pretty much no mana and having to DPS as a Pally with a One-Hander it was just stupid. Along with the Mind Flay being uncleansable. That seriously needs to be reviewed by developers, haha.

She constantly heals herself and any other mobs in the room, I fought her for about 8 minutes till i gave up. unless you have a way of keeping her from casting, or can kill her in 2-3 strikes i wouldn't try more than once.

Making it by a lvl 59 enchancent shaman and fought at about 6 minutes, used a mana potion for 1500 mana and finally killed her. You need Tremor Totem for fear or you will never kill her cause she heals herself at 100% with greater heal.

killed her as lvl 59 sub rogue in first try! it was easy! just interrupt her when she try to heal and that is it! kidney shot, blind, kick!! i suggest that u use expose armor for your first 5 combo points because u will kill her in few hits after that

Did it as a lvl 62 Undead combat rogue. Killed the adds around her, applied mind numbing on main and deadly on the off. Opened with garrote for the 3 secs silence effect, used Will of the Forsaken on the one fear, kicked and kidney punched her to stop all spells. Not hard at all.

Not sure if they changed things recently, but as a 62 rogue it was no problem whatsoever. Cleared the whole damn room just to be sure but never got feared, had to kick one greater heal, gouged and kicked a couple mind flays, maybe got a 2 second stun on me once, but really easy to take down overall.

I just soloed this as a 58 UD warlock, full Demonology spec, and thought I'd give a few tips here for those having trouble with it.

As previously stated, she uses Fear and Mind Control a lot. Her Shadow Word: Pain doesn't tick for too much, but when it does tick it can proc Blackout (I wish my shadow priest could have that!). One thing you'll really want to watch out for as a warlock (and, I assume, as a hunter) is her killing your pet while she's mind controlling you. This happened to me the first time, and after the pet died she ran back into the middle of the room and reset, putting her back at full health. Then MC broke and she attacked me again, only this time I didn't have a pet.

The way I beat her was to use Fear and Death Coil nonstop. She's not immune to either, and although I had some trouble getting Fear to land (she was +4 to me and I have almost no spell hit), I was able to get her perma-feared and have all my DOTs ticking.

So basically, fear is your friend against her. Definitely try to fully clear the room before you start, and if you're using a Felguard watch out. The non-aggressive bug in that room respawns quite quickly, and a poorly timed Cleave on the part of your Felguard could bring it over while you're trying to kill her.

Solo'd as a 58 mage with crappy quest gear, she died in under 8 seconds. So I'm not sure if I was lucky or this is just insanely easy to do now.

Well, I'm a level 59 Shadow priest. 158 spell damage. She was easy job for me. Silence her when she started to heal, fear, and a single mind blast. Eventhough she is level 62 I did not have problems with her resisting. You can allways run back the way you came to reset the fight.

With a level 60 fury warrior, I didn't find her to be that difficult after I adjusted strategies. The first time I went at her, I did my normal routine and she ended up winning by attrition. She has a full heal that requires very little mana (so little that she'll regenerate enough mana in combat after a few seconds, even if she's fully drained) and of course the fear, etc. just makes things a pain.

For round two, I buffed myself with whatever I had on hand (scrolls, potions) and cleared the room again. When it came to the last silithid, I autoattacked to build up my rage. With the room clear, I used Intercept to rush and stun her, and immediately followed up with Whirlwind and Bloodthirst. With some crits in there, she was down close to half health or so, and she immediately started trying to heal. From that point on, I only used two attacks, Heroic Strike and Pummel whenever she tried to cast. She tried to heal two or three times, I interrupted her and by then she was low enough in health that I used Execute and that finished it. She spent most of her time trying to heal herself, so she never feared me that second time around.

The key here for us is criticals to bring her health down fast, right at the start so she focuses on trying to heal herself rather than fearing you or casting any other spells. If you miss a Pummel, use Berserker Rage (fear immunity) and keep at her. Of course, if the random number generator doesn't go your way and you miss a lot, or don't get many critical hits, then things will probably get ugly fast and she'll have you bouncing around the room.

I took ur advice but still wanted to be on the safe side so i got together a group of 4 (no healer) and ventured into hive regal.

Your right, we had no real problems until we got to the night elf priestess. in anwer to you question she's in the tunnel in the South West area of the hive, but shes a long way down. The tunnel shes in is the biggest one there.

I dont know what the other guy was taliking about when he said the preistess can be pulled cos she attackes via magic and will fear you right into other mobs.

She is a 62 elite and is very hard to conquer. Her damage is huge and she heals herself. Dont get your hopes up if your looking forward to doing this with 2 cos with 4 of us we killed her with all of us on low heath and and 1 death at the end of the battle.

You NEED to clear the room cos as said B4 she will fear u right into other mobs. Id say a Solid Party of 4 (like ours) will be able to do it but if u want to do it comfortably I would reccommend 5.

I hope this clears up yours and every1 elses queries about Hive Regal.

Warning, if you die in the regal hive trying to do this quest, you will likely be sent to the Sentinel Hill Grave Yard. Happened to me 3 times, and my partner 2 times.

According to a GM it's a known problem they are working on.

If you don't die, no problem. If you do, it's gonna take you a while to get back.

Just in case it's server specific, I was on Alleria.

Be careful when getting to her because the tunnel is filled with bugs.

Flying Bugs
+Melee attacks
+Nature dammage spells

Cloaked Walking Bugs
+Melee attacks
+DOT poison (nature dammage) that deals a lot of dammage in a little amount of time

Uncloaked Walking Bugs:
+Melee attacks
+2 minute poison that inflicts nature dammage every 5 seconds to all nearby party members (including infected one)
+'Poisoned Mind' ability makes a party member attack their teammates for 15 sec (bug continues to attack other teammates during this time)

It's nice to have a skinner there to make some gold. (Need 305+ skinning because these are level 61 elites to be skinned, though 300 is fine for the half that are only level 60 elites.) When your skinning produces a grey item, keep it and sell a stack of 20 to vendor for 1G.

Once you reach her in the circular chamber at the end, clear the room before fighting. Watch out for bugs' knockback abilities. You have to go fast or they will respawn; a 2-person group was enough to clear it in time. Natalia uses 90% of her mana to heal herself later in the fight (she casts several short heals that combined bring her back to full health). Since she only heals when she is low on health it is easy to silence / stun / fear her at the end. Even if she gets one of her heals off you'll be fine as long as you don't allow her to get off the 4 or 5 that she requires to reach full health again.

First off thise thread is way to long. All I wanted to know is how to complete this quest and you guys are giving a bunch a BS.

You have to kill this gal shes a 62(Non-Elite)

She continually heals herself which makes it a long fight. I did this as a lvl 66 feral druid.

Hi...I'm a lv 60 huntress...i found that it's not that hard like u guyz said (or it's just me). it was soloable. i completed the quest by solo just now. here's what i did:
1. kill all the surrounding bugie bugs...
2. then, when all the bugs were killed, make sure ur mana is full. after that, put a freeze trap, for precautious (although it wasn't use after i put the trap.) then order ur pet to tank...use VIPER STING on her. then keep shooting her. by the time her mana's out, it'll b piece of cake. just keep VIPER STING her, dun let her spirit gain her mana, or she'll keep healing herself. try it... hope u can complete the quest...^^

n.b: sory for my bad English, i'm Indonesian...^^;

The fight was easy i did it with my 59 shaman, the mob is a priestess she hits for 100 dmg/ casts shadow word of pain/ greater heal/psychic scream. Just make sure you cleared the room before attacking, and interrupt her greater healing spells.

I am a lvl 63 hunter

This is with no doubt the most annoying !@$# I have ever had to kill, healed herself while on zero mana, must have been bugged, went back later, used serpent sting to drain all her mana for sure this time, that worked.

First time was the most horrible thing ever though.

I did this solo with a druid at 60. Its true that the mobs in the room are no longer elite and thus is now solo-able but the priestess herself is the real problem so here's the tactic I found when fighting her off for druids:

Fight while in cat form, accumulate combo points, fight till her MANA is damn low (don't worry, she casts tons of spells in a short period of time), in fact, till you think she doesn't have any. When she starts to heal (and furor will greatly help with this next part) switch instantly to bear form and bash her to stun her, then switch back to cat form, wait for your energy bar to fill up as much as possible, or till stun ends, whichever comes first, and then hit her with a ferocious bite and hope her health was low enough for it to have killed her. The problem with the priestess right now that makes her DAMN tough is that when her mana is low, next to nothing, her regen rate gives her JUST about enough to cast a greater heal that fully heals her. Unless you've got DAMN good gear and dps (and a stun or silence), she'll manage to throw one off every time.

Plus, not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but I think the name of this quest is based on John Carpenters 'into the mouth of madness' where by the end of the movie the guy believes he has to do what he must and tries to kill someone.

I expected her to be near impossible to solo after reading the comments here, but tried as a level 60 balance druid and found her kind of...easy.
The greater arcane elixir I took beforehand might have had something to do with it, but not much.

soloed with 62 hunter BM, fairly simple for me. i can see how it could get difficult though cause she heals, but i viper stung until she was outa mana, had to mend pet once, beast wraith'd after her first heal, n she ate the dirt. :) other post was very accurate about southwest entrance. walked from the dwarf camp took like 15 minutes for the whle q

just tonight soloed her at lev 60 sham, she was a huge pain. feared me to put down tremor totem and she kept healing her self to full. I tried to interupt heals with earth shock but it didnt work (shrug). so just kept bangin away till she was low mana and cast a dmg spell instead of heal and finally got her. I had to take a mana pot and heal my self repeatedly but when she was dead I had bout 300 life left and no mana. ported right the heck out of there cause I was done with the fighting for a bit after that very tiring

I soloed it as lvl 59 shadow priest after dying once. The trick is to use mana burn untill she has no mana, and you hopefully still do. Then go all out on a nuke. When she tries to heal use fear or silence.

First time i tried i got her down to 1 % hitpoints but she managed to heal and my mana ran out. Fought for about 4 more minutes with little mana, and then died. When I came back I had to rekill all the mobs.

Second time it went better, I killed her, even though I wasted mana on shadow-form in the middle of the fight. Since I was level 59, I got some resists.

I think this was the hardest solo I've ever done, since she's got so many spells at her disposal - fear, full heal at almost no mana cost, mind flay, etc. But when she's really out of mana she only hits you with her fists, which do very little damage.

I used shield, and see no way of not using shield. The post above me soled it with level 58 (!) mage. I wonder if mage's longer silence was what made it possible at all, becase after main mage nuke, she'd heal and win.

At any rate, using the variation of above is probably a good way to win. Rogues can kick her, but then again she might fear you... Tough cookie.

I just did this on my lvl 59 Blood Elf Beast Mastery Hunter. Unfortunately, a friendly Night Elf druid decided to help me, and things kind of went downhill from there.

She'd mind control me, I'd cast "Scare Beast" on the bear-form Night Elf, Night Elf would go fleeing into a group of adjacent mobs, aggroing all of them, boss would heal herself, my pet would attack me. Somehow the word "cluster$%^&" seems inadequate.

We managed to win, but the whole thing dragged on for about ten minutes.

She's not elite and doesn't have any elite guards anymore. She's level 62 and still heals herself very effectively and fears though. Even if you clear the area first you have to bank on at least one respawn. I soloed her reasonably easily as a level 60 hunter.

Also, for those of you too lazy to get coordinates like me, there's more than one tunnel in hive regal so make sure you go the south west one.

I guess i'm thankful that Blizzard made things easier. I cast starfire at her, and 2 wraths, and she was dead in the time it took for 2 global cooldowns.
Perhaps i didn't use the crystal thing she's looking at. I'm gonna wait around for her to respawn and i'll repost if she's any more difficult to kill, but... have fun with her.

Her fear is an instant cast, and she likes the fear-heal combo (who wouldn't?) so don't count on interrupting all the heals...

You _can_ clear the whole room so she doesn't fear you into adds... or you can kill the one mob in the doorway to the cavern, and LOS pull her around the corner into the alcove. She'll still fear you up and down the hall, but theres nothing much to add there.

If you have any way of draining mana and reducing healing on target use this on her! But that should be the strategy with most casters anyway. As a hunter (60), I pulled her with viper sting which drains over 1000 mana, then had my boar charge her, then stunned her with boar, applied another viper sting and at that point she was just chasing me around totally out of mana and %^&*ed just like the players who face me in pvp ;)

I just completed this quest lv 59 feral druid. No longer elite as of patch 2.3

However to down her you need to clear the entire room because she fears ALOT and you will aggro them. Then play the waiting game and try to survive. This is easy for classes that can self heal. Basically you need to wait until she goes out of mana because even if u get close to killing her she has a full heal.

When she was oom she still managed to get the odd ability off and usually managed to heal herself. took me 5 minutes to kill her because every time i got her down she healed to full. Eventually i got a lucky crit at the end and killed her before her heal went off.

I wouldn't try to solo this if u can't heal urself but classes who can interupt the heal shouldn't have any problem killing her after she goes oom

Hard to solo for a lvl 59 feral druid. First time i got her i thought she would be easy but then came the blackout and the mind flay and the fear. I aggroed 1 add. eventually i gave up.
Then after healing i pulled her then attack her. She used fear, hell, mind flay, stuns, but eventually i took her down with no adds on. GL on this chick, she is strong.

Boy, they really nerfed this quest. The whole hive used to be elite, she used to be elite and much stronger. Used to need a whole group for this, or be level 70. Now, this should be soloable for any class that can either heal or drain mana.

Be sure to clear the room first. Silithid surround her, but she has a very small aggro radius, and if you stay back from her, you can kill off the silithid easily.

i completed this very easily i just took down all the bugs 1st then started on her, i continusly viper stinged her and mana tap and just filled her with arrows she tryed to heal when she had one percent of life left so one hit with scorpid sting and bye bye chicky..

I had trouble soloing her on the first go, but as a lvl 58 lock (no really, level 58), but on my second try I managed to take her out on my own.

For locks, the secret to killing this !@#$% are as follows:

Kill ALL mobs around her.
soulstone, healthstone etc before you attack

Fear her before you do anything.

Fear, curse of tongues, FEAR, corruption, FEAR!, unstable affliction, FEAR FEAR FEAR (the moment you let your fear down she will heal and it starts again) and of course, life tap and drain life.

Keep her away from the pillars in the walls, she hides behind them and then heals and charms and fears and the rest of it. I called a GM after the fight because her corpse was hidden and i couldn't loot. Hopefully that issue will be fixed (but probably not)

You CAN solo her at lvl 58, you just need to be focused. She must ALWAYS be feared, and keep those DOTs on her. I think I used a mana potion and a healthstone as well.

Anyone who couldn't solo her at level 60 or above is a pansy (or maybe just not a warlock)

Entering the cave at (54.5,88.3, Hive'Regal Ambusher at entrance, lvl 60. Small alcove to the right, contains three Spitfire, Burrower and slavemaker. From the Borrower received quest "Brann Bronzebeard's lost letter". continuing down tunnel, turns left and another alcove to right, guarded by lvl 60. inside we meet a hive lord and two mob, he can knock to a good distance. Ah and an Ambusher, close one.
Back in Tunnel heading SE (52.9,93.0)a large cavern ahead, with Thorium vein.On you left is a Cenarion Scout, he does nothing except says "hi". this lead to the last chamber, circular..hope she is in side..lol.
This place is busy, from the entrance i can see a hive regal glyphed crystal and beside it mistress natalia mar'arlith lvl 62 priestress..o boy!
don't fight the mob without having your back to the wall, or you might land somewhere do don't want to be yet..on her!
First time, no she kick my butt. but i got to close, she will cast fear over you and stun, regenerated 3 times and then gets close to cyrstal to do the same.. take 2, had to clear room again. this time i plan to get cyrstal, might take her power.
Got her this time, was not so bad, but i was ready. before starting have also the quest's "Glyph Chasing" and "Breaking the code", and for good measure "Noggle's lost satchel" as it is near the entrance.. hope this helped

After reading all these comments, I was concerned about taking her on solo. My worries were unfounded: Lvl 65 Aff Lock, no problem. Went into the wrong tunnel to start with, make sure you go to 55, 87 entrance. She was lvl 62 for me. Sent VW in and started casting fear; she feared my VW before my fear hit her. Once she was feared, dotted her up and used Drain life. My fear never broke, so she did ZERO damage to me and my minion. Different classes may have some trouble, but she died easily for me.

We were able to find entrance to cave at 55,87 and Natalia was easy to find once we were in at 53,100. We picked up the Glyph Chasing quest so we could collect the rubbing at the same time.

The only problem we had was running around to find the cave entrance because we got separated and ended up wiping.

We did with 2 warrior, 2 shaman and a mage. No prob!

Soloed this as a 60 warlock. All mobs are fearable, so as a master demonologist you can just sacrifice voidwalker and fear + Curse of Doom + shadowbolt. The room was a pain to keep clear though - 2 tries were ruined because of respawns, but the 3rd time I cleared the room fast enough to avoid respawns, and she went down without major problems

She still fears, greater heals (herself), etc...

Heals are back to full MOB life...

Easy to solo as a lvl 62 Rogue (she is still lvl 62)...

Clear the mobs all around her for when fears comes...

Keep poisons up and your kick or KS ready to interrupt heals...

i just solod her. level 60 night elf hunter. not to bad, just use any manna draining spell as often as posible and she is very weak.

Asked the guild for help with this one. Did it with one Hunter (me), one Rogue, one Shaman. No problems, mon!

Dang it was worth it too. Went in with 36g, came out with 50 :P

Did with just a rogue (myself) and a warrior no problem. I just stunlocked her and interrupted heals while he DPSd. (Used recklessness)

You can solo pull this wench.

However, I was unable to do it as a 59 druid, even with a health pot and popping cooldowns.

She has a "greater heal" which heals her for at least 70% of her health. As a Tauren my only spell interrupt is Stomp, which I used, but she still casts it a few seconds later (she uses it frequently) and only uses a bit of her mana. Potentially could've been done if I gave it many many more attempts, but my god, obnoxious nonetheless. Not worth it unless you really need that staff, or the XP.

the "correct" tunnel entrance for this quest is in the very SW of the hive.

head down to the very south room.

i did this (solo'd, yes...) as a lvl 60 rogue. so here's how to do it:
kill all the mobs first apart from the one right behind her. attacking that one will aggro her too. so sap her, and take out the mob. you won't even have to vanish...you'll leave combat after killing the mob.

now to the misstress.
stealth, use premeditation, followed by shadowstep and ambush. with crit that should take roughly 40-50% percent of her health down. now use rupture. she'll probably cast a mind flay or heal herself. if she heals, kick her, or if you have the combo points, kidney shot. if she mind flays you, well...there's nothing you can do about that...but that's why you have hopefully just used rupture!
or if you have the insignia of the alliance, use that. and from that point on, just keep hitting at her and interrupting her healing with kick or kidney shot. if she has about 20-25% health left, finish her off with eviscerate.

i was dreading the fight, but it's actually kinda easy...follow my advice :P

The elite 59-61 Silithids are tough, but a 5-man can power through them without major incident.

You want the SW entrance to Hive Regal. Wind your way back and you'll find her in the same room as the crystal you do the rubbing quest for.

She's a priest, so she can mind control and heal, but she is vulnerable to spell interrupts and silence.

The correct entrance is in Hive'Regal at 55,87.

Travel all the way south once you enter, she will be in the last room, around 53,100 (0,0 at where she actually is).

got up to her with myself and another mage, and then had a tank for killing her... i can see her being quite hard, she has a nasty SW:P and can do respectable melee damage and mind flay, i would take a healer.

i was ablie to pull her alone, solo'd it as a 58 hunter... pulled each of the insect things alone and fought her all alone used viper sting to keep her mana low but she managed to heal herself back to full health 3 times, tough fight but did it on first try, so it is doable, she was lvl 62 to me ;)

I being a Priest two-manned this with a Warrior. Cleared the room first before engaging her. It was an ugly fight, but we managed it with interrupts, dispelling mind-controls and fearing.

Killed her as a Hunter/Druid team. As a druid I was wearing mostly resto gear with some tank pieces and tanking her/healing myself. She can be stunned, incapacitated, etc. Be aware that if you kite her way back behind her spawn point in the room she may reset. That is what happened to us, I don't know if it's intended or not. First pull she mind-controlled me twice and the hunter was kiting her around the room, she randomly reset. Second pull she didn't cast MC at all and went down pretty quick. Her melee hits pretty hard. Probably would be easy to solo as a druid if you can get through the other elite silithids.

TBC Classic:

Level 59 Mage (10/37/3) - 124 SP - 15.07% Crit Chance (with fire spells)

Almost solo'ed her. I only needed one more Fireball but, unfortunately, she casts Greater Heal every 5-6 seconds healing her to full (yes, 100%!). As my counterspell has a cooldown of 24 seconds I couldn't kick her second heal. She healed and I wiped.

But it is definitely possible to solo her as a fire mage! Here's how:

1. Put 41 points in fire and skill Dragon's Breath.
2. Don't waste your time with Scorch x5! You won't kill her in time if you do that!
3. Just press Fireball like really hard and nuke her.
4. Counterspell her first heal.
5. Dragon's Breath her second heal.
6. If she fears you, Ice Block it as fast as you can.
7. If you kicked both heals, she should be dead by now. Like I said, she only had 1k HP left when I tried it without DB. That's one Fireball (Rank 10) @124 SP

She's in Hive 'Regal, entrance is at 56,86.

Enter the cave and take each available left. Eventually you end up in a circular room with her and several mobs. None including her are elites. CLEAR THE ROOM. Immediately after being hit she fears. Smack her hard and watch for her heal. Ensure you pool resources to interrupt it.

This is for WOTLK and with heirloom gear at 59 on a feral druid she was very easy.

I adore how this quest combines lore and game mechanics. It makes the game so much more immersive when the gameplay is acknowledged by the game. The dwarves mention Blackout, Psychic Scream, Mind Flay, Shadow Word: Pain, and Bestial Wrath! It's such a good tool to relate to the player's knowledge, too!
