A new season 3 offhand that will be avaliable in patch 2.3

There seems to be two caster offhands avaliable in season 3.

The other one is Vengeful Gladiator's Endgame ( https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=33681 ).

Endgame features more damage and intellect, while Grimoire has spell 35 spell penetration.

Might be a good choice to pick up both and switch depending on the enemies you face in the arena.

This seems to be a "counter" to shadow resist spells such as the paladin aura and priest spell.
+70 for each of those, which don't stack with eachother.

20 spell penetration to cloak
10 spell penetration on Veteran's Band of Dominance
35 from this new off-hand.

You're now dealing with 5 shadow resist, which may be zero if a new Season 3 honor ring is released with 5 more penetration.

A grimoire is a textbook of magic. Books of this genre, typically giving instructions for invoking angels or demons, performing divination and gaining magical powers.
This typically gives the impression that the item is meant for Warlocks.

Blizzard seems to have removed this item from the release of Season 3. I have not seen any blue post regarding what has happened to it. It's a shame since it would have been useful in getting Undead/Draenei/Blood Elves with Shadow Protection to 0 Shadow Resistance (which is now not possible without sacrificing gem slots or replacing a PvP item with a PvE item). The other option would be to get the new War Staff, however whether or not the loss of damage and resil for spell penetration and crit is a good trade for an Affliction Warlock or Shadow Priest is debatable.
