This is by far not fixed, I can get them to run over to the desk, then after a few seconds no matter what is done, they walk off! And on top of that there is no exit button, you have to logout COMPLETELY to get out of the desk.

Press ability 2 on goblins
If they don't run to the desk you need to press ability 3 on them, you don't have much time to react before the run far away.

The only way i found to make this quest counts was:

use button 2 and when they become hostiles and try to run, quickly bomb them before they escape.

Its not bugged as of 23/08/24 - you have to hit the Arriving Prospector with Call over (first action button at table) and if they turn hostile hit them with Call Airstrike (second action button at table). Took a few mins to work out then completed quest pretty simply. Hope this helps?

It looks like some might be having trouble with this quest.

To be able to complete the quest you will need to use your "Number 2" ability "Call Over" and if they run of to the desk that goblin is okay.

If you use your "Number 2" ability "Call Over" and they run away. You will need to use the "Number 3" agility "Call Airstrike" as quickly as you can to blow them up.

This should give you the credit you need to complete the quest.

I found it easier to just always drop 3 on people and then cast 2 before the bomb falls to get the quest to complete.

Let them pass you then use your spell to find the right goblin. They will run back and you will have time to blow them up.

Call in the airstrike over the goblin BEFORE you call them over, you'll get them every time.

The best way to do this quest is to press 2 on a goblin and then immediately press 3 on them after, regardless of whether their good or not. They move very quickly when they run away and means it can be hard to hit them given the bomb takes a second to strike their location. Also make sure their past the rubble before the flight master on the left, if their too far from you they won't count towards the quest.

This quest is also currently bugged, in that when you try to leave you will be TPed to the desk until you turn the quest in, so make sure to turn it in before you move on!

CHEESE STRAT: target ability 2 on a goblin immediately followed by ability 3. if they are a 'good guy' (have papers) they are not hit - no harm, no foul. If they are a 'troublemaker' you are hitting them BEFORE they have a chance to run for it so the hit is guaranteed.

3 has a travel time, 2 doesn't

3 over goblin, immediately hit them with 2.

As of 8/24 you can just use ability 3. If someone doesnt have papers they will still be friendly and you can just hit them repeatedly.

one of the lines the trouble makers say when you catch them is "I reject your reality and substitute my own" likely a referance to Mythbusters TV show where thats one of Adam's well know lines

My issue isn't having trouble striking the troublemakers, it's that 1 out of every 5 was a troublemaker.

Who in their right mind sits in on Blizz's WoW Dev team meeting with a quest like this and doesn't speak up with....

"Hey, don't you think people are going to get really irritated about a 20% success rate on a locked action bar item with a 5 second cooldown and gated by the number of "employees" walking down the path, then you can potentially miss them if you don't act quick enough when by some miracle it IS a troublemaker?"

The steps to do the quest:
1) call the prospector
2) hit him in the head if he runs away from you

If you keep getting ported back to the desk if you try to fly or walk away - make sure you actually TURN IN the completed quest behind you which will allow you to leave the area.

You can get really unlucky with this quest and get like 20 goblins with papers before you get the ones without that you need for the quest completion.

1) Use Ability 2 on the goblins walking by your stand to check their papers.

2) If their name turns orange, they're one of the troublemakers. They'll run very quickly. So the very moment a goblin's name turns orange, use Ability 3 on them ASAP.

I can't stress it enough, you have to be quick.

This quest was bugged for me, and heavily I might say. Even when I left it, I was transferred back whenever I was in the neighbourhood or disconnected. Couldn't do anything else there.
Only after abandoning the quest (without retaking it as it never left my quest log) it worked as intended.

This Xpax seens to have more stupid quests than previous ones.

Could it be done differently and more relevant? Yes

Anyhow, better to wait they be near so in case when they run away u can predict their running pattern and nuke them in advance

It was fun until I had dealt with 5 out of 6 troublemakers, but then the next 20 Goblins just had to be model employees.

This is the least fun "Papers, please" homage in WoW, so far.

Feedback - with a quest titled like this and that we are "bound" to the table with abilities, I would expect actually doing something with papers on that table.
What NPCs are doing and their messages were confusing; combine that with cooldowns on abilities - I've exited the table a couple of times to make sure nothing was bugged, only to realize later that they are not supposed to actually put any docs on that table and no ability is missing from my UI.

For players who are struggling - you are supposed to target spawning NPCs with the left-most ability and see their reaction.
When NPC reacts in a certain way, you must target it with the right-most ability.

Just to be clear because after reading these comments I still thought the quest was bugged for me. You only get credit for bombing BAD goblins, not the ones that run to your desk for papers and the best way to do this is to start your 3. Bomb and before it goes off hit 2 ability on the goblin. If you bomb a bad goblin you get credit.

(1) Use button 2 on goblins passing by
(2) Goblins that run to you/stall = leave them be
(3) Goblins that run away = bomb em (they normally say something that call you out)

Quest is slow, boring and buggy. It doesn't start a quest chain. Ignore recommended.

Goblins spawn rate is very low. Goblins spawn very far away so you have to wait for them to /walk to you.

And you will get disconnected from server if you walk too far away from the desk while you have the quest in your log. Its just like a real job!

Quest is not as bad as it seems. you gotta use ability 2 to call someone to the desk. If they turn out to be trouble maker you use ability 3 on them to bomb them and you get credit. What I did was just use 2 on a goblin passing by and immediatly 3 afterwards (before even finding out if they are a troublemaker or not).

I found a very easy way to do it: just move the camera. It seems stuck at first but you can actually move it and get a very wide vision, more than enough to see the goblins spawning. You can snipe them very easily this way!

Description

Hey pal, what's it gonna take to get you to leave me alone? How about a trip? A POWER trip... I told Boss Sparkshot that I would man the worksite's...er, resort's! Yeah, that I would man the resort's front desk for a bit. Care to take my place? It's just your usual paper-pushing busy work. Check credentials, keep an eye out for corporate sabotage, call in the occasional air strike, etcetera, etcetera... <Garv has already fallen back asleep.>
