If you can believe the tooltip's this only works for Protectors Custodial Protector and Watchers Tyrhold Watcher.

It also seems to work on Malfunctioning Protector, though I had to try multiple times.

You have to use Irideus' Power Core on them and kill it for it to advance the progress bar (you actually don't need to kill it, but it attacks you so I see no other choice). Once you do that they become easier to solo.

Evidentially more than one person can use it on a mob at a time, but once you start killing it it's not longer doable. So multiple people could tap it, but no one seems to get it....

Be sure to check inside Tyrhold for more of these mobs.

Right-click Maidens in Tyrhold, and you'll get 20% progress per Maiden. Roughly 1-minute respawn timer. By the fourth, I was at 78% progress.

If you go to the lower layers (near the halls of infusion), you can use the Irideus' Power core on the Malfunctioning Protector to get %.

On the south platform, a quest mob, the Maiden of Patience, spawns faster than just about any other mob you need for this -- and you can zap her over and over. I basically just stood there and waited for her to respawn every minute or so until done.

I had good luck completing this quest with the fast respawning Maiden of Diligence at /way 57.8, 53.5

As a Night Elf rogue, I was able to use the item on the Malfunctioning Protectors, double vanish/meld (they have true sight so probably have to be far enough away) and use the item multiple times on one mob to get it up to 80%.

Currently having issues with this quest not displaying a progress bar, similar to Power Procurement when first introduced. So far none of the fixes for that one have worked here.

There is no reason to kill the mobs for this quest. Channel the quest item on the mob, run away and let it reset, use the quest item again, repeat six times.

Vanish/Feign Death/Shadowmeld (NE)/running away and resetting ALL work to reset the elite mobs so you can attune the same mob until it's full, so you don't have to fly around looking for more.

Don't kill the maidens. Use the item then let them reset and you don't have to wait for respawns.

As a hunter you can right click the same maiden multiple times by feigning death and resetting then for the last bit kill. If you need a little time for the feign death to reset throw and ice trap or turtle. Used the same maiden (patience) for it, total time less than 10 minutes.

One of the worst, but unfortunately typical, gate quests.

You go there and kill elite mobs. Before you kill them, you have to click the crystal quest item thing to tag them. The trouble is there are 100 peeps doing it. If you do not crystal thing before they tag, no kill. It took me 3 hours. My best bet is to avoid the other players and constantly circle lower levels. Also, if you log, the counter resets to zero. Also, the elites in a pat do not give credit. Another time sink that stinks. Clap Clap designers.

1. Learning Ingenuity - Go to see Greyzik Cobblefinger /way #2112 84.13 54.21
2. Jump-Start? Jump-Starting! - Jump on Goblin Gyrocopter after few sec use skill 1 to shut to the device/panel on ground until 100%. When get to 100% use skill 1 to get out from Goblin Gyrocopter. then press on panel. After finish this quest You will cover In Tyr's Footsteps Lock and Shock.
3. In Tyr's Footsteps - Fly to 67.24 30.68 to see Statue.
4. First Challenge of Tyr: Finesse - You will be throw very high and now you need to Fly through rings, use extra bar to go up. After finish this You will cover First Challenge: Finesse from In Tyr's Footsteps.
5. The Sweet Taste of Victory - Fly back to Maiden of Inspiration /way #2112 84.01 53.45
6. Fueling the Engine - Wait few sec and use extra bar.
7. Crafting Orders - See Head Clerk Mimzy Sprazzlerock 34.36 63.11

9. Second Challenge of Tyr: Might - Speak with Maiden of Inspiration and defeat all waves of mobs. After finish this You will cover Second Challenge: Might from In Tyr's Footsteps.
10. Well-Earned Victory - Return to Maiden of Inspiration in Valdrakken ( use portal :D I mist it xD and i go on foot xD don't be blind like me xD ).

11. In Tyr's Footsteps: The Waking Shores - Fly to /way The Waking Shores 63.79 40.50 cave, to see Statue is inside cave.
12. Third Challenge of Tyr: Persistence - When You accept quest Maiden of Inspiration will show up. W8 few sec to speak with her then watch projection after that You need to collect 3 items:
- Broken Part: Arm - Pick Up /way 64.47 34.26
- Broken Part: Head - Pick up /way 66.33 34.88 inside bulding
- Broken Part: Shattered Orb - Drop from Qalashi Marauder /way 65.69 32.64 He have low Hp and a lot of people want to kill him.
After finish this You will cover Third Challenge: Persistence from In Tyr's Footsteps.
13. Victorious - Return to Maiden of Inspiration in Valdrakken wait for portal :P ( this time I use portal :D ).

Quests releaset at 11.01.2023:

14. Fourth Challenge of Tyr: Resourcefulness - You need to do Dungeon Halls of Infusion and do 2 thinks:
- Slay Watcher Irideus and loot Irideus' Power Core
- Slay Last boss Primal Tsunami
I use Dungeon Finder Normal/HC and after 2 min i get to HC, all was working fine for me. Did not try on Mythis/Normal.

Quests releaset at 25.01.2023:

15. Fifth Challenge of Tyr: Ingenuity - Fly to Tyrhold Reservoir and use on Elite mobs Irideus' Power Core until 100%, one Elite is giving 19-20% then You need to do 5-6 mobs. Is 2 problems on that Quest:
- Only 1 player can use Irideus' Power Core on mob ;/ only one player will get %.
- Not all rare are for this Quest, I focus on Maiden of Patience, Maiden of Diligence, Tyrhold Watcher, Custodial Protector and Malfunctioning Protector

16. Innovating the Engine - You need to move very close to Panel to get extra bar, use it that will finish Quest and You will get reward Essence Detector.

This Quest is finishing Achievement In Tyr's Footsteps

From full Storyline You will get 5 Bottled Essence Use them on Panel to get 5 Spark of Ingenuity for Your crafting, after finishing storyline Yo uwill learn Essence Detector and You will be able to get Bottled Essence not only from Quests.

If you are like me and stuck at 100% and not sure why it isn't completing.. leave your raid group, then mount and dismount again.

For all those who think it's bugged, no it's not just stop using dragon riding mount after you channel.
dragon riding cancel your progress bar.

You have to right click the maidens while they are still big right after the spawn.
They will get small by that and be rendered an "invalid target" for anyone who arrives later.
So zipping from one spawn point to the other is not really helpful, better just camp e.g. Maiden of Patience at

Respawn really isn't that bad, maybe a minute max.

I used the Maiden of Patience at 58.11 63.73, you can just pull it, use your item, reset the aggro by running up the stairs and repeat as many times as you need. Don't need to wait for any respawns.

Edit: also spam clicking the item seems to cancel it

Fastest way to do this:

Use item on Maiden of Patience @ 57 63 then jump off the side into the water, fly up again. Repeat a few times.

Quest done in 30 seconds. No need to kill anything.

if you use crystal on the mob, let it channel, then move away so mob resets, ya can use it again, don't need to kill it!

Here's the best way I have found to complete this on several characters:

The debuff that stops you from channeling on the same mob resets once you get out of combat, so channel the item fully on them, and either run out of their aggro range to reset them or use invis/feign death/die to reset combat. The debuff will be gone and you can use the item on them each time you repeat this process (As long as someone doesn't come along and snipe them of course)

My spot /way 59.32, 53.60

on a malfunctioning robot. I would channel it, then run up the stairs until they reset, then ran back and did it again. Sometimes dying and flying back to your body is a fast way to reset it as well. Good luck!

Found a good spot approx 58, 53 Maiden respawns every few mins, just hit her with the power core while she's walking in to the area before combat, then she shrinks and you can kill her on your own.

Activision Blizzard is worth $60 Billion and they cant hire someone to proofread quest dialogue.

Maybe I am a little slow but hope this helps someone. I couldnt figure out why my meter kept resetting each time but finally realized that every time I mounted it would reset. Just ran around and used the qst item on a few and killed them and boom done.

If you're wondering why you cant complete the quest. Dont mount up on your dragonriding mount and fly around. It will reset your progress bar.

Just a heads up, getting on my dragon removed the charges I'd already collected. Took me about 10 kills to realize it was resetting every time I got on my dragon. If you're having the same problem, just run around and finish the quest without getting on your mount.

There's a bug, if you at any point use Dragonriding, it'll reset the progress. Was stuck at 35% for 20+ kills until I just did 3 in a row without mounting.

Easy enough , I went to the bottom of the stairs cleared out any of the other mobs, so they don't get in the way at the bottom and at the top of the stairs, then you Hit the Maiden with the Power Core she shrinks you run up the stairs till she disengages then, follow her back down she resets you hit her again rinse and repeat till complete.

My evoker could just tag the Maiden, then jump off the platform, wait a few seconds, Soar back up and tag her again. No need to get into a fight, and it only took 3 turns.

As a rogue, I zapped the Maiden once, got me to 68%, vanish and after the aura fades around her, zap her again to 100%. No kill needed.

I can't see where anyone mentioned it but there's a TON of 70 mobs in groups on the platform along with and warning bots to alert them to your presence and all that will get you killed VERY fast if you don't take them into account (67 warrior here). So when people say they 'ran away from Maiden of Patience' I have no clue where they might have gone as the mobs are everywhere. It took 20 minutes least (with lots of dying) to complete this quest.

...Whether this "idea" is ingenious or just lame:

You might also just stand at e.g. a southwestern edge (or anywhere you could jump down and land in water masses)

Not too certain whether you would even save time doing it this way,
but the principal would be that you can use the item on one of the mechanical constructs/golems whatever they are
run off and jump into the water (just make sure you won't land near fish(es) so that you might afterwards go sleep with them)

meanwhile even that "debuff timer" will reset on the mob, and you can repeat it on the same one.

It seems this has been patched, so after 3-4 times you might be done.

I remember times just ignorantly running from those I channelled from in travel form, mass rooted enemies once it became too risky,
and tried to out run them so that I did all this in one go but still didn't have to fight even once.

(((things like these remind me of Pandaria scenarios, and if you weren't lucky you had that one player on your group who wants to fight,
not do objectives and be done with it, saving time, staying efficient!

...which then again brings me to strange behaviour on some players: why do they attack elite mobs with e.g. 200k health if only QUANTITY counts, to prove something to themselves? to show off? what if.. e.g. drop rates staid the same(whether elite mob or not)? So instead of trying to solve a WQ by pulling a lot of little ones, they go on a heroic, epic task - at least that's not how you solve "quantity" in doing it more than once, or when not trying to spend too much time on it after all!

Almost as strange and weird as those players who "don't join your targets" - as if their pride forbid them, saying "I can do it on my own"

.. well, that's not how MMOs used to work, as a matter of fact it was rather antisocial when other players tapped your target on purpose although they didn't need that any more (gladly those times are over! except for some cross realm or raid group issues :( ) - and I'm not even referring to players from the other faction (because the most faceless behaviour in that would be when cowards waited for the mob to turn to 5% health, and then try killing you, and how satisfying it would then turn out if you killed them nonetheless or even made the mob do it for you!

and so no to mention it's much easier if one player runs and does a minor damage move - maybe a player that can move fast.. pull all mobs together and there you go: group play without being on a group - it's much cooler and more relaxed than having to dmg-nuke anything you encounter to be faster than others and still it will take you longer to do content than if you just cooperated a bit. you can do "competitive" things elsewhere, trust me! )))

the EASIEST way to do this is...
fly up to a platform by the stairs where some of those big golem like things (protectors) are clomping about.
59 / 58.45
they can't get to you up there.
target and fire.
should be done inside 30 sec then head back for turn in.

You can also use Irideus' Power Core when fighting all the rare elites around Tyrhold. This combined with Tyrhold Conduit from the quest Hard Lock Life will allow you to kill the rare elites in about 10 seconds. Happy farming!

In case anyone else isn’t seeing the progress bar for this quest and you keep killing elites in Tyr Hold but are getting no notifications that your quest is complete, or even that you’re making progress, try this: if you are doing this quest at the same time as “The Magic Within” quest woth the silver scale, go back to where Watcher Koranos is standing by the console with the silver scale floating over it and click on the yellow outline of the floating scale.

The second I did that this quest was marked as completed. Hopefully this helps someone; I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure out what was going on.

Description

As this was not how the Power Core was supposed to be obtained, it requires a re-attunement to the energies of the Engine. The resonance frequencies of the denizens of Tyrhold should bring the core to its full potential once more. Though I do not wish to sacrifice more of my brethren, I believe this is the only way this challenge may be completed.
