Does anyone know where you get these objects from? No clues in the quest text nor does Khadgar give you anything in order to find them....

The comment by Ricje(Now deleted) isn't correct.

I just got my Glittering Necklace off of Helya in the Maw of Souls.

The items are completely random on which you get, but they do drop off of the end boss in all dungeons. Just queue for three random dungeons and then your items will be obtained.

Just to confirm:
Got my first from a specific normal i did.
Got my second from a random hc.
And got my third item from a mythic.

So just do any dungeons and you will get these items :-)

So, you don't have to complete this quest in order to complete your Mage Campaign. I actually forgot all about it until after I had already gotten my 3rd Relic Slot, my title, my 830 robes, and my new followers. And I have the relic appearance that unlocks after completing the mage class hall campaign. If all this quest gives you is gold... I think I'm gonna skip it.

PSA: These items only drop from any difficulty legion dungeon. End bosses from time-walking BC weekly do not drop items.

This quest line is not necessary to become Archmage and finish the class campaign.

The reward for the quest line is the order hall champion Arcane Destroyer.

I actually did several mythic+ runs. Got one item on the first, and nothing on all my latter runs (did about 10 runs, different dungeons too). When I did a heroic and a normal dungeon the items immediately dropped though.

Therefore I think you need to get these items from a normal, heroic and mythic dungeon: you can't get all the items on one difficulty.

Or said in another way, any last boss from any dungeon will drop the required item. So basically just queue for random dungeons of any kind 3 times and you are going places.

Does NOT have to be Heroic.

Do any 3 Random normal and you will get the 3 items at end boss or during the dungeon. As in 1 item pr run. (I think it is from last boss tho).
Does not seem to overlap so you get more of the same item. I only did 3 instances.
Works on Heroic too, but not necessary.

Reward for this is only Arcane Destroyer so I'm guessing it's not needed or part of any campaign.

Just did this on my boosted mage, Ran MoS Normal 3 tiems got 1 quest item per run.
had 100% drop rate.

While running through the a mage hall quests at 120, this was as simple as porting out to Dalaran and standing in Violet Hold x3.

Tried this in BFA - I know some of the older quests requiring dungeons runs will work... This one however, will not :(

Manually going to the dungeons in the Broken Isles still works.

Did this yesterday with a lvl 120 Mage. Soloed three runs in normal mode In Maw of Souls. Each run, the end boss drops the item you need for this quest. 15 min max.

For clarity's sake:

Doing this (or not) does not impair your progress towards the Campaign.
Reaching the right character level is needed to unlock the Broken Shore.

Not doing it fails to get you the Arcane Destroyer (champion)
and
You can only get the quest for your Mage flying mount when you have all 6 champions, plus the Broken Shore.

edit to add:
per other players below the items don't fall when Timewalking legion dungeons.
per other players LFR or Normal is sufficient
and - it's only the end boss needed, so it doesn't matter if your LFR crew were speed demons.

theory is this only drops from Dungeons, not raids, but I've not tested.

Completed this in DHT under 10minutes, after 1st boss head straight to Xavius. After the kill, speak to Malfurion to port you out, reset and repeat.

You can run one dungeon 3 times and get the quest components. Violet Hold is decently quick.

Bring Ari 3 special gifts. These gifts can be found on powerful enemies in dungeons.

Description

Ari is much more than she appears, you know. She was once one of the most powerful archmagi on Azeroth and a member of the Council of Tirisfal. Unfortunately her mind was badly damaged and she has not left the Hall of the Guardian since. She must like you very much to have given you a gift. If you bring her something special in return, I suspect she will surprise you. She prefers things in threes.
