All the guides and lame "watch my dumb video" posts is it asking too much for someone to post something like

For Oily Mak'rana
"Best place to "farm" it since it doesn't have a high drop rate is going between 63.12 , 64.17 and 63.27 , 61.97. Both of them are Mak'rana Elder and by the time you kill one the other one spawns. Some of us had no idea wth to kill some of us (who me?) thought we had to fish. I mean it is fish oil right?

Anyway more so than the other crafter quests in this nightmare for crafter expansion this one is exceptionally fishy to me.

All materials can be found in Azsuna.

Hatecoil Scale Patch it's a drop from naga mobs, can be found around 51 61 spot, Oceanus Cove
Oily Mak'rana Chunk it's a drop from mak'ranas, can be found around 62 60 spot, east from Shackle's Den
Salteye Oil it's a drop from murlocks, can be found around 50 38 spot, El'dranil Shallows

Combine all that you got to obtain Piscine Pigment

When I had gathered all of the components and made the pigments the quest showed I needed all of them again, I hearthed back to Dalaran and could turn it in, so if this happens to anyone else go back to Dalaran after you make the pigment to turn it in

This quest is a good one to have while you're doing the questlines around the Nar'thalas Academy in Azsuna:

You'll be fighting plenty of naga for the quest "They Came From the Sea", all of which drop the scale patches you need.
The murlocs you fight for the quest "Our Very Bones" drop the salteye oil you need.
Skipping forward a bit, the quest "Making the World Safe For Profit" has you killing the makrura mobs you need for oily mak'rana chunks.

Once you have five (5) of each, right-click one of the stacks to combine them and create the pigment.

You know, herbs aren't the only ways to obtain ink. Other materials can be inkified.

Slightly related! I've been tinkering with the idea of creating my own type of Darkmoon card. Surely if those troggish carnival people can do it, then so can I.

To do so, we'll need some special reagents. Go down to Azsuna and collect some oils for me, then mill them into a suitable ink.
