Also, when you go on the rescue mission:

\You have to look at the mini-map and make sure you grab the closest prisoner first (yellow dot on the mini-map). I missed the first couple of prisoners because it was all dark and I was confused by the new scenario) and when I finally stumbled across someone to rescue it wouldn't let me rescue them. I clicked on them but they wouldn't come with me. it got very frustrating. It's because I hadn't clicked on the 2 prior prisoners. Once I realized my mistake and got the first two prisoners, everything worked great. Also, there's no yellow dot for the end boss, but you just keep going after you pick up the last prisoner, don't go back. Then you end up with the end boss.

I present step by step How to do weekly Quest A Unified Effort ( Night Fae Assault ). Rewards are 2 x Concentrated Anima.

Step 1:

Pick Up Quest from Highlord Bolvar Fordragon 62 24 in Korthia then Fly/go to 22 43 in The Maw ( When You will get to Maw You will start automatic Night Fae Assault ) and speak with Lord Herne.

Step 2:

Pick Up 4 Quests from:

Lord Herne
Looming Darkness - You need to get:

- 1 x Mawsworn Ritual Book - Drop from Provoked Magus and Mawsworn Soulbreaker
- 10 x Mawsworn Ritual Book - Drop from Mawsworn Regulator and Provoked Regulator
- 15 x Dark Marrow - Drop from Furious Shade and Resonant Misery

Margrave Sin'dane
A Shady Place - You need to use Unbalanced Riftstone around 21 36 then you need to do:

- Slay 8 Hungering Manifestation,
- Freed 4 Riftbound Vorkai.

Small Guaid for Jailer's Personal Stash Cryteria of On the Offensive. You can do this achievement only when is up Night Fae Assault with quest A Shady Place 22 43.

To do This achievement You will need to use item from quest Unbalanced Riftstone to get to rift ( 10 min buff ) then You will be able to see on map treasures, You need to open 10.

Problem is that you can open maximum 6 in a day.

You can do this in 2 ways. Pick up 5 treasures on D1 then beck next day to do last 5 then finish Quest, Or You can do it in 2 deferent Night Fae Assault.

Double Dromans - You need to:

Slay Lord Dretnal 16 50
Help Droman Aliothe to kill mobs with him until 100%

Thiernax
No Soul Left Behind - You need to at first press on Thiernax's Rescue Cradle ( Cradle will follow you ) then you need to rescue 12 Lost Druid Spirit in Gorgoa and send them back to Thiernax - To send them back press on Cradle when you have 3 Spirits, Cradle will back you You after 10-20 sec.

All Quests Return to 21 46 on bridge. after return all 4 quests will start cinematic.

Step 3:

Speak with Lady Moonberry to get in hidden mode. Then first You need use skill 2 to distract first watcher on bridge. Then You need to pass barrier after You need to rescued 4 NPC:

Lord Herne 21 50
Bonesmith Heirmir 21 53
Margrave Sin'dane 22 55
Thiernax 20 54

If watcher will find You use skill 2 on them but after 5 sec You will be moved back to bridge to start one more time, all done rescues will be save.

After rescued all move to 19 57 and slay Darkmist Ascendant Relyana. after kill Quest will finish and now you can go back to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon 62 24 in Korthia.

For the stealth part, it seems like the recovery window of the mobs is slightly longer than the cooldown of the item, so you can hit them again before they recover, which makes the whole ordeal much easier.

Have completed all objectives for the Nightfae assault. but cant get credit for 0/4 help night fae forces assault crucible of the damned. anyone have this issue ?

If the cinematic doesn't start, you have to teleport to Oribos and come back. Then it works!

I had completed all of the requirements for this (grey and ticked off) but there was nowhere to turn it in. After I killed Darkmist Ascendant Relyana and used the Cypher of Relocation to get back (annoying), then took the mount back to the Night Fae assault it was still not completed. I ended up having to travel to Korthia and back to the Maw at which point it auto-completed and I was able to go back to Korthia again and turn in A Unified Effort. Hope this helps anyone who was running around frustrated like I was.

The stealth part is horrid. No movement speed increase when it would be incredibly useful, but the true problem is the visual effect during that entire phase. It's the only time this game has ever made me nauseous, and the slow movement speed meant being stuck with feeling sick for even longer.

Things that suck about this quest:
* If you walk into "the darkness" without Lady Dingleberry the game will put you in slow walk mode and slowly kill you for no obvious reason.
* You have to free the prisoners in order from nearest to furthest. If you try to do them out of order the game will act like you're not doing anything and ignore your inputs.
* If you touch anything or a beam touches you, it's back to the start for you.
* For some reason even though Lady Dingleberry obviously provides "the blinding dust," she can't throw it. There are two of us. You can do a little more than stand there and bark orders like an arrogant troll...

The boss mob respawns after about 10 seconds so don't hang around.

One last thing: After you beat the boss, walk out and go left around the corner. There is a purple chest with 40 Stygia at 19.72, 54.63

A lot of the Looming Darkness quest can be done while doing the Dromane quest and you can combine the Lady Moonberry stomp'em quest with the quest where you have to kill Hungering Manifestations.

What a terrible quest! I had already done it on several toons so thought I knew it well. But I just had the problem that I couldn't free any of the allies I was supposed to, they just wouldn't come with me. I figured something was wrong and couldn't reset the quest or anything and just kept trying.

I finally figured out that while I distracted that first mob that you're supposed to it didn't take for some reason. I had to go back and distract it again and I finally could start freeing my allies.

Quest idea is great. Quest implementation is garbage. The first problem is that the leadup stuff is unmotivated; just the usual kill/gather a bunch of stuff. Then the rescue part is terrible because of really bad usage of fog (really easy to walk off a cliff or get in a cul de sac), and total inability to figure out where the watchers' beams actually are. Finally, as is typical these days, you have to look up the location of the last step on Wowhead rather than having a yellow dot or a reasonable path. Too bad: you coulda been a contender.

I'm with Lady Moonberry and I can't see where I'm going. I ended up falling in a hole. My hearthstone won't work and there is no way to escape or exit out of this phase. Sigh, I have raid tonight and I can't see myself making it. Is there anyway to make the visual not be so bad and pathing not be such a pain?

Edit: If this happens to anyone else, exit game and when you log back in you can hearth. In 15 years, I've never been able to see when I die or am in dark places.

FOR DISTRACTING THE EYES the number 2 "distracto" feature does in theory have to be in front of them or it doesn't work. In practice, almost under its non existent feet and a smidge to the side is pretty much perfect. ADDED: ooh, if placed well, can distract two at one time, then their beams are cross-eyed. :) ADDED MORE: the beam eyes are the "easy" (yes airquotes. its clunky) part. The overhead flyers can't be distracted by number 2 but they can be blinded by number 3.

FOR BLINDING THE CAPTURE OF YOURSELF try to only get caught by one foe, even though the cooldown is short it does only zap one watcher at a time.

IF YOU GET HIT BY TWO for long enough, you get sent back to where you first spoke with Lady Moonberry. BUT YOU CAN get hit by two, blind one, and get free. So - don't get hit by three.

Jaina could learn a thing or two from Moonberry's hiding spells.

Note: If you clip-walk close to the "river of souls" side of the cliff the dark fades which is a relief for a few moments at least.

The last requirement for this assault is not easy and requires persistence. I get sent back to Lady Moonberry at least 5 times before I can find all the rescues. It's frustrating and takes too much time. Night Fae assault overall takes too much time for the rewards. After doing this twice, will not do again.

The end of this is the most awful thing. Totally not ful and completely annoying. If I wanted to play metal gear solid, I'd play metal gear solid. Or I'd play a rogue. Screw sneak quests.

Lots of unfavourable opinions towards the rather small stealthy bit at the end of this. Overall it would be better if it was "easier" or something to use the illusion effect on the flying mawsworn watcher mobs. I just completed the assault on an alt and for 1 portion of it I just stood there in a safe place spamming the illusion effect all around the perceivable area underneath a watcher. It never worked, it just flew back and forth on its path completely unhindered.

If there was a reliable way to make the given ability work on ALL relevant mobs it would be so much better

The ending part of this is one of the most God-awful quests I've had the displeasure of doing.

The basic mechanic is, at least to me, annoying enough. But it's all to easy to get OUT OF BOUNDS and accidentally aggro something. If you happen to get back IN bounds, you pretty much have to remove your buff (what allows the quest to be possible) to FIGHT the mob as it WILL NOT LEAVE YOU ALONE even if you get back into the quest area. OH and of course, you move VERY SLOWLY throughout the time. And unless you are very close to your objective, it won't even show up on the map (and just pick something else you were working on as the target).

Because of the low visibility, it's not hard to get stuck in an area that you CANNOT get out of or end up falling to your death (and losing Stygia, of course, which makes a quest that is VERY annoying even more so).

Rather than make sure you get the objectives, they ALLOW YOU TO GO ON, even when you missed an objective and then get totally lost as you get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DONE. Maybe just me, but I find nothing enjoyable about this, and rather than a challenge, it's a series of one frustration after another.

They probably didn't QA test this, or their testers were so tired, demoralized and probably understaffed to test it properly. (And yes, very low morale can and often do affect the quality of work).

Ok, I just completed this (8/26/21) and some of the previous comments helped but there is some other info too. Distracting the first watcher on the bridge is key to getting it to activate. I sneaked past the first time and got to the first prisoner and was able to use the key or just clicked on the NPC to get the activation bar. However, he did nothing, just stayed there and the activation feature was still showing. After going back out and distracting the bridge watcher everything else was fine. I did get punted back to the bridge after releasing 2 NPCs but thankfully they were with me once I reentered so only had to get the other 2. Another key point is that after getting all 4 do NOT go back the way you came, even though that appears to be the location on the map. Instead go up the slope on the opposite side where one of the prisoners was. Then walk through the mist wall and the 4 will appear and you will be able to then fight Relyana.

This quest is a prime example of game designers not knowing the distinction between difficult and obtuse.

Difficult quests are fun and enjoyable. WoW's designers think the more blindly obtuse and frustratingly obscure things are makes for good game play.

It does not.

I was stuck at 3/4 with no indication of how to move forward. Then I realized I had Snail Stomping in my log. Completed that near the bridge and the cinematic started when I talked to the NPC with a ? over his head (Lord Herne).

Margrave Sin'dane didn't appear for me the first time. Had to get caught and start again. Afterwards they appeared at 23,53.
Thankfully other progress was saved.
