The drop rate on this helm is probably one of the most horrid I've ever seen. I've been farming him for the better part of a week, killing him anywhere between 4 and 10 times a day. I've seen the Ace of Portals twice and the epic pattern for the warlocks three times.

So if you want this helm, be prepared for a long farm unless you havea lot of luck.

Bah! Hunters with Shadowcraft... but of course why don't we screw a rogue, just because u can use something that's not for you... After i saw yesterday a mage with a Dal'rend Sacred Charge nothing can amaze me anymore.
Yo, mister "I'm a !@#$ leather using hunter" , a little hint for you. Check out Beaststalker's Cap, from the hunter's CLASS set... Well? Ok, i'll explain just for u. Mail>Leather - more armor for the hunties who really suck in close combat. It also has the same amount of agi and even more stamina on it. Oh yeah, and it also has mana on it and hunters do need mana. So what happens now? U just have to say us how greedy YOU REALLY ARE, not us rogues and how will u screw us up, just because u can? Well, go play Diablo or smthing, there u can manage to get 10-15 Shako's a day, but this is WoW and this cap doesn't drop very often u know... Ppl like u should really get banned from all raids.

I am a hunter, and i aggree with all the angry rogues out there. This is NOT a hunter's set. Hunter's need mana (which someone pointed out earlier) and the hunter that said this WAS a set for hunters is a complete retaard. Even though we dont need "mail cause our pets are tanks" we still use it for PvP. Cause other real peeps aren't affected by growl, so we can use the mail when we have a paladin, or a warrior breathin down our necks. So all you rogues, i got love for you, this is YOUR set.

Just got mine, after what was both a very good and very bad night in Scholo. Was experiencing PC problems and was D/C'ing before or after every major boss fight. I was lucky to have friends and guildmates with me, who put up with my unreliability. Especially since we didn't have a Druid with us, and thusly I was still allowed to roll need and win on the two Cadaverous pieces that dropped as well!

Funny that this is now regulated to being a part of vanity wear, like Cadaverous. The level 50 Rogue quest is clearly better than the Shadowcraft Cap, as well as the Eye of Rend. So much so that I fully expect the set pieces individually or as a set to be given an overhawl in the near future. Still, getting sets are some of the goals for endgame as you gather ready for the Core and Blackwing Lair.

Here is the breakdown of effect to the stats of the four head slots for Rogues:

Shadowcraft:
+33 attack power
+.69% crit
+1.25% dodge
+180 hp
+5 Spirit (Blizzard seems to think Rogues want it)
Part of a set

Eye of Rend:
+13 attack power
+2% to crit
+70 hp

Ebon Mask:
+36 attack power
+1% to crit
+110 HP

The way I see it, the Ebon mask is possibily the best of the three in terms of overall benefit to continuous, reliable DPS. Burst damage, for PvP, will be greatly improved by the Eye of Rend. The shadowcraft cap wins in times where burst damage is secondary (When you don't want to draw off the main tank) and dodging and taking another hit is your desire, and if you have many pieces it can counteract some of the losses for the other, numerically superior items.

I see a lot of Rogues below level to obtain this are browsing this, so here is my suggestion: Get all three but know when to swap out.

Running through IF i saw a former guildmate of mine running into the bank. I ran in so i could give my usual /hug to her and saw she was now in full Shadowcraft! I have a massive problem with this... She is a FREAKIN HUNTER! I asked her about it and she said that she was going to collect all the sets using any means necessary. OMG that is the most f****d up thing i had seen to that point. That is like my warrior being in full BS. I admit that i once wound up with the LF helm but there were no pallys and it was a greed roll to sell since we also had no enchanters.

I used to freaking LIVE in scholomace. I was buddy buddy with the necrofiends, I made sweet sweet love to rattlegore every night (and morning), I even ....okay thats not the point of this post, I digress.
My first sc win was the boots, totally unexpectedly off of some undead construct. yay. I thought I was done. But no, after ogling at the ancient bone bows my fellow guildies had, I knew I couldnt live without one. (up until 60 I had been using those throwing daggers that you get from the head of ravenholdt manner in exchange for junkboxes...yeah pretty bad). So I made it my goal to get that freaking bow, it just looked so goddamn cool. Mind you, the big reason I kept going back again and again was the hopes of getting my shadowcraft cap..not just the bow.
On my 20th or so run, it FINALLY dropped. I think I cried. By then I was so sick of scholo I vowed never to return. I farmed DM instead and got the felhide cap, thinking it would suffice. However, a few weeks later I saw the chance to do a 5 man scholo. Now, I had never succesfully completed a 5 man...so I thought, hey, maybe this is the key to getting my sc cap. Yeah, you guessed it, it took about 4 hours of my life and a cringing repair bill, but it freaking dropped. I couldn't have been happier. What I think I'm saying is that if it hasn't been dropping for you and you've been doing only scholo raids, give a 5 man a try, you just might be surprised.

Was going through scholo, it was the only rogue item of ANY value... and the warrior decided to roll on it to pay for his repair bill. Of course since my luck is awful, I rolled a 9. He rolled an 87. So in conclusion... I hate everybody.

After about 25 runs thru Scholo, I was starting to think these would never drop... Finally, last night went in with a 10-man group (as the only rogue) and got boots AND helm! Seems like the drops were ALL ROGUE on that run, as 3 pieces of the Cadaverous set also dropped.. I was the only enchanter on the run, so they got sharded and given as end loot.. Didn't want to be greedy-- THANKS TO ALL ON RUN! It was a great run good people.

on another note- went on 3 runs after that (in different instances) with some people from a guild who like to do speed runs thru instances and time themselves to try to beat each other.. is it just me or does this take a <litle bit> of the fun out of the game? No talking and pure killing for an hour.. I play to be social and get along with people.. Seemed like these people did it for a living.. lol

only 3 more SC pieces to go! WOOT!

Dropped for me in my scholo run today, been there 6 times. Boots dropped at same run.
I were the only non-epix rogue in group and i got em bout. ofc a idiot said i have used my need, what a poor guy....

Well, drop rate is low, but its not that hard to get it, just don't go with someone else that needs it.

I am a druid with 31 in resto and 20 in feral. I dont pack a large punch and kit is essential to me. Don't get me wrong I am not a ninja and would never dream of rolling on rogue items in the presence of a rogue that needed but I did a 5 man to strat last night (No rogue in party) and I wasnt even expecting anything when the baron dropped the leggings. I asked if anyone minded me needing as to vendor sell them or shard them would be a crime and everyone was cool with it. I am in a large guild and we are all doing MC and Onyxia so I reckon I can get a few runs to Strat and Scholo and BRS for the rest of this gear. I am wondering (Since the shadowcraft set bonus' are aweful for a Druid) if there are better alternatives out there for a feral set?

Sad to know there are feral druids of there putting sc on need when there is a rogue there trying to get it as well.

Im a feral druid, and got 5/8 of the set. All the times tho I've been in for wildheart (go figure), and instead sc dropped. and each and everytime, there has been no rogue present in party. so I ask the goup if its ok for me to need on the item, hey its not exactly what I was out for, but Its better then what I have.
and if gropup says yes, ok, say no. than you dont need on it.

So totaly agreed with rogues. rogues = 1priority class. then u can think about getting it.

I think it is extremely weird that all the Rogue gear is Sooo perfect for Feral druids. It makes me cry :(. And for any freakin hunters that want these sets, you guys need to stop. No where do hunters need strength, and there is mail gear with equal agility and close to equal stamina.

Alright, first of all, rogues should get first choice over SC peices,if no rogues need it the next in line of priority are feral druids, if none of them need it, then and ONLY then, should hunters be allowed to need it, and if they suck cause they use it, thats their own fault.

i have been there like 10 a 15 times in ever instance that can drop schadowcraft and never never drops a schadowcraft piece. so i am still schadowcraftless :( i hope o my next runs to all these instances they drop :P hehe

I have done this instance now 25times... runs takes 1h 30min (or under) with guildies but with PuG this takes +2h... so i have spent right now like 50h on this = 2days (24/2) and still no drops... this is rly starting to pissing me off cmon its like 7% drop chance! drop already and i bet when it drops some1 ninja it -.- so GG/GZ to all who have or are trying to get this item.

First run of the night i get nothing from rattlegore or any other bosses, and then this sweet baby drops of darkmaster. ^_^ its really good, and a nice piece to replace felhide cap.

I've ran Scholomance daily for the last 2-3 months and have never seen this drop. But yet the Devout crown drops almost all the time.

I give up. Blizzard, you really screwed this one up. How can we rogues complete our Darkmantle set with this horrible drop rates?

I can't explain the anger after spending all that time in Scholo, just to see another squishy crown drop.

yay got this sweaty today i was on my 4th sholo run we cleared all bosses and finally i was sooo happy it droped also with sieltn fang what i wanted but stupid warrior rolled higher than me think reogues need way mroe but eayh im lucky ;-)

Ok Im not sure but i think im lucky when it comes to SC cap. First run, this didnt drop. I thought "ok typical of SC helm". Then suddenly I see this drop in the next 3 runs consecutively, first time there was a hunter but he didnt dare roll on it (I WAS ML XD). Second time we rolled on the shard, same for the last time. SC boots didnt drop though :S. guy can someone tell me if Bloodvine Lens (血藤透镜 or this is better?

Ok i have read on here before of other rogues who have no luck seeing this damn piece drop and posted here and apparently after they posted here they saw it drop on there next scholo run. So i figure i give it a shot cause this is just BS. I have ran scholo 52 times in a row now ( will prob be a lot more)and i have NEVER seen this piece drop. i mean WTF my luck must really suck. anyway other rogues have had luck getting drop after posting here so i figure i have nothing to loose....

5 days. 5 pieces. No rolling.

I've been incredibly lucky so far with picking up the set. Every time a piece has dropped the other rogue (or two) have already had the piece so it's defaulted to me. On my Scholo run, the other rogue said that I could have ALL SC pieces that dropped and both the boots and hat dropped and he kept his word, even though he didn't have a cap himself, and passed the cap to me. I told him it would be ok if he changed his mind but he said no.

So far in the past week I've been on:

1 Drak Raid. Chest dropped, two other rogues had it.
2 LBRS raids. Didn't even kill shadow hunter the first time, second time through we got him and he dropped the gloves, only other rogue already had the gloves.
1 Scholo raid that I talked about earlier. Both Boots and Cap drop and I get them both.

1 Baron Raid. No drop.
1 Scarlet Strath raid. No drop.

I AH'd the Belt for 60g. A good price I think.

So after a week I'm down to only needing 3 pieces without having to roll once!

my druid did about 35runs to get its helm

iv only ever seen SC helm drop twice
second last ruun on my drood it droped and my druid got
because there were no rogues in group and i was feral / restro so was colecting both sets SC only when a rogue DID not need otherwise i passed

i saw it once on my rogue.. probly around the 25th run.. but a restrto druid Ninjaed it.. he said "i needed it for soloing cuzz restro druids cant solo"
so.. im going on my high 70 runns in scholo.. i wouldent mind it droping soon.. iv been saveing BP for last soo i still have to go get it and now that damn Evist book.. gonna be in Ubrs forever.. and going in with tier 2 rogues.. im not gonna have the book for a while.. but might get BP hey who knows

but i have full set.. sept helm and bp i need to do 45Min baron atm workin on DM :) wish me luck all here we go back to scholo! RAWR

Approximately 65 Scholomance runs, sometimes three times a day, and I have yet to see this drop. It's really ticking me off because it's the last piece I need and I can not yet turn in my last Darkmantle quest without it. Scholomance lost it's charm after the 15th run. Come on, Blizzard. Cut me some slack!

I went in hoping for the shadowcraft cap (I'm a feral druid) and ended up getting the wildheart cowl. Group said I should take it so I guess either way I got a nice headpiece.

For some reason when i look over every area that drops the tier 1 dungeon sets. (Shadowcraft, magister's, devout, etc). The clothies have the most % chance for them to actually drop. I mean the shoulders have a 12% chance of the lich rasfrostwhisper in Scholo. While we rogues are stuck with a cruddy % chances. For instance. I mean i know we can crush mages quickly ( Except himan mages) because of our great abilities to slow the caster and pretty much halt their actions. But giving us up to 5% less chance and then having us try to farm our set. I mean it would be easier to pay 750g to get the whole set than to try to get the items with about 5% chance of dropping.

I got this on my 4th 5 man run. First two times Valor helm dropped then some other thingy, third time I found out you can't beat Barov with a Druid, but need a priest.

Since both Garr and Ony hate me and hence, never... ever... drop NS/BF, I have to resort to endless scholo runs to get this cap. I've tried all the other pre-MC helms for rogues, and none of them are particularly to my liking. Hoping this one is better.

Been running Scholo since September trying to get this to drop. Once, it did...lost the roll to a rogue in full PvP gear. Second time just yesterday the leader let a druid roll on this and I lost again..

Well, i've done 16 runs of Scholo in one week. i think i've seen everything but the wildheart and of course my shadowcraft. its really starting to get old. but i guess what do you expect when you do 38 baron runs for your pants. anyway, i refuse to give up on finding this set. all i need are the cap and chest, then i can upgrade to the darkmantle. just waiting to get the cap and chest before i turn in the rest. wanna be able to get the other 5 pieces all at once.

Lucky me with SC items. First Gandling kill the cap drops... Won! Second kill the cap drops... again... druid gets it. Drakki first kill nothing, second.. nothing... third... Bingo! SC chest drops. Cannon Master first kill and i got lucky with the shoulders. Got the wrist and waist off of the AH. Besides all that just got the boots today. :D Two more and i'm home free :D
Piece of advice... don't get this unless you're aiming for Darkmantle. The Ebon Mask surpasses it in all but stamina (SC has +8) and spirit (which i don't know your opinion but i find useless). Plus the drop rate is pretty pathetic... Ebon Mask is fully guaranteed and is more useful in PvP plus the quest chain in fairly easy (finding an ST party being the hardest part).

As of Patch 1.10, the new set bonus is as follows...

(2) Set: +200 Armor.
(4) Set: +40 Attack Power.
(6) Set: Chance on melee attack to restore 35 energy.

Heinz - learn to write english, and silent fang is best for tanking warriors, because of the proc, and REALLY not good for rogues since its fast and has low damage. You oughta be lucky getting outrolled on it.

Well, we did 3 Scholoruns within 2 days.
10 man raid, 2 Rogues.
Day one: First Scholorun, random crap, Dreadmist Mantle.
Still day one: Second Scholorun, Shadowcraft Boots (Yoink, other Rogue already had them), Ancient Bone Bow (Both Rogues rolled, I won), Shadowcraft Cap (Both Rogues rolled, I lost)

I went to bed, I was really pissed, but hey, I got 2 nice items anyway.

Day two: Second Scholorun, some random crap, and w00t, Shadowcraft Cap again, so I got it really fast :)

I say if you don't see it in your first 5 runs don't even try for it, that can be said about every blue set piece for every class. There are plenty of alternatives, better, same, or slightly worse and spending 40+ hours looking for something like this is pointless. What you need to do instead of looking for dungeon sets is fr gear to prepare for MC, then you'll just skip this. I remember doing scholo about 5 times before i gave up on my valor helm, now I use Helm of Wrath. So try not to waste your time, i know from experience.
