to be honest i find this head as priest crazy, its better then almost all cloth chest items.... good to see that blizzard does value spirit at some point :)

hope they soon move the meta sockets over to chest/leggings :P

Drops off of Teron Gorefiend. Sadly, slightly worse than T5, but still a great helm for a priest or druid none the less.

Assumptions: I like to gem based on boosting existing stats. Because of this, I think it'd be a 'waste' to put in a healing/mp5 gem for the Cowl as you'd only be 'gaining' a couple of MP5.
Also, I'm going to assume non MH/BT Gems.

I'm going to ignore the Thrall . HH enchant too since it's a wash.
Hood:
36 sta
40 int + 4 = 44
Red: +18 healing
Yellow: +9 healing + 4 int
Blue: + 9 healing, + 2mp5
Socket bonus: +2 mp5
+90 base healing + 36 gems = 126 healing
+13 mp5 + 4 gems/bonus = 17 mp5

Vs Cowl:
39 sta
27 int
42 spi + 8 = 50
Blue: +8 spirit (following my max stat idea)
Socket bonus: + 9 healing
118 base healing + 9(socket), +12 spirit = 149

So, since I'm too lazy to calculate Spirit - mana conversion, esp with the 2.4 changes, I'd say

Equipping the cowl (and using a spirit gem) yields:
+3 STA
-17 Int
+50 spirit
+23 heals
-17mp5

with the new increase to mp5 by spirit this helm is better in every aspect to t6

I wouldn't quite say this is *better* than T6 in *every* regard.

For fights where you're only doing tank healing, ala Supremus, this fight is the clear winner due to the ability to stay outside 5SR. However, on COH-heavy fights like Bloodboil, ROS and Illidan T6 wins.

However, both are great helms and since this one isn't massively useful for druids you can probably pick it up for minimum bid as a priest....so you might as well do so and swap them out as needed. Of course, if you're unable to kill Archimonde or are saving DKP for other pieces of T6, by all means pick this up for cheap if you can!

It has slightly less int, but it has the 42 spirit which makes it great for trees. added with the 15 more +healing which can be replaced in the leather helm with the red 22 healing gem. but you put a purple 13 healing gem in this and its still better in every way. besides the fact that its cloth. Spirit has become a lot better for druids then plain mp5 :)

The ring doesn't show up when the item is worn. It's a small bug and it's the same deal with the t6 Priest helm. In the dressing room it looks fine, but it scales incorrectly when worn.
