It sounds like you've played WoW before. Why do you think you need a guide? With wowhead and the official wow forums and web-site, and mmo-champion, there's so much free information about, why would you need to buy some?

I don't know anything about the Zygor Guides (first I'm hearing of them), but I have found the guides from Noxxic and Icy-Veins quite helpful. The Elitist Jerks site is also good - but incredibly in-depth and goes into much finer detail that I need to enjoy the game :-)

I used Zygor for some time. All i can tell you is that nowdays its not necessary, the questing is not that hard anymore and leveling is way more simpler than before. Get some good quest helper addon and just play.

Don't; it's a waste of time, and you can get all of the information for free on other sites.

Never pay money for a guide. That's just silly.

If you must have a guide for questing etc, then try the FREE Carbonite add on.
It's available from Curse.
I don't recall any point in my time playing WoW where information wasn't freely available. Throtbot, Wowhead and Add-ons

Playing completely without a guide, I was able to solo level my Nelf Priest from 1 to 90 in 6 days. It's not that hard especially after they streamlined all the old quests.

I think a good rule of thumb is that any guide or tutorial you have to pay for is going to be a ripoff. The internet is full of resources that can help you learn any class, any spec, any fight strategy, etc. They tell you where to get your gear and how to gem/enchant/reforge it. They tell you the easiest way to level any profession, where to get all the recipes and mats, and what is worth making. There are sites and threads that will tell you how to make plenty of gold, how to complete achievements, help you collect all the pets and mounts you want, etc. And it's all provided free on both official and fan sites. And on forums like wowhead, you can also get advice and have specific questions answered by other players, also for free. There is nothing you could get from a paid guide or tutorial that is better than what is already published for free.
Paid guides and such are aimed at new players, who don't know what resources are available to them, and who don't know any better. If you know enough to find your way here, you know enough to not get suckered in by Zygor and other paid guides.

The bigger issue for me would be giving anyone making an unofficial product, and also advertising how to make tons of gold in the game my personal details, above all my credit card details.

Hence Paypal, Google Checkout, Amazon Payments, etc etc. Personal information, especially banking information, is a lot easier to keep limited to a few parties than it used to be. If my stuff ever gets stolen, I know it's one of the 3 above. Rather than the countless games/sites/etc I used to have to pay for via direct CC info.
Carbonite was awesome a few years back, haven't used it in a long time tho. But I recommend it if it's been updated recently. I also recommend just using wowhead for anything that isn't blantantly obvious in the WoW Quest Journal. The arrows (and especially 'areas') markers they added during Cata make questing without an addon or guide a lot easier.

I would try LightHeaded:
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7017-LightHeaded.html
. This integrates into the standard quest log and pulls in comments from wowhead.com right into the quest itself.
I think Carbonite is dead.

This, questing is beyond simple now.
This.
And all non questing things, like the auction house and dungeons, etc, are very well explained both in game and on free sites like this.

Carbonite is very much alive.
It is no longer supported by the original developer, but was handed over to several members of the community.
It has been maintained and updated all throughout MoP and as far as I am aware bang up to date.
(and IMO never been better.)
I use it mainly for mining, herbing and rare farming routes with Tom Tom.

I've used the trial Zygor guides and can honestly say that it is not worth paying for. I suggest Wow-Pro and the TomTom addons.
Honestly everything that is written on the Wow-Pro guides is or at least was written the same way on Zygor's guide. I noticed a misspelled word on one that was misspelled on the opposite guide.

It is indeed up to date and I use it all the time. I use it for questing. So much better than the Blizz quest interface. Also, the Warehouse feature is cool too.
