After having read the comments of Bastille and Loupyone, I feel like the luckiest hunter in Azeroth.
Read up on the pet at http://petopia.brashendeavors.net and decided to check for him by using the map given here. And Lord behold, same spot as the other two comments, above the small camp heading north: Vile Sting! Being lvl35 I was a bit scared, but concussion shot + freezing trap did the trick!
Best of lucks to all of you guys. Took me about half an hour.

the first time for me when i went up to dustwallow was when i was 35 and i went to only get xp. As soon as i entered the glimmering flats i saw this white scropid and i knew i had to tame it and see what it was. When i came here and say the comments i knew i was lucky bec ur talking about hours and hours of looking for it when it took me a couple of minutes and by accident. :)

Ive been using the rake as my pet since lvl 12, and i just got vile sting at lvl 35, but i cant tell a major difference between the two yet,which is better?

I've heard many things about him but HOW good is he what's his DPs. his defense and stuff like that does anyone know! If so just say so ^_^.

Dude hes not green or pink
hes silver skin with blue texture marks

And his stats i dont know specificly, but he has higher than average armor, average attack speed, average persuit speed, medium health, low DPS, and unique skin color...hope this helps =)

Has a silvery aqua/blue skin.

I found him in the bottom left area of the frozen tundra, just above the dig site. Look for the little clusters of mid 30 scorps, should be at one of those. Unsure on respawn time. lil tough to capture but not too bad. 3rd time's the charm.

I had to camp out that little scorpid den place for alomst 4 days before he finally showed....he's just elusive thats all. He's better than the average scorpids as a pet (at least DPS-wise) and he's pretty. So just be patient.

CCurrently Camping him. Have reasons to beleive he has about an 2 hour spawn along the south edge of shimmeringg flats. I'll be posting stats and pictures ASAP, till then luck to everyone else, it's gonna be worht the wait guys, Scorpians are second best only to wolfs.

Ive gotten a update on the time. it's acually 36hours long :/ attack speed is also 2.00
but still the most beautiful scorpian in the game, a walking peice of art

ive been camping him for a week now, with NO luck, i saw him while questing in thousand needles but i was to low lvl, if the spawn time relly is 36 hours, im in for a long camp, any tips?

I've killed this guy 3 times with 3 diff characters, each time I found him around the wrecked wagons at 72,73.

If you don't have coords, it's immediately West of the Mirage Raceway, and slightly North. Theres a bunch of scorpid reavers hanging around the wreckage.

my Sarkoth is lv 18 named:BlackPoison..
But he havent learn scorpid poison, cant he learn it?
all other scorpions learn it at lv.8-10.

Oooh ... how excited am I?
I think Scorps make one of the best solo pets going, all that armour and a stacking poison, and let's face it; a lot of hunters are solo players ... just me, my tank and Azeroth ... who needs anything more? So i went on Petopia to browse the possibilities (I recomend it if you are at all serious about your pets, hunters; http://petopia.brashendeavors.net) and saw this beautiful creature and instantly fell in love. (I know it's only pixels). I went looking on and off for weeks, to no avail ...
Tonight my brother was talking about Voltar or Volgar, a rare spawn vulture in Westfall, and i got on thotty to get it's details for him, then thought I'd look for Vile Sting too, while i was at it...
I read all the posts, logged on, flew to Gadget, legged it up to the Flats cheeta time, walked up to the wagons and there it (he/she) was, pretty as you please, right by the wrekage, beautiful and silver/blue in the fading desert light. So, heart thumping, I dropped a freezing trap, started to tame, the ice melted with seconds to go. It took a few halfhearted snaps at me and came to my side, my new loving pet (well after a bit of tasty fresh meat). I got it in one go! No fuss, no mess just the cutest pet out, imho. (Isn't it a shame they shrink though?)
So take heart fellow tamers, the pet of your dreams is out there and will come when you want it. Just feel lucky, keep trying and go for it.

P.S. I was so excited I totally forgot to check the stats.

Vile sting spwns to the opposite side of the shimmering flats to Ironeye..

as soon as you enter shimmering, wall hug the cliff to the right and there loads of scorpid reavers, etc. Patrol that side of shimmering and you will find him

Would like to add he has a 48 hr spwn mob

ya i just caught vile sting the other day hes realy good for tanking at lvl 35 he took to lv 40 raptors and i killed them with him im lvl 35 also hes an extremely good tanker for instances but try not ot send him in a group of enimies he spawns evry 4 hours or so and he hits real fast also looks sweet id say hes the best skorp to get hes got around 1700 health when u get him

I just saw him today along the western edge of the shimmering flats...of course i couldnt kill him cause i was only level 31 but even when me and another buddy of mine tried to take him down we still died and we are both hunters.

found vile sting in 1000k and thought he might drop a nice green for me and well he is only a 35 rare and i was a 32 shaman at the time....
well...it turns out he has 3623 health and hits for 70-100 on normal hits on a 27% dam reduc and his "poison" special attack critted me for 350ish. i got him to 30% using every trick in my book but in the end my healing and mana pool (around 2000) just couldent cope with his dam, so watch out for this dude.

Hey,

Just wondering were vile sting spawns at so i dont have to keep running round the flats i have been here going on 4 days now and not seen him i run around the flats on outside rim and dont see him. I want him as a pet so if neone would like to add me if they know when he comes round i can meet them when he is there so i can tame him heheh. My WoW name is "Wentals" Lvl 41 hunter at this point. I tamed a scorp that was there just to have a pet to use but i will be getting ride of it when i see vile sting sho up. So if anyone could help me find him or just let me know when he is round. Oh yeah i am camped out on the west side of flats at scorp spot. if neone wants to come hang out or talk heheh.

It makes me sad that I just killed him. I knew he was a %^&*! to get for a hunter pet (I have several high toons,and I killed him on my hunter... but I was only lvl 30). Going to be fun camping for him for days now. -_-

Whats so big about him... I got tired of waitin so i went and got me a ummm hunter scorpid the ones that walk around right outside the area of the griffon... and they have claw6 he only has claw 5...so maybe wasting time on him..

i found vile sting half way between ironstone camp and the scorpid camp. He was a little west from the ridge. i used track beasts and found him. i was lvl 36 and i used freezing trap..and he still nearly killed me!

Camped him yesterday around the broken down carts (72,74) for about 3-4hours. Made manyt pats killing scorpids there in a giant C shape around the words 'shimmering flats' on the map to no avail. Was about to log my main off today and get some lunch and decided to head down with my 38hunter and look. Well, took a pass up to the carts, checked map, no Vile Sting, looked in front of me, VILE STING! without hesitation i abandonned pet, layed down freeze trap, walked up a bit, concussive shot him and walked behihnd the trap and got ready for him to come into taming range. He took a good piece out of me with his damage and poison stacking. Got me to around 54% before he became all mine!
So Definately don't camp him, youy'll have better odds checking back once in a while, and save some sanity at that!
With only training him yet Growl his stats are

Power 171 (118+53)
Speed 2.0
Damagf 58-71
DPS 32.3
Armor 2227 (1382+845)

I realizer some of my point division lead to the higher damage and DPS, but i noticed from an earlier Stat post that both his initial power and armor went down from 1.9 years ago. This is 10 Mar 08, prior to patch 2.4 release. I do have 3 points in BM Thick Hide (armor), 5 points in BM Unleashed Fury (damage) so these definately add to the ( +numbers) but the numbers before the addition sign i'm believing to be his initital stats. Hope this helps some.

Alright fellow scorpid users I really need your help on this. I have camped for 2 days now, completed all of the quests in the area and still no luck with even getting a glimpse of this awesome pet. I have used /find vile sting constantly and he doesn't even register. I can really use your help on this one!

Just wanna confirm he is still in game, got him today around 7 am, but to be honest i like graphics on Scorpid Terror better. Last 3 days i just logged off by that wreckage you see behind and when i had time i logged on to check if he's there, you dont even have to have Beast tracking on, if he's spawned it's gonna slap you right into face with his unusual colors, that's what happened to me anyway. As far as taming go, it was easy, just set trap wait for cd to expire, shoot him, once he's trapped set another one and start taming, easy cake. Wish you good luck on getting one my fellow hunters.

I've now been searching for this Silver Scorpid for nearly a day and a half with no luck or anyone every spotting this beast. I'm curious if the beast has fallen under the world or the spawn has recently become broken, and-or its spawn was moved somewhere else.

For so VERY long I have searched for this scorpid, but with no luck. I am on the real Eldre'Thalas and will pay for a guide to take me 2 his spawn point, I'll even pay more if the scorpid's there...

Just hit L35 and went looking for him to tame him. Ive wanted to try an armour pet, so I'll check him out. Anyone know his attack speed? I'm hoping it will be higher, like his rare cousin Death Flayer. I just cant see levelling Death Flayer from 11 at this point, cool as he is.

Any other Scorpids besides Death Flayer with a faster than 2.0 attack?

Unlike most rares, this scorpid will destroy you and your pet; whether it keeps the same prowess when tamed is another matter as I've not be able to do so.

I soloed this guy when was lvl40 warrior. It was a very tough fight. And for a such a tough, rare it dosnt drop any good stuff. At least for me it didnt. Only seen it twice on Shadow Council sever.

36 hunter. I was just going down to shimmering flats to finish a quest where i had to collect there salt venom. When i came across a peculiar looking silver scorpid. I quickly abandoned my raptor that i got from arathi highlands. Then i tamed vile sting. He comes with scorpid sting and claw rank 5. I plan on keeping him a while since he is a very unique scorpid and not a lot of people on my server have him. His spawn point is almost east of mirage raceway in a little wreckage looking area.

I want to tame him even more now I saw the pic but can't seem to find him. I checked on Death Flayer that I'd never tamed but fought with on other chars after seeing the post stating it had 1.60 attack speed instead of the usual scorpid 2.00 speed. It does have the higher speed but Don't read too much into it. Taming another scorpid and getting it to level 11 like Death Flayer and making them both happy they both show the same DPS(Death Flayer does less dmg causing balance). I have hunters on two servers so I'll try death flayer on my alt but wanted to warn others so they don't worry it would end up better at the same lvl as Vile Sting here. All other scorpids seem created alike in all but color pattern.

I saw alot of posts saying that this guy was tough, I found him quite easy though. Heres how I did it:

At first, I was getting the venom for the quest, and didn't see that he was elite until he hit my VW for a 150. What I did was DPS him until my VW was almost dead, then sacraficed him. He came for me and I used Immoliation, Corruption, Curse of Agony, then feared him. While he was feared, I updated the DoT's and sent wand bolts and the occasional shadow bolt. When he would come back to me I would use Curse of Agony and fear him. I did this for about five minutes until he dropped. I got Durable Robe of Intellect.

Side Notes: I found him at 71,73 and at around 10:00 PM.

First time seeing this scorpid: came across it unintentionally.

Solo'd it on my 36 Priest -- was a really close fight though. He has a nasty 350 Nature Dmg sting that he used at ~20%

Yea i came across him about two days ago lol didnt think he was all that rare until now reading him, me at the time was a lvl 33 hunter and a lvl 29 priest took him down and shared the ok loot, i thought about taming him or at least takin a screen shot with beast loreing him but maybe next time :P

Solo'ed as a 33 Paladin, tough fight.. and had to use lay on hands

He has a dot he casts called *something* sting.. every time he casts that.. it does 350 damage then has a DoT effect
