I'm hoping the Ebon Blade ask him to return and don't just unceremoniously raise him. Nazgrim would willingly come back to save the Horde he loved so much in life anyways, and requesting he join the Horsemen instead of forcing him would highlight the difference between the Knights of the Ebon Blade and the original Scourge.

But either way yay Nazgrim's back!

At first I had no clue what to do here. After a relog and some moving around I noticed the "special action button" being available - clicking it completed the quest.

As other comments noted, make sure you are not mounted.

Does not work for me 5 hours after launch. The icon doesn't appear and "running around" & "not being mounted" as an ally is pretty hard, since this is next to the Vol'Jin funeral.

At 5am i get attacked by Horde players as soon as i try to land since it's not instanced for the Death Knights.

Dismount and move towards the centre of the stones if the action button doesn't appear. Just between the grainbarrels and Thassarian.

If you don't get the icon to appear, you might want to check that you don't have an addon hiding it. Personally I had to deactivate the MoveAnything addon to get the icon to show.

Having read though bug posts on blizzard forums.

This quest can be uncompleteable if you recently faction changed from horde to alliance.

This is because for former horde players the SPOILERS event following Broken Shore is still actively phased into Durotar. This prevents Thassarian from being able to correctly cast the Raise ability on the player which prevents completion.

This explanation seems to make the most sense. In my own experience from about a hour of dancing around the Graveyard: dropping the quest, retaking the quest, mounted, unmounted, running into the zone, out of the zone, etc.

All of that makes no difference if the Horde event is going on behind you.

This quest will be uncompleteble until Blizzard issues a hotfix it seems.

TL:DR Quest is bugged for Horde to Alliance faction changed players until hotfixed.

After you completed the quest create your own Death Gates so you can turn it in.

You'd think Thassarian would, at least, try and cloak the area around him seeing as he's Alliance and is well aware that the Horde/Saurfang would, probably, not approve of the Ebon Blade raising one of their most revered warriors into undeath.

More accurately; however, I'd love for him to do it, since Allies who pick this quest up at level 100 have close to a 100% chance to immediately get gang banged by the squad of Horde players that hang around outside of Org doing PvP.

Getting around to level my DK ALT and first thing I get to do is get farmed by bored 110 Horde toons while trying to complete one flipping quest. Yea.. Great idea Blizz to park in the middle of Horde. Any other class parked in the middle of Alliance? I'd like to return the favor to Horde folks on my server. At least you don't have to fight anything here (except Horde if Alliance).

NOTE: Yea - PVE server folks. NB4 "Roll on a PVE Server"

No, Blizz, that's fine, I don't mind getting repeatedly killed by 110s on a PvP realm in the middle of a cast. Totes cool. I look forward to it, it really makes me feel like a Horseman with all the power that entails.

I am here, almost one year after the Legion Launch and still not able to complete this quest. One day I almost get the cast complete, but some hunter interrupted. Thanks blizzard.

FINALLY! I read all the way back to August 2016 to get information on HOW to make the quest work! Then I moved just a little bit in front of Thassarian, between him and the barrels, and the action button appeared. THANK YOU, Crosshare!

I did not even know yet that I needed an action button to proceed. I had nothing to interact with in the area and thought I failed to receive something from the beginning when I first took the quest. At this point it is not possible to abandon it and go back to start over.

Maybe if Blizzard would add something like "Move toward him and I will give you a way to call him from the grave." Of course it would have been easiest if the action button had been automatically given to you when you accepted this quest but they should at least include wording to give you a clue that your quest is not already broken and you need something you have not been given yet.

I appreciate all the information and posts regarding the problems players have had before and after completing the quest, but my primary reason for coming here was to find out HOW to complete the quest. These players have such sad complaints.

But I have a different complaint: When Loremaster was first added, I had already pretty much completed it because back then you read each quest and followed it to the next. Questing was fun. You spent your time enjoying the lore and the gameplay. It did not require researching almost every single quest to find out where to go and what to do. It did not require addons that do help but might slow down your game. It was not a lot of work, it was just fun. I think looking up Lore and back-stories was a bonus that got lost along the way because it was replaced with looking up how to do quests or level a profession.

Unfortunately, for some reason they quit putting so much effort into each quest; I think maybe because they know players can go to WowHead or other sites and find out what to do so why take the time to explain it or add extra code to make it work now? Fun got replaced with hard work to quest and level your player as well as to level your professions. It isn't the same, fun game any more filled with action and interesting lore. A lot of the people new to the game do not even know much of the lore because they are too busy trying to level up and THAT is now time-consuming work that requires a lot of research. I wonder if now players spend more time researching how to do a quest than they spend actually playing the game and doing the quest!
