The Bonechewer Scavangers there may look like they're looting the parts, but they dont loot them, so don't worry about it.

I've been having some trouble with this quest, seems after i loot a salvaged metal i can't loot any more... I've tried everything, from abandoning the quest to making a post to a gm. They said they'd look into it (about 3 months ago). Anyone else get this problem and have any suggestions on what to do about it?

the wood and metal can be found North or Northeast-ish of Honor Hold. Quest was really easy. You can stay at one broken catapult and wait till the wood and metal respawns, and there aren't too many orcs to kill. :)

The wood spawns back almost instantly, but the metal is quite the oppisite, oh well, give it a few minutes and you should get it.

If you can't loot the objects you need yet they're still sparkling, go to the other side and it will work. I don't know why after a year++ of BC being out this quest is still broken..

Head to about 63,52 ... right in between 2 destroyed catapults. Kill a few orcs, salvage at one, trip over to the other, same routine. A short jaunt to the northeast is another. Completed this in about 15 minutes.

Found plenty of wood around 50,58. was finding it difficult to get much metal here. Went to 58,52 and found the rest here.

Getting the metal on the alliance side is easy, there are four spawn points by the tower where you get the quest, and there's always metal at one of them. The spawn points are:

Next to the ramp into the tower, on the right side (51, 59)
Next to the mine, below the crane (51, 61)
Next to that broken equipment, near the burned ground(51, 57)
To the right of the bridge to the citadel (49, 55)

Just keep running in a circle picking it up.

found wood and metal at 51,56, 2 wood piles 1 metal pile, metal respawns nearly every 3 min. Cash in quest at 51,60

There is no reason to run all over Hellfire Pen. looking for the metal and wood. I went to a camp at 57.53 to do the quest, "Fel Orc Scavengers". There, I found the 20 orcs that I needed for the quest, plus all the metal and wood I needed for "Waste not, want not". I doubt this is the only camp like this. The quests were meant to be completed in tandem.

I soloed this at level 59, and it wasn't difficult. However, if you are around the same level, watch out for the level 61 elite orc that tends to run up on you when you aren't looking and are low on health.

lots of metal and wood located around 60,52. There is a bombed out wreck there, you will also find your Fel Orc scavengers Q there also, 2 birds with 1 stone.

look for the busted siege weapons, the supplies are scattered around them.

Also, make sure to get the quest Fel Orc Scavengers since the Bonechewers are in the same location.

Just north of Honor Hold there are destroyed War machines, run around them for both the metal and wood. They are real close together and there's normally a lot of people there so you don't have to kill much. There is heaps of wood but not as much metal but you will get it all over a couple of minutes.

To complete this quest you need to bring 8 pieces of Salvaged Metal and 8 pieces of Salvaged Wood to Dumphry at Honor Hold.

Make your way to the north of the tower. You should see area filled with several fel orc mobs near the edge of the plain area.
Both Salvaged Metal and Salvaged Wood can be found on the ground, look like different junk - cogwheels, planks, pipes etc.

Description

Reinforcements are great, but I don't see 'em haulin' any wagons loaded with ingots or timber.

Take a look around, friend. Trees are in short supply, and the mines are overrun with Legion scum.

I'm in a bad way fer supplies, and I'm makin' what substitutions I can, but it's time to start reusing what we can.

The southern edge of the Path o' Glory is strewn with the ruins of siege machinery. Some pieces of 'em are still usable. Feeling up to a bit o' a salvage operation?
