Undead Heritage Armor Questline in Patch 10.1.7 (Story Spoilers)

With Patch 10.1.7, the Undead Heritage Armor questline is now available to play for Undead players. We played through the questline and bring all the details you might have missed on your playthrough!
To start this questline, you must have a lv50 Undead character who is Exalted with Undercity.
WARNING: Story spoilers in this post!
The Undead Heritage questline starts at the Ruins of Lordaeron with Lilian Voss - When first logging on your undead, you will receive the quest
Unliving Summons
. We're sent to talk to Deathstalker Commander Belmont, who tells us there is still a faction willing to attempt to challenge the Forsaken's hold on Lordaeron - The Scarlet Crusade. When talking to Belmont, a cutscene will play, showing the Forsaken attacking the scarlets.
You can also talk to Belmont to ask him about how are they still active.
Wasn't the Scarlet Crusade already defeated?
Many times. In the Plaguelands, in Northrend. Some of them gave up and joined less fanatical orders, but it seems like there's always some old leader or new opportunist willing to take up the accursed banner.
There's people in the world with good reason to hate the Forsaken. But the Scarlet Crusade isn't here for that. We are the living dead, and they think we are just abominations meant to be destroyed.
For some, that's all they need for killer hatred.
We're then sent to the Sepulcher in
To the Sepulcher
to meet up with Velonara and Faranell. In the Sepulcher, we learn the Scarlet Crusade has taken over Fenris Isle and is using it as a base of operations for their takeover. We're asked to collect slanderous propaganda around the Sepulcher in
Acid Beats Paper
, collect plagued flesh from Silverpine wildlife in
Nothing Like the Classic
and collect plants in
Boom Weed
.
After we collect materials, Calia and Lilian join us at the Sepulcher. Calia asks us to obtain a Scarlet costume in
A Proper Disguise
and Lilian asks to frighten and slay scarlets in
Fear is our Weapon
. You can also ask Lilian about her feelings on the Scarlet Crusade, as she was one of them in life.
How do you feel about the Scarlet Crusade being back?
It's both complicated and simple.
In life, I was one of them. I believed what they believed.
In death, I turned into the thing that they hated. That I hated. That I was taught to hate. It's taken a long time for me to see that blindly hating anything, living or undead, isn't the answer. What matters is what they do.
The Forsaken are my family, and I'm going to protect them like my family.
With some recruits defeated, a disguise in hand, and some new plague on our backs, we're sent to Fenris Isle in
The Scarlet Spy
. Once we arrive in Fenris Isle, we meet with a quartermaster, who requires us to meet with the Scarlet commander, but not before we cause some issues by eliminating archmages and planting explosive plague barrels in
Among Us
. As we place barrels, the Scarlet Commander addresses the Crusade.
Scarlet Commander Forsythe: Soldiers of the Scarlet Crusade, we stand at the threshold of a new Lordaeron, poised to liberate it from the cold grasp of the undead.
Scarlet Commander Forsythe: Too long have those monsters polluted the hallowed lands of our people. No more. Today, we will reclaim what is ours and purge the stain of the unliving from the world.
Scarlet Commander Forsythe: Ready yourselves. This is the hour where you will be tested. Only you stand between the darkness of death and the light of the living!
We then reunite with Velonara and call in the Forsaken banshees in
The Flight of the Banshee
. Talking to Velonara triggers a cutscene showing the Forsaken arriving at Fenris Isle. After this, we're then asked to kill everything living in
Death to the Living
. For a small fun bit, try to cannibalize scarlets during this quest!
We're then finally asked to infiltrate Fenris Isle and kill Scarlet Commander Forsythe in
This is the Hour of the Forsaken
.
Lilian: Their commander is here. Let's show him why he should have run.
Forsythe: Lilian Voss... Your father would despise you for what you've become.
Lilian: Keep talking. You'll run out of breath quicker.

The Scarlet Crusade is defeated once more, and Fenris Isle is taken back. We're sent back to the Ruins of Lordaeron in

, and we receive Forsaken accolades in

.
Lilian: You not only helped us reclaim our home after the plague, but you defended it when it was under threat.
Lilian: You represent what it means to be Forsaken. To take care of our own, with our unique ingredients.
Belmont: Our strength.
Velonara: Our determination.
Faranell: Our cunning.
Calia: Our hope.
Lilian: And together, we will endure. As the Forsaken.
Congratulations on earning the Undead Heritage Armor! You will obtain the full set of armor plus the two new Undead tabards:
