During the fight with Jandice, she will spawn a large number of clones that do not take damage. A few useful tips:

1) Use the "V target" interface option so that nameplates show up above enemy NPCs. When Jandice clones, only her true form will have the name plate. DPS should target that instance.

2) Have a tank to an AoE taunt like demoralizing shout. Make sure not to AoE the clones, because once the tank loses aggro on a large number of them, it's going to be difficult to get them all off of whatever person aggroed them.

I'm 70 and want the Dreadmist Mantle... Can I get to her solo with no forms of invisibility and without having to kill anything on the way? I haven't tried yet and wouldn't want to waste my time if not.

I don't know if i got lucky the first time or what, but I was able to kill her as a 70 fire mage.

I invis to her now and she inevitably does the illusion thing on me. So I have 10 mobs hitting me for about 40 damage each, pushing my casts back and doubling the damage I'm taking.

And I can't run away unless I want risen aberrations on me.

Easily soloable as a lvl 70 t6 rogue, but careful when she uses her clones cos, they will cleave u at the same time, resulting in lots of frustration, so, once you "kill" her the 1st time, turn on evasion and continue whacking her till she's down =D

As a 70 druid tank, this was the easiest fight in Scholo. Mitigation keeps her clones from doing much of anything, and clearing the room was a breeze.

Don't forget to activate the treasure room by using the torch just south of her little alcove. Little bonuses are still bonuses.

No problem at all as a decently geared lvl 70 restoration shaman either. Just keep earth shield up and she and her clones can't do a thing to you. The macro above (/tar Jandice) is handy to have however.

Torch on the wall just outside Jandice's room opens up the portcullis that is blocking the chest upstairs in the Viewing Room.

It helps to aoe but I found it easier to just find Jandice among the illusions and doing dps there. it was easier and she dies quicker. i would suggest one person (preferrably a rogue/mage) that has alot of dps to try to target her among the illusions and do damage there, while the others worry about illusions. much quicker and easier.

here's the scoop on jandice

those of you who've wiped in 5 and even 10 man groups against her will be surprised to learn she isn't that tough. it's the illusions that make this hard.

just before jandice disappears, she does an AOE curse on everyone within 10-15 yards. that curse is key. her illusions do very small damage, but that curse increases their damage significantly. make sure you have a druid or mage. tell the druid or mage that removing the curses is their PRIORITY for the fight.

the illusions can only be killed with PHYSICAL damage. arcane explosion, hellfire, etc. WILL NOT work here. druids' swipe, warriors' thunderclap, etc., WILL work. the good news: these illusions have like, no hit points. one hit kills them.

i can't be certain, but it appears that after a certain amount of time OR if you kill enough illusions, jandice comes back. she seems to spawn illusions at certain points as her health bar falls. thus stunning her repeatedly (she is stunnable) is a good idea.

in sum: remove those curses, do physical damage to illusions. stun her as much as you can. gg jandice.

If you're a shaman, make sure you drop a stoneskin totem. Without Jadice's curse, they will do very little damage even to squishies. You can keep hiting Janice without worrying too much about her illusions.

Has anyone ever tried attacking the illusions using any form of dynamite? To be able to toss in an EZ Thro Dynamite would make killing the illusions simple.

We had a party of 5 try killing her this evening and wiped a couple of times. then th warlock got her felhunter out which seemed to stop her calling her illusions for a while,

We kiiled her easy that way locating her by pressing v before the battle and looking for her name above all others.

Give it a go and see if the same happens for you/

Our party consisted of a Shaman, War (me), Lock, Mage, and Priest (Shadow, of course). ^&*!@ didn't know what hit her. The first time we ran into her, the mage said that if we didnt attack the illusions and only attacked Jandice they wouldnt do anything. Needless to say, this didn't work out too well as our priest was the first to go. The priest's soulstone wasn't up, but our shammy had a reincarn so we rezzed, buffed, waited the 6 minutes before SS was up, and then owned her.

What made all the difference? Reading this post I found out that she casts a spell right before she summons them, so instead of de-cursing we tried simply silencing her so that the illusions wouldnt deal much in the first place. Every class in our party had a silence and most of us had SpellAlert, so she actually never got a cast off.

The best news of all? If she doesn't cast the amplifying curse, she doesn't summon the illusions! Try it, she's pathetic without it. ^^ Barovian Family Sword FTW!

Oh and PS: Hunters with jumper cables, locks for soulstones, and shamans with reincarnation: You are my God.

Jandice = easy. just make a targeting macro if your melee. type /macro then /target Jandice Barov or however you spell her name. b4 the fight test it out, click it, and make sure it targets her. then when your fighting. after she splits have the off tank or mage or w/e you have that can aoe pull aggro and run away with the illusions while your tank stays on her with the macro, illusions die fairly easy if you keep dpsing her, they do little to no damage, and are just annoying. its easy, trust me, just have confidence. *just got done* im a 60 war who let our pally have a run at tanking so i could dps :D. mage priest pally war hunter was our group, nub hunter n mage. easy stuff.

Honestly, I didn't know the illusions even did damage until people posted here that they did. There's an extremely easy way to kill her, actually. After summoning her illusions she disappears for a few seconds. After a set time she comes back regardless of whether the illusions are gone or not. Once she's dead she doesn't summon any more illusions, and the illusions are cake, so forget about them until the battle is over.

Before entering the battle, have everyone but the healer make a macro which targets Jandice and then does their primary damage spell. As a lock, mine looked like this:
/target Jandice
/cast Shadow Bolt rank 8
(I was 58 at the time of the fight, so I didn't yet have rank 9)
The key is that /target Jandice does not target the illusions. Put the macro in place of your primary damage spell for the fight. As soon as she disappears, spam the macro until it works, then use it like you normally would. Using this strategy we easily demolished her (5 man group, obviously, this is post 1.10) and from what little I checked the party member's health I never saw anyone below 75%. We didn't even have a priest for shielding, just used a resto druid. And as I already said, I wasn't 60, so the group was far from perfect. Using this strategy you can easily kill her without fear. Thankfully her illusions do not move more than a few "yards" away from her at any time, so unless you did a terrible job clearing out space to fight you shouldn't get any adds whatsoever from them wandering around. I'd say good luck, but I don't think you'll need it; she's pie.

I had this cast on her, and did not even lose my target whenever she summoned her illusions. Apparently the rest of the party did, but I never stopped firing at the correct target. All the others had to do was spam assist me until Jandice became visible to them some seconds later.

The default key is "G" to target your last hostile target. As a mage, my job is to decurse, nuke Jandice, then decurse some more.

As im sure many of you SHOULD know by know, hitting V on your keyboard will bring up life bars on enemies. Well this fight is a perfect example of why you should use them. By bringing up your "v-bars" you will notice that out of all of the illusions, only the REAL jandice has the v-bar, making for easy targeting. and and easy fight. Winnar.

Yeah they key to making this fight easy is that macro
/target Jandice
as many have said.

She does despawn briefly after summoning the illusions. I've never heard that they are immune to AoE magic before, I'll have to check that out. Finding some way to aggro them all to the tank so your healer can still function is all you want to do.

I've also managed to do this fight without illusion spawns, so have your shield bash, kick, counterspell, and spell lock ready to interrupt her casts. I think she'll also take some stuns, but not silence.

Just get your tank to Demoralizing Shout, then cleave once or so. If you have 2 warriors, get one to whirlwind instead.

Just did Jandice for the first time since patch 1.12.1. Not sure when the change took effect, but the "v" key now toggles health bars for all the illusions as well. They're all labeled "Illusion of Jandice Barov", but good luck seeing her name with all the illusions blocking her.

How do I get to her? everytime I try to go to her my group keeps on wiping, cos mostly we have 1 healer, 3 spell casters and tank.and because of this, the skellys that are immune to magic pwn the !@#$ out of the healer first, then they go for others and we almost always wipe.. any ideas?

I've found that if you put a nice raid target marker on her before you start the fight, it will stay above the real jandice the whole fight, making finding and dps'ing her down easy enough.

Level 70 Warlock demon spec able to solo Jandice without any problems. Keep the felguard on her and use raid markers. Dot Dot Dot, health funnel on the ol'felguard and she drops like a wet sack.

The drop percentages on this are all wrong, ive done the instance up to this boss 8 times, trying to get the mantle for my gf. The mantle has never dropped for us but we've gotten the staff that has a 3% drop rate 6 times now.

not sure if anyone posted this, but a druids demoralizing roar, can reveal Janice's position, just look for the little symbol that appears when you do the roar, it only affects her not the illusions

Just soloed her as a 70 frost mage. Very tough seeing as the adds are immune to magic. Invisisi down the right wall and left along the back, pop up on top of her, summon pet and pop trinkets/icy veins. MAX dps b4 adds, i got a few crits so she was on bout 20-25% when they spawned. Ice barrier should be up as often as possible. When adds start attacking u, ice block and press 'v' to show hp bars and pick out hers (which is not full). Ur pet will take the dmg while u ice block, leave it for full time to allow CDs. When it runs out, hit cold snap immediately, pop 2nd trinket and use instant cast spells only to finish her off. Ice barrier and mana shield as much as poss and have potions ready. IB again after Hypothermia coz adds stay for about 10secs after she dies, get ready to loot her coz u may die when IB runs out again ^^

Took me bout 6/7 attempts to get it right and i have decent gear... the things i do for alts! Hope this helps.

Last night we did Jandice and i put a skull raid marker above her head and it stayed there the whole fight, made it really easy to find the real "jandice". She disapears when the illusion copies appear then she comes back like 1 sec after then spawn, the raid marker stayed on here. So anyone looking to make this fight easier try that.

She has an annoying effect where she can create mutiple illusions of herself to confuse you. Best way to combat this is create a macro with the line
/target Jandice so you can always target the 'real'
her.

You can use a targeting macro to get her /target Xname.

Clicking wont work well. By the time yuo find the real one and attempt to click her in all those illusions and movement..well good luck to that. Using the healthbars from V wont work. Becuase they're all together and the healthbars get pushed ontop of each other when that happens and move loads.

Or you can just mark her if that works.

her images are immune to AOE

You'll learn how to make felcloth bags if you right click on her book when hes dead :P You need to be tailor of course. It's a 24 slot bag for soul shards.

the easiest way to fight jandice, and requires no macro, is to just hit V before you fight her.

V brings up mob's nameplates, and health bars. the 'real' jandice will be the only one with a health bar, and you can click the bar to target her.
