If this quest is showing up on your map but Myrrit isn’t offering it. You need to complete Expedition Effervesta first picked up from Aurantia located West of the flight path.

That familiar feeling of growing apart from childhood and teenage friends: everyone agrees that they want to meet up and do things again, but none of you have the time.

It's not that you are losing them, but as an adult you can't just 'go on digs' whenever you want to, because suddenly you have responsibilities. Even if you live alone in your own home, there's no one to keep it intact, except yourself.
It's why nostalgia is such a powerful thing; it's not that things were better back then - it's that they were simpler.

That was a sad ending to this quest. I hope there will be more quests added soon. :(

Ok after lots of running around, I found out you HAVE to do Buddy System FIRST before this quest appears.

You go on the dig with him, use the sniff ability at the chest and find the key. Then use burrow to go up past the green gas to the portal plate looking thing and LEAVE him there. You must leave him there! Then drop down, open the chest and go back to the bowl thing and recall Niffen then hit escape ability to finish.

For those wondering there is in fact another quest.
The Heavy Crown
If it does not show up for you, you can try reloading, but it seems to be renown based.
I am currently at renown 6.
I reloaded on the off chance right before going on a dig with him and it popped up.

Myrrit does not have the Best Friends quest for me and I've completed all quests leading up to this. renown is 7. He has some other quest. I cannot move forward in the campaign and I'm very frustrated. Blizz support has been no help and even after doing the reset and all, nothing has changed. What do I do?

Description

Really, I have fun digging with you. I do! Please, don't take this badly, but... I miss my best friend. I don't blame her for being busy. She was kidnapped, and she is the princess! I know she doesn't have lots of time. I just wish... ...I don't know. Maybe I wish things were the way they used to be, when she wanted to dig with me.
