It is a great headpiece for shaman, warrior, and hunter.

People may ask why a warrior because its not plate. Well warriors don't have much better helmets (dps wise) unless it hits bwl, or even further. 2% crit, and +44 AP is awesome.

I would suggest getting Dragonstalker's helm over this if you can get the 3 piece set bonus, just my opinion.

most people say this is a hunter helm. you will find, however, that almost every dps warrior is after this helm. the crazy +ap and 2%crit chance makes it one of the best dps helms for any mail wearing class in the game.

Warriors should be using Helm of Endless Rage off of Vael in Black Wing Lair; however like stated above this helm is decent for warriors, regardless of it being mail it is the stats that matter.

Hunters, your best shot for helm choice is indeed the Tier 2 Dragonstalker's helm off of Onyxia. Crown of Destruction is bloody amazing for FR, however, yet you will have almost no chance of winning this over warriors. :(

Great Hunter and Warrior helm, I used it for a good Fire Resist helm for awhile, honestly could go either way. This isn't a 100% drop off Ragnoras though, that's for sure.

Well the main reason I am guessing that most people say this is a hunter weapon isthe fact that at 60 we are the only real class that wear mail. Shamans do but for the most part they go a healing spec for end game raids. You are right joshka DPS warriors will be seen wearing this but again warriors at 60 wear mostly plate. Any DPS class that can wear mail should wear this helm it is very good for us. Even pallies. Probably them over most becuase of the spirit and intel stats on it.

One item I know I won't be getting rid of even as I level my warrior to 70. It's just too damn sexy to lose.

And it's been said already, but the FR is nice, the dps stats are extremely nice at 60, and the int and spirit are great for warriors to be able to laugh about and be glad they got the item over a hunter. =D

I would and have taken Dragonstalker's over the CoD. The set bonus of DS is awesome. While the extra% chance to crit is nice in the CoD, my crit % is fairly high with DS and GS gear, blackhands breadth and the like.

I am a Warrior, and I would say we get more PvP benefit out of a Lionheart, and there are much better helms for tanking. I would never roll/bid on this.

And yes, it's very close to a dragonstalker's helm, which only goes to prove it's for hunters. I mean c'mon guys, if it's so similar to a hunter only item, who else would it be for?

If somebody other than a hunter wants to roll/bid on it, I wish them luck, but they should also take a look at what else is out there before jumping at any epic they see.

Oh, and to hunterhater, who said every class does critical strikes, yes you are correct, but they are more efficient when caused by a class that already does more DPS, like a hunter or rogue.

I'm a dps warrior, and I got one of these last night. It should definitely go to a hunter if they want it, but we had 2 hunters on the raid: one had it, and the other had Giantstalker and Dragonstalker already.

I'll still be using my might helm most of the time, but if I need to go all-out damage (in situations where my HP and AC don't matter), this helm is godly for a warrior. Hell...aside from the AC, it's almost on par with the Helm of Endless Rage, and better than the Lionheart (and a lot cheaper). Damage mitigation for 200AC on a fully geared warrior is laughable anyway.

I actually passed this to a shaman last night (I'm a hunter) because I'm waiting on my dragonstalker helm (which is a relatively common drop of Onyxia). I couldn't justify spending dkp on this when I can easily get something better (and part of my tier 2 set). On a side note, people who have never been to MC shouldn't be posting here. The guy who brought megashot rifle into this discussion and was calling the shamans stupid did make me laugh though :)

I played an enhance shaman to 60 then respeced out, and I kno fora fact that this helm would be pretty awesome for one. BUT from what Ive heard from many good hunters is that the major stats for them are attack power, +crit, and sta. Since at 60 hunters just stay at range and blast away while tryin not to be caught, I see why these stats would be the best. +crit and attack pwr for more dmg, +sta for when u do get caught. This has all 3 in spades. As for wars/pallies stay within ur own armor class Lionheart ftw I personally like the dkp system b/c it helps stop hacks and gives the good *!@# to ppl who work for it. Please no flamin these are just my thoughts.

Given that a hunter has... 5/5 Lethal Shot, 5/5 Mortal Shot, 0/5 Ranged Weapon Spec, 5/5 Survivalist, 5/5 Lightning Reflexes, a 14% quiver, and any decent epic bow (I'm using the Rhok'delar as the model)... which seem to me to be pretty standard circumstances for a hunter in a Rag-killing guild in 1.9...

Taking off a Giantstalker's Helm and putting on a Crown of Destruction results in these changes:
A minor change in armor (plus or minus 10 armor)
A minor shifting of int/spirit
>Same< fire resistance
AND!
An overall decrease in DPS, by .07

Taking off a Dragonstalker's Helm and putting on a Crown of Destruction results in these changes:
A decrease in armor, by ~50
A decrease in stamina, by 3
A minor shifting of int/spirit
A change in resist from +10shadow/+10frost -> +10fire
AND!
An overall decrease in DPS, by .96

Thus, the CoD is NOT an upgrade for a hunter who has a GS or DS Helm. Do the friggin math yourself, or bum off http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/ like I did. Kty!

this is basically one of the few enhancment shamy gear luckily i just changed my tree about a week back so im enhancement now and im so glad i did cause tonight i got helm of destruction and the other day i got bloodstained hauberk from zg and jekiliks crusher (i know jekliks crusher sucks and would make a better nexus crystal but it was alot better than my mass of mcgowan and husk of nerub enkan combo :P) so im sitin pretty good on damage gear and with my earthfury armor i love it =) this helm is pwnge for enhancement shamy

the D-Stalker has a 10 attack power bonus over the Crown but it has .5 crit(approzimatley) less.

Would .5 crit be better or would the 1 attack power make more of a difference. Now D-stalker would be better for survival but about total DPS.
with kings on d-stalker additional 2.7 Agility>>>5.4 AP

And also for FR. that G-Stalker and the crown have the same FR. But G-stalker has only 2 AP more than the Crown but the Crown carrying the additional .6 crit( approximately)
with 1400 AP the 2 AP is only .0014% of your total AP.
with kings on G-stalker and additional 2.3 agility>>> 4.6 AP
.041 crit

Also. This is not including set bonuses. Such as the helm makes a 6th piece which makes no difference on the bonus.

Like all non set peice items, most raiding guilds will set priority of those who it will most benefit. in this case, I personally would make it hunter priority. For those who get to farm status on rag and beyond, there is no need to argue.
I have played both Hunter and shaman. Yes I'd take spend dkp on this for my hunter.No way would I waste dkp as shaman.The gear you get in raiding will be used in benefit of future raiding, and progression. If your a raiding shaman, your enhancement skills aren't used (asside from trash mobs). Thats ussually reserved for off time pvp. For those that do want it for pvp, they'd have to pretend to be resto a long time and then /gquit if they plan on using it for non raiding. If they want to use it for raiding, than they need to research they're class more. Ultimatly, it's an item, not set peice. If you wish to spend, than spend.

Anyone who believes that shaman don't deserve this and should just "spam frost shock" should make a shaman and an enhance shaman if anything so you can see why this helm would be good for an enchance shaman. I have this on my paladin, i got it a while back, but i just came over this item on Allakhazam while checking for other boss drops etc.
It is amazing helm, the graphic hardly goes with anything else, but hey it's something. Oh yeah +100hp enchant on it, now that Zul Gurub is out, i want the paladin Zg enchant 10denfence, 10stam and some healing effects, That is nicer for PVP than pve.

im a MS arms warrior on silvermoon...i have this helm...it IS THE BEST DPS HELM PRE BWL...ya it ig great for shammys and hunters to...but if your a dps warrior like i am this is great and ya the stats are more shammy and hunter but it has 44 attack power and +2 to crit...how is that not good for a warrior... its helped me top out the dps charts in my guilds MC runs so i think that speaks for its self...

Warriors need to get over themselves on this one. Sure...it has +2% crit...but when you look at the other stats, other than stam, it's a shammy/hunter piece. For the rest of you...it's a novelty item...it's not worth this dkp unless no hunters/shammies want it.

On alliance side, if the hunters all pass, should usually goes to a War in our guild. Most Hunters we have already have this helm, the one time that the Warrior got it, he had a lot of DKP and no other hunter challenged.

For horde probably same Mail Class (Hunt/Sham) then War for the looks...just for the looks b/c I think Lionheart's 2% Chance to Hit beats the 23 Stam and Lionheart has 18 str or 36 attack already.

Just that Lionheart is so damn PLAIN, BLIZZ PLZ MAKE IT A LIONHEAD!

This is not for Warriors... or Paladins. As much as it looks cool, has decent stats, and looks cool; get the balls to save for your Lionheart Helm. Shamans and Hunters have my Warrior's vote to take this drop. Lionheart all the way! So what if it costs alost of money from all that arcanite and thorium and rare crystals and rare plans... It should be called "Gilette", because it's the best a man can get. If this comes up and I see Arcanite Bars/materials to make Arcanite Bars, I will trade this BOP item (before it's given) for precious metal... Oh, my Sulfuras and Thunderfury... HERE I COME!

Got this hem 3 weeks ago.
It's a very nice helm for a retribution paladin.
The stats are perfect. Enchant it with 150 mana or if you have enough mana with +8 agi and you have an endgame helmet.

Btw, our off-warrior also took this last week.
The 2% crit, 44 AP and 23 stam are absolutely usefull for warriors too.

I laugh when I see other warriors use this. Yeah, +2 crit, woo. Arms should go for Helm of Endless rage, or Conquerors. Sure, if this is the only helm you can get, go for it, but dont gimp the hunters or shammies.

If I see a fury warrior with this, I'd be ashamed. Im fury, and I can say the best pve dps helm you can ever have is Lionheart Helm. Screw replacing LHH with this, I'll take my 32 AP and my +2% hit, tyvm.

Warriors should only spend their DKP if no other Shaman or Hunter is wanting it, if it is the case that a Mail wearer wants it, get your dirty fingers of it. You will get it soon enough. Until that, go and get the Helm of Endless Rage or the Lionheart Helm

Pallys basicly want it for its int,stamina,and spirit so they can heal a tiny bit better and the fire resistant for other MC raids,and since pallys dont wear plate all the time to MC they will try to get it,though the attack power and the chance to crit is more for the hunters.

Lol, are u a dps warrior? no. have u really taken a look at the stats. No. Yes its good for a shaman but can also be good for a warrior. I have both a lionheart helm and this. First of all the lionheart and crown have same amount of + crit, but the lionheart has no other stats beside +hit, which is good but 230 health and what is equal to 22 strength in AP is much better for PVE imo. Also dont forget about the 10FR. Even better for the 2 end game raids along with onyxia. (MC/BWL/OL)

Dropped and I got it not too long ago, submitted a picture of 2 in our guild wearing it, will see if they put it up here, aww, they cut away the nightelf wearing it in the background. Anyway, the gun is a Core Markmans Rifle, quite nifty.

The first ever dropped crown for us went to a hunter, all subsequent ones (3) to palas. Everyone and his pet already has Dragonstalker and doesn't want to break the set for this one. The Warriors are hoping for the superior Helm of Endless Rage.

I just got this last night. It dropped from Rag two weeks in a row. IMHO it's better than the DS helm alone. We're still wiping on Razorgor so nobody's getting more than the pants and the helm anytime soon so I don't have to worry about completing the set.

Hunters are more interested in Ranged Attack Power than crits. Crits are nice but should not be the main focus. Dragonstalker's 27 Agility is 54 RAP and Giantstalker's 23 Agility is 46 RAP. Crown of Destruction is inferior to either set helms, all it does is make you look cool.

im warrior and a dps one (in mc im always the 4place at dps)this item is nice and if nobody want it from the hunters (im ally so i dont have the shamy prob;)) i would take it. but anyway the pvp rank 10 helmet is almost the same when not better so when a warrior say its for my pvp guer so then make pvp for getting the helmet so and then about the lionheart helmet i dont think that this is better for a dps warri but whatever the helmet of endless rage is fine to but i think its almost the same as the crown only negative point is its mail i think anyway that everyone hunter shamy pally and warrior are taking this only because of the look . My guild brings at least 2 enhancement shamans and 2 elemental shamans on every raid. We have no shamans with more than 21 points in resto and we can heal and DPS just fine. I'm a melee shaman and last night I made 7th place DPS and 11th place healing, right behind the priests/druids and one other shaman. We're killing domo tonight, yup, probably rag too. I intend to get this thing as soon as it drops and I believe our warriors would die before stealing this from us. The hunters are passing because they have good tier 1 and tier 2 helms and care more about making sure us melee shamans get a helm too.

The people who think shamans need mana tide and regularly complain about ones that don't, IN MOLTEN CORE WHICH IS EASY, are either stuck-up rogues/mages/etc. that only fulfill a DPS roll, or someone that has been stuck into a roll themselves, such as prot warrior, and wants to make sure no one else has fun either. I can heal fine with 20 points in resto, as far as shaman heals go.

As for warriors making more use of it, go farm a lionheart helm, and while you're at it, it's fine, lrn2play.

As a fury dps warrior, who has the rank 10 pvp helm/shoulders this was still nice for me to have, I use the blue pvp boots now instead, if you can find the hit% elsewhere then the extra crit makes this really good. And you want to keep the rare pvp 2set bonus for the 40AP! As a Warrior you're constantly juggling gear, set bonuses, hit chance etc.

One day I'll own lionheart though!
