This spell, in the current form, allows you to target a spot on the ground similar to hurricane. After you select the spot on the ground, a spectacular whirlwind spell graphic covers the area and anything standing in that area is slowed. The slow effect is a lot like the one that death knights cause when they create the defiled ground with their necrotic strikes.

Hostile units that LEAVE the area are sucked to the center once. If they enter the area or if they stand in the area the whole time no sucking occurs. Also, Since you need to target a spot on the ground you can't use this to suck people off the edge at lumber mill or eye of the storm, though you could effectively wall off the enemy's side of the flag bridge in eye of the storm.

This spell is best used to prevent passage through a choke point. If it is cast on a choke point then it is basically a solid wall for the full duration. An enemy would need to walk in on one side of the slowing effect, move while slowed through the whole area, exit the area, get sucked BACK in, then go halfway through the slowed area again.

Currently is bugged and does NOT work against enemies in duels.

Works great against Skyfall Star mobs in Vortex Pinnacle dungeon. Keeps them all together giving time to aoe nuke them before they spread out.

If you see this cast in your way (assuming it is impossible to avoid, e.g. EoS bridge), just step inside, tun back, step outside (so you get sucked into the middle) and THEN go to the other side. This way, you will only have to go through half the vortex + 2 steps, instead of full length + half

This is one of the three Tier 5 Talent for Druids, along with Incapacitating Roar and Mighty Bash.

From my experiences, Incapacitating Roar seems slightly better than either Ursol's Vortex and Mighty Bash due to the lower cool down and situationality (is that a word?) of Vortex.

Ursol's Vortex seems more appropriate for pvp, or at least fairly limited pve use. Maybe a boomkin / healer would get more mileage out of Ursol's Vortex than a melee cat or bear (I do not play caster druids, so can only guess).

My bear tank loves Disorienting Roar, for obvious reasons, and my kitty seems to like Mighty Bash, but also doesn't mind the Roar. I really did not like Vortex (though the graphic is pretty cool, and it's fun to "play with"). As always, your mileage may vary.
