As of alpha build 34278, if you accept this quest while mounted then you are unable to interact with the Ripened Dredger. If that happens to you while testing in Revendreth, then simply abandon the quest, dismount, accept the quest again and you should be able to continue.

Completely impossible to interact with the dredger, nothing works, exit the game, leave the quest etc.

still bugged for me as of 11/24/20 4:00am PST, I can't start the npc.

1. Abandon quest.
2. Start quest while NOT mounted.
3. NPC Should be interactable.

You need to right click on him, otherwise it will appear to be bugged if you are just left clicking.

As a druid:
1) Start quest while not shapeshifted
2) Click on the NPC (Dredger)
3) Don't shapeshift while carrying the NPC

If you're not carrying the NPC, start this process over or the ability "Throw Dredger" in the middle of the screen will not appear when you are near the rubble pile.

This quest is buggy, here's what to do:

1. Accept quest.
2. Go down to the water and stand directly on the NPC.
3. RIGHT CLICK the NPC.
4. NPC goes on your shoulder.
5. Walk along the shore to the rubble pile.
6. Stand on the rubble pile.
7. Interact with the rubble pile.
8. From here it's a typical "trash mob wave" quest. You fight trash mobs while the dude picks at the trash.
9. Wait for the NPC and the trash pile to disappear.
10. Grab the item.
11. Turn in quest at quest giver.

It appears that you can't do this one when the World Quest is up in the same area. The dredger will just go after the infested tree (World Quest target) and not the pile of rubble. Nothing I did worked to tell the dredger that I wanted that pile of rubble, and not the infested tree. All the other dredgers were, I guess, for the World Quest and were attacking the trees.

Make sure you're grabbing a ripened dredger, not a ripened laborer. The ripened dredger is located in the water near Rendle. If you grab a ripened laborer, it will dig at the Infested Horror Saps (which is the objective of Dirty Job: Wood Work - even if you don't have that quest) not the pile of rubble.

72:73 - In the water next to the hill with three dredgers on it. make sure it says DREDGER - there's alot of laborers with the same mechanic that will make it seem like it's bugged.

- to pick it up, get close and left click - wait a milisec it will start to work and an animation kicks in where he jumps on
- get ontop of the rubble when the tree appears and toss the little guy
- kill everything'
- loot the body
- win

Weird. The quest text suggests that you're going to be taught how to create disposable dredgers, then you are to create a few and go make them do some digging. But in reality, you're not taught anything and just pick up ONE dredger who is already standing there ready to work. You even carry him in your hand for some reason when he's perfectly able to walk by himself.

I feel like they reworked this quest after the quest text was written.

I present Dirty Jobs Storyline. This Story line have 5 Quests. This Story line is a part of Sojourner of Revendreth.

Quest Name:	Start and description
1 Not My Job	Quest start from Rendle 67 68 Revendreth. You need to see him at 72 73 is He will be not there just wait.
2 It's a Dirty Job	Throw 6 Filthy Rubble into the muck pool. They are next to pool just press on them.
3 Dredger Duty	Pick up Ripened Dredger 72 73 and throw him in to Pile of Rubble 73 73 then defende Him. After He finish pick up Gem of Binding.
4 We're Gonna Need a Bigger Dredger	Be a witness the ritual.
5 Running a Muck	"Jump on Bootus ( You will have 4 skills, use 1-2 to kill mobs, 3 to move faster, 4 for heal ) now you need to do : - Slay 25 mobs - close 3 portals by killing Invading Riftkeeper. When you done 2 of the above You need to slay Charthox 75 76. That is finishing Storyline and You will learn Dredger Mucking 101."

For those having trouble completing this due to the Dredger running to work on the infested sap (tree) instead, it's because you have taken the wrong Dredger.

DO NOT TAKE "DREDGER LABOURER", instead, the one you need is the one with a different name near the quest giver, it's called Dredger Digger or something.

This quest does get a bit buggy. I logged out and it finally worked.

If you mounted after carrying the Dredger, abandon quest and retake it.

The quest was buggy for me (couldn't get the throw), so I tried abandoning and retaking it as well as logging off/on. What finally triggered the single action button was that I attacked the nearby Bonemauler Alpha which caused me to drop the dredger and when I picked him up again, the new action button appeared.

Dredger Duty

Dredge a dredger and bring it to the pile of rubble. Wait for it to dig through the pile and collect the Gem of Binding.

Description

You fixed up the muck pool so we can make some dredgers, but them devourers are gonna keep causin' trouble. We're gonna need a Gem of Binding so we can dredge up a biggun to protect the pool. I'll show you how to dredge up some disposable dredgers to work with for now. Get 'em digging in the rubble to find us a Gem of Binding, and then we'll reshape 'em all into a biggun to kick them devourers outta here!
