PSA: you can complete this quest in a Mythic+ dungeon.

I just did it in a Mythic+2 on Nagrand-EU on 8 April 2017. So if you have already cleared regular Mythic, or want to get more AP, or possibly an upgrade along the way, feel free to go for a +X version of Upper Karazhan.

The only problem I have with this is that it's nigh on impossible to find a group to PUG a Mythic of this dungeon. I'm not in a raiding guild because of my work schedule, so I'm just a casual that relies on PUG's to do dungeon and raid content. This wouldn't be so bad if it was on heroic, because I could just LFG queue for it. The content isn't that hard, but finding a group to do it is the big challenge. I wish they would drop it to LFG so we can just queue for it. Anyway, less QQ more Pew Pew, gonna keep trying until I get it :) But this just means I'll have to stick to making the boots instead.

I can't even start a mythic group in PreMade let alone find one, when I try I can only choose a heroic option, my ilevel is 892 so should be enough to start a premade mythic - any advice welcome!

Is RtK still an 8-Boss Mythic or has it been split in two, yet (esp. for this Quest)...?

Despite what it says in the Quest text, some of these 'can' be done on Heroic - anyone had any joy with these three Owl Quests in Heroic versions...?

When farming this dungeon from BfA and onwards, be aware the boss is bugged and will despawn if you kill him too quickly and will have to restart the fight again.

The simple solution is to slow your dps, and keep this in mind if you're using a dot class; bring him down to 65% then stop dps and jump into the gateway after the boss, then bring him down to 33% and jump into the gateway after the boss, and finally kill the boss. (Not sure if this also bugs the boss but in the last jump seemed like the boss would despawn if you jumped into the gateway before the boss did, so just to be sure always make sure to be the last one to jump into the gateways)

Like others, I was having trouble with the boss bugging out in the final phase despite trying all the advice herein. I submitted a ticket (22 hour wait!) while within Kara and tried to stay logged in until a friend could log on and join me (if he could join my group, his dps would be enough to burst down the boss in the second phase). Before he could get on, I was logged out due to time away. I re-entered WoW and zoned in to Medivh's library. Yup, still in GM queue. Checked back a few minutes later and a GM was trying to whisper me. He said it was a known bug and he could help me finish the quest...by switching it to complete. He did that while I watched - the quest tracker changed to the lovely gray "Ready for turn-in"!

TL;DR You'll probably have to run Upper Kara up to the final boss just to prove you are trying, but if you wipe, don't keep trying, just submit a ticket.

If you're trying to kill the boss for the quest item and it keeps de-spawning.

Try using a low level weapon, like a level 60 heirloom.

Take OFF your Heart of Azeroth. (It may be adding extra damage.)

Dismiss your pet if you have one.

And SLOWLY DPS the boss.

Tip to keep final boss from glitching: Get him down to 65%, turn off autoattack. Give it a sec while he goes through the portal, then follow. Do the same thing until 35%, then back off. If he gets below 30% before he transitions, it will glitch.

If the boss bugs and/or you kill it too fast, simply jump off the edge at Kadghar and die. When you respawn you'll be back in the game room and you can simply walk to where you pick up the quest items.

All I know is that I must have some knack for being offered quests for which I have not yet met the prerequisites.

This happens a lot to me. I spend about as much time crawling around on the real-world web figuring out why my quests aren't clicking as I do relaxing in the mythical worlds of the game.

Ruins my 'suspension of disbelief' :( Lately I wonder why I keep renewing.

I gather there are prerequisite quests, possibly way back on WotLK, that I never did that keep me from getting anywhere in Return to K. 'Attunements'? I've spent HOURS in there, three- and four-shotting anything but the elites (they take a minute, sometimes), but have yet to encounter the boss I seek, and the treasure chest he guards.

This is holding up my Leatherworking in BofA and I'm sad to say, I'm just not very smiley-face about this one. I ran through all the other sibling quests I needed (Mephistroph et al.) in twenty minutes. But the whole Broken Stair universe is missing something. I can clean it from top to bottom and not find certain Rusty Keys etc. that are essential to exploring the entire dungeon.

I'm not meaning to whine so much. But I'd love it if someone could turn me on to why I get in these dead-ends so often. I solo mostly (due to a crazy schedule where I'm never on at a predictable hour), and I may never have learned some simple rule about how to stay on a chapter-line - and not jump ahead by mistake.

Glitched 4 times on me this week ... was very careful to wait until he landed on the ship before taking the portal on my final (successful) attempt and kept the camera point at him the entire time I was flying up. Just be patient.
Also, no need to jump for reset if it bugs out ... just wait about 30 seconds and it will reset while you are standing by the door

Too bad with SL season 4 have to actually get a group for this. Lucky me that I'm farming the elemental mount anyway.

Going back to complete it in later expansions, try not to 1shot the Opera event boss, you can get softlocked and have to hearth out.

Kill Viz'aduum in the Return to Karazhan dungeon on Mythic difficulty, and retrieve and repair the Bracers of the First War.

Description

I've researched some foul creatures in my time but Viz'aduum the Watcher may top the list. I mean, he is a giant, disgusting, dangerous eyeball!

Currently he haunts Karazhan--do you know the place? In Medivh's time, much of our common knowledge was stored there. Alas, the time has passed...

I digress. Viz'aduum is in possession of armor from the First War--bracers to be specific--and they are incredibly valuable. It pains me but take them, repair them, and then we must use their wardenscale.
