Thos Offering Of the Sha'tar is after a hard quest: read comment number 2 .... green tabard is rarer then purple must likely you'll get purple... purple:53.2% green:22.4%

This and https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=31404 are great items for female dwarves. Helps distinguish their characters sex; since there almost is no way of telling if they're wearing a covering helm.

If this is the tabard you wanted and you got the Green version:

If you don't get what you want the first time, DO NOT loot the box and wait 2 hrs, every chest resets after 1-2 hrs, you will get what you want eventually.

This comes as a reward from this quest line:

Battle of the Crimson Watch

It's aquired by getting The Journal of Val'zareq from Val'zareq in SMV.

It's a 4-5man battle, 4 waves. Not terribly difficult.

As a note, you don't get to choose if you get the green or purple tabbard, it's random which tabbard comes from the reward box you get.

did it with 4 lvl 70 and 1x 69. Not that hard tbh.
the event is 3 waves with mobs, followed by a boss. you can regen between the waves (drink/eat).

1st wave is 7ish lvl 59-60 elites. (with low hp)

2nd wave is 2 eye's that do heavy spell dmg. they you can easily interrup their draining spells as they are stunnable/kickable etc.

3rd wave is 4x 70 elites wich it HARD! and gives you a curse (+50%fire dmg). You'll better decurse that cause the fireblast they'll create will hurt.

4th wave is a boss, thas pretty much tank and kill.

so if you get pass the 3 first mob waves you're moust likely succeed.

Val'zereq the Conqueror, found patroling the Path of the Conqueror, drops the item needed to start this line of quests.

Ended up doing the last leg of this chain w/ 10 people total, two groups in Shadowmoon were doing the quest and it wasn't working out for either of us so we got together and did it twice, once for each group. Got a purple tabard, wanted the green one. Such is life. :(

Phase 1: A ton of level 70 elites

Phase 2: 2 eye things that drain or something

Phase 3: 4 or 5 level 70 elites

Phase 4: Boss

That's how it went for my group, we did okay on the first 3 phases on the boss, we got whooped really bad because out tank got taken out in 3 hits

I did this battle with my guild today. We 5 manned it no prob and I got the rewards at the end. I have the box and can right click it to see the Purple Tabbard. For some reason though it will not let me loot the tabbard. Has anyone else run across this problem?

Alright so i found a really cool way to get the tabard u want REGARDLESS of the one you orignially see in the box. When u complete the quest and get the box simply right click it to see what u got inside DO NOT loot yet. Say theres a Green tabard but u wanted a purple one. Just look inside without looting. then log out-log back in and look inside. if its still not the color u want keep repeating until it does. This is a bug that can be done by server resets etc. Good luck and have a great time with your new awesoem tabard = )

Did it with 3 man, Me, my gf and my brother, Holy priest, protection warrior and Retri paladin, Paladin has some pvp epix and warrior was whole blue and i have some kara epix and etc, Easy as hell, actually did it twice because paladin didn't get it done in first try, so don't bother to find massive group, you only need some teamwork

Hardest part is definetly the second wave with those two big brain thingys.

We all had purple tabards \o/

Started this with feral druid, me (hunter), MMS hunter, mage. We got to the third wave and druid thinks he can tank and heal. Starts trying to heal and he dies, then the rest of us. Did it three times, that was the only time we got that far. Rest of the time we didn't get past the first wave. >.<

Would i be correct in assuming that the purple and green tunics are a nod to Babylon 5?

This was rly easy. Firstly all we did was clear a few mobs and nuke the 70 elite. then we didnt even need 2 clear the mobs around the crystalline prison and we just began the 4 stages.
My grp did with only 4 ppl and we could easily manage with 3..

grp was :

70 Balance Druid
70 Feral Druid
70 Prot Pally
70 Holy Priest

easy.

The first wave ahs low hp and I managed to kill one 70 elite in 3 casts. The second wave is a bit tricky but mainly because tis ahrd 2 hold the aggro. Third wave is similair to first but hard, still pretty easy tho. Final "wave" is a 72 elite guy who youd think would be hard but he turned out easy. The only thing you need 2 be careful of is his Reflect Shield which can get nasty if your a pwoerful caster. If u have any probs or need help then u can w/ me on my druid.

This fight involves waves of enemies.

Wave 1: Dreadlord, Felguards and blood elves. The demons can be banished, the humanoids can be sheeped/feared.

Wave 2: Two "Beholders", called Illidari mind-breakers. The mind-breakers have two spells: A Mind Blast that causes 4000 damage, and a drain spell that does 500 damage per second.

Wave 3: Four Illidari highlords (more blood elves). They use Flamestrike and a debuff that increases Fire damage you take by 50%. It is recommended that the tank move these around in a circle to avoid the Flamestrikes.

Wave 4: The boss, Torleth the Magnificent. He has an AoE Shadowfury that does 1500 damage and knocks players back. Beyond that, he can be simply tanked down. If a player is casting a heal and is knocked back by his Shadowfury, the heal will heal about 50% of his health, so have your healer move away when he casts Shadowfury.
