Found today at 03:48 (GMT) at 60,35. He dropped Righteous Spaulders of the Bear as I am not a Hunter so did not need to tame, randomly found.

Got him myself, approx midnight CST, exactly where the previous posts place him. Not so much purple as purple-tinted, and yes with the 1.3 attack speed. Ironic story: I camped all day in the Burning Steppes waiting for Deathmaw, then in my exasperation ran to the Blasted Lands and there he was, just waiting. Good luck to you would-be tamers of these ultra-rare epic pets :)

TIP: Don't know how many hunters realize this, but Tame Pet is a non-offensive spell. Which means you can drop a freeze trap, lure him into, and buy yourself ten to twenty seconds of molestation-free taming.

I found Ravage wandering around at 47,36. Since he wasn't there or anywhere nearby ten minutes earlier, assuming he spawns somewhere in that vicinity.
Also, I noticed that Ravage has no problem keeping up with me while i'm on my lvl 40 mount, and I don't have Bestial Swiftness. I don't know if this is a bug or what, but its pretty nice.

Ive been looking all week off and on and still cant find him.
I found the 52 elite bird but havent seen a sign of Ravage.

Finally got him, awesome little fellow. Found him near the burnout tower on the east side in the dip just south-west of the tower.

Just tamed him tonight at about 3:20 am server time, he was south of Netherguard Keep, by where grunter spawns. Found Ravage instead, which was cool cause I've been looking for grunter for 3 days now at all diff times. So at least I got another rare to add to my collection.

Killed him some few minutes ago he dropped
Revenant Helmet of Stamina for me. He doesn't seem that poular I had time to go to SW to see if anyone needed him and get back to find chillin. Any thought as to why?

i found him at 60, 35. surrounded by basilisks, and ashmane boars...at the south foothills of the mountain west of Serpents coil.

Ran into him at 50,35 whilst skinning Basiliks. Took a screenshot and posted it, killed him and got a Crusader's Helm of Defense and Ebonhold Cloak.

Be careful when taming, he stacks poison and also enflicts infected bite! He used them both on myself and my pet when I attacked him.

So yeah I was looking for a pet to replace my gorilla that had good speed, well i heard that hyenas in the blasted lands had dash so i thought i'd learn it and then go tame bangalash, well what do you know I see a purple hyena in the eastern pit on the map and tame him :) took me about 2 minutes tops :) great pet though the attack speed is pretty fast and he seems to regenerate pretty quick too. Dash really owns as well.

Ravage is a good choice as an hunter pet and it looks great :)

Stats immediately after taming without true shot aura and without any beast talents are:

Ravage, Level 51 Hyena

Skills: Dash Level 3

Tamed him today. I read somewhere that he comes with 60 all res, but none of that here.

- Can someone explain why this has happened to someone in the past, and why it's not available anymore?

Been at it today, killing the entire area where he is supposed to spawn (as per the map on both Allah and Thottbot's sites), for about 4-5 hours straight. Killed all and any mobs in the nearby area of the supposed spawnpoint, but to no avail.

Are Rare mobs spawned by killing other mobs, IE they will spawn in place of the regular trash mob, or are the rare mobs merely timed, IE. once every 3 or 6 hours, a random named will spawn at that location?

So far I've seen a named Scorpion... something the Clacker... lvl 52 elite... and a named bird... forgot its name.. a level 52 elite as well iirc. Both spawned at the area where Ravage is supposed to spawn. One yesterday 12.06.05 and bird today, 13.06.05.

I want that dog :(

Well, ladies and gentlemen...

I finally managed to tame this wonderful species.
After alot of time camping without any drug on the eastern most part, he spawned at the western most part the next day :S. oh, and don't camp on Theremus' flightpath :) Never seen him in eighter Tanaris or Un'goro Crater.

I wanted Dash 3 and there aren't many places to easily get it at level 51 so I camped out the Blasted Lands for Ravage and Grunter. I never did find Grunter but after several visits and a few hours farming mobs for the buff quests got from the Blood Elves in the north of the zone, I eventually found Ravage at the westernmost area marked on the map above. There are Felbeasts, Basilisks, Hyenas, Hellboars and even the odd Draenei wandering this area so it's maybe best to clear a little first, but I tamed Ravage with no problems. I didn't keep him though as hyenas aren't really my cup of tea.

On my final visit, Teremus the Devourer (boss level dragon) was flying regularly through this whole area, so watch your back !

Ravage is actually purplish in color. He has a 1.3 attack speed and comes with Dash rank 3, which is the Hunter's pet's new ability.

I had been camping for 6 hrs with no luck lookin for this guy. I was debating between keeping Broken Tooth, a ZG Bat or this purple hyena i had been looking for awhile now. I decided to go after this guy again since not many hunters have hyenas overall and it's different to see. I flew out to Blasted Lands only to find a 48 Mage blasting the area. So I logged out for the night, just behind the hut in serpents coil. Logged in about 6 hrs later, and found him in the little ditch near Rise of the Defiler.

I tamed this guy the other day and on taming he had 40 to all resistances. After a few days I noticed this had dropped to 27 and now he is at 0 resistances - so - do rare pets lose their abilities like resistances or did i just get bugged or something?

was gonna grab a scarlet hound, then picked this fella up whilst taming Grunter. like has been said, nice colour, and very good 1.3 Att. worth having just not to have a Bangalash =p

So i kill this guy and 2 other rarespawns,
One of the other one was Dreadscorn
德雷斯克恩 seen this guy like 3 times now, and kicked his big red booty 3 times

and the other was Magronos the Unyielding
顽强的玛古诺斯 time ive ever seen him

thats wierd 3 in one day
ive seen only 2 at a time 2 days straight and other combos a week ago b4 this
The combos were
Ravage, and Mojo
Ravage, and Dreadscorn
Dreadscorn, Mojo
Dreadscorn
Dreadscorn, Ravage, and Magronos the unyielding <--- this is my first 3 rare spawns in an area in like ever

I killed the mojo guy and this guy
he dropped Mystical Bracers of Spirit.
He was sitting in in front of the lv. 54-55 ogres

At the end of my two day expedition in the Blasted Lands, I found Ravage on the Eastern-most location denoted on the map. It was starting to get ridiculous, so I savagely expedited all of the Hyenas in the entire area. I doubt this had any effect, but when I moved back through Serpent's Coil, he was waiting for me at the base of the burned out watch tower.

To all of the Alliance I had to spank during my stay in the Blasted Lands... I'm not sorry and maybe next time you won't try to sneak up on a troll with an itchy trigger finger. ;D

Just tamed him while looking for Grunter.
This rare purple hyena comes with 60 Fire, Nature, Shadow, Frost, and Arcane resists right off the bat!

I killed this mob a couple weeks ago on the wildhammer server. He dropped Heaven's Light mace, which I sold in the AH for 50g! Imagine my surprise!

I decided to tame Ravage in order to get Dash Rank 3 for my BrokenTooth. I headed to Blasted Lands, went to Ravage's main spawning spot and he was right there. A nearby Orc Warrior was about to kill him, so I didn't have time to lay any traps or anything like that. I shot a concussive shot, abandoned my 'temporary' pet and tamed Ravage while he and another hyena were attacking me. The entire endeavor took me 2 minutes and 40 seconds since login, so I was fortunate. :)

Skin looks just like Snort the Heckler. Nice low 1.3s attack speed. Found him at the eastern spawn near where Teremus the Devourer flies through, south of Nethergarde Keep.

Been watching for 6 hours now...at some point, he statistically has to spawn... and I will be there.

But...where does he spawn in Un'Goro and Tanaris? I assume that the solid white square with the circle around him is his spawn point in Blasted Lands but what does the other stuff mean?
