If your looking for a good macro to free up some button space, try this one. It combines pet attack, hunters mark and kill command in 1 button.

/petattack
/petdefensive
/castsequence reset=combat/target Hunter's Mark, kill command, kill command, kill command, kill command

It basically sends your pet in, puts in defensive stance (maybe remove that for instances) and casts hunters mark. Subsequent presses of the button will issue a kill command. Careful not to spam it as you will reset back to hunters mark. If you kill the mob/change target, it will reset back to hunters mark. This can happen quite easily as you have to wait for the global cooldown before the command is issued, so keep an eye on the icon before you press.

Great for soloing but use cautiously in instances.

As of now i am a Draenei Hunter lv 43; 31/0/3 going BM spec i was wondering if there are any other BM hunters who care to tell me if i should invest two talent points to Focus Fire or if i should move it to some where else like thick hide, or aspect of the hawk.

I'm assuming that it means that the kill command will no cause the pet to strike its current target, rather than the hunter's target (which may be different).

If u want something (or some1) to die, use this+BW+stun and you have a very, very good headstart with dmg.

Kill command now costs 40focus. 37 with glyph

Also Kill Command seems to work when target is out of sight(mean behind a wall or pillar).
Nice for bg and arena. U cant hide anymore!

Kill Command is the signature ability for BM since 4.0.1
During Bestial Wrath you'll want to spend on KC any bit of focus you can spare.

It may be useful to point that your pet doesn't benefit from any proc granting you "ranged" attack power. The talented Bestial Wrath has a rather short cooldown and you'll probably want to use it as soon as it is available (provided that you are nearly full on focus) instead of waiting for procs.

It is a situational ability for SV and MM instead, since it does much less damage and is outperformed by far by Arcane Shot. You can use it e.g. while fleeing from Sindragosa's Blistering Cold if you're caught while full on focus and aren't confident with using Arcane Shot while strafing or jump-shooting.

This ability is useful in that while being an offensive ability, it's usable while under the effects of Deterrence.

Can and should be taken advantage of in both PvE and PvP situations.

Okay im getting some serious glitches with it...It keeps saying "You can't do that while stunned." everytime i try to use it and Niether myself nor my pet are stunned or fighting enemies capable of stunning.

just an FYI. if your pet can one shot a mob with kill command you wont be able to loot it. (found out while leveling skinning)

I need your help to verify a theory on the current bug of Kill Command

Today i was fighting scorpids in tanaris and i started to recive the usual
'can't do that while stunned' reply. What i noticed however was that it was linked
to a specific type of enemy. Namely the Duneclaw Lasher.

A quick search showed me that the lasher uses... Lash
More research proved that the other times i could not use Kill Command
was when fighting enemies with this ability.

What i need you all to do is to verify if you to have problems with these enemies,
as well as other enemies with similar abilities.

After a little more detailed research i found out that the spells duration is 2 minutes !
That is on the the knockdown part. The disarm part is only 5 seconds.
This might be what is "blocking" the use of Kill Command.
Question is if this is "working as intended" or if it is a oversight ?

For now, i will avoid enemies with Lash or similar abilities.

I was wondering about the formula to calculate the damage output of Kill Command...

(849 + (RAP * 0.516))*1

This does not match the values which my spellbook gives in my current setting. Also, the formula is a bit wonky, because you're multiplying the values within the parentheses with a 1 ... which is redundant in my opinion.

EG1: Wowhead formula: (849 + (12942 * 0.516) ) = 7527 (rounding off)

In-game paper doll: 12942 RAP (w/o AoTH, no other buffs)

EG2: Wowhead formula: (849 + (15542 * 0.516) ) = 8869 (rounding off)

I hope hunters appreciate the pvp utility of this spell. It should be used: 1.) against pillar huggers LoS'ing you, and 2.) when you're the pillar hugger trying to survive, but you still want to deal damage to your opponent.

I feel this is one of the more neglected spells in pvp that would've saved your butt countless times had you thought to use it.

Prowl increases Kill Command damage, and it's possible to have it hit exactly at the same time as Claw as your cat/spirit beast un-Prowls. Meaning KC & Claw can both benefit from the 20% damage increase. I've posted my results on the Prowl comments.

Pet Charge does not increase Kill Command damage though.

Edit: Why the downvote? Prowl still increases KC damage.

An issue with this spell seems to come and go, where you can't use this spell without having a hostile target on, despite it using the pet's current target as the target for it.

A way to avoid this preventing you from using it, is making the Kill Command spell into a macro:

Enter arena stealthed, issue the Kill Command and you keep the stealth, only the pet will get out.
Same for Intimidation (!), Freezing Trap, Explosive trap (only with the Glyph of Explosive trap), and the not-damaging pet abilities, like Spirit Mend.
Experiment and have fun :)

-Although you "give the command" as it were, the damage is credited to your pet so if you are fighting multiple enemies while soloing make sure to directly attack the one your pet is tanking as Kill Command won't earmark the target as your kill, meaning you will not be able to loot it.
-If cast while your pet is not withing the 25yd range of your target it orders your pet to attack. Once within range however, your pet will not automatically follow the Kill Command and it will have to be recast.
-Kill Command directs your pet to your target, it does not order it to attack it's own target, if you meant to start attacking a new target and left your pet to finish off an almost dead one.
-The Hunter's Mark effect is applied with your pet's attack, so if for whatever reason your pet can't get within range of the target the mark won't be put up either.

Kill Command does really low damage compared to Arcane Shot until you reach MoPandaria levels.

A couple of problems KC encounters during leveling:

1. It costs 40 focus compared to Arcane Shot's 30 focus.

2. It does very similar damage compared to Arcane Shot, but much lower if the target is actually heavily armored.

3. Arcane Shot can make great use of the Thrill of the Hunt talent due to massive cost reduction, thus even greater damage/cost ratio is achieved.

4. You can fire AS at any target within 40 yards, while the KCommand requires your pet to be within 25 yards of the target, and it can not hit specific targets like flying... and on some fights your pet's AI is just awful.

KCommand is great at max level, but during leveling Arcane Shot tends to greatly outperform KC - especially if you take the Thrill of the Hunt talent.

This is BM Hunter's #1 skill. You should always prioritize this in your rotation.

Yesterday I was questing in north of Elemental Throne in Nagrand and my bow broke after several wipes in dungeons earlier. What did I do? USE MY FISTS and this skill. I felt like a drunk dwarf riding a bear into battle.
Successfully completed all the quests and then repaired my bow. It felt quite useless.

they finally changed the sound effect on this spell to be more subtle. it used to make an indescribably violent sound every time you used it, which was normally every 4-6 secs. the best way to describe it is it sounded like your pet was using their bones as mouthwash.

I haven't seen this noted anywhere except in a Battle.net bug report:

If you're grinding rep through kills (like, say, Thrallmar through Hellfire dungeons), it's important to note that you get no reputation if your pet does all the damage. Notably, That includes using the Kill Command skill! Important to note when doing old content where every skill is overkill!

If you're farming rep through kills, Do not use Kill Command!
