Ptr question: anyone know if completion of this quest is mutually exclusive with completion of A Frozen Path Through Time for any one timewalking event?

If you forget to pickup this quest and already did any timewalking dungeon you will still get credit. I pickup after completing one and my log start at 1/5!

The turn-in location appeared to be Shadowmoon Valley. I spent a while chasing it down in vain, only to find the turn-in NPC outside the garrison building close to the flightmaster in the garrison.

I can confirm that if you've already collected 3 seals through other means that this will award you a fourth Seal.

If you don't turn the quest in on the last day of timewalking it will be removed from you quest log - even if you finshed it already.

Just to reiterate, it always rewards a Normal treasure chest, regardless of your current progression/gear level. So it doesn't scale, like chest rewards from Naval missions.

If you're leveling through timewalkers, don't use Elixir of Ancient Knowledge while inside, as it may wear off when you leave the instance, despite clearing without a single death.

So freaking unfair.
On my horde char I did all the 5 BEFORE picking this up and it counted.
On my Alliance char I did the same and it did not count for some reason and I had to do the 5 all over again.

This quest can only be picked up and completed during the TBC timewalking event on any lvl 100 from your dungeon journal or Seer Kazal near your Garrison jukebox to finish 5 Timewalking Dungeons for a normal Iron Fleet Treasure Chest, 500 Valor and a bonus Seal of Inevitable Fate completely irrespective of the weekly cap. This quest expires at 11pm on Monday so make sure you've handed it in before then or you will lose it.

The equivalent quest for the WotLK timewalking event which is available 3-4 weeks after the TBC event is A Frozen Path Through Time and for the Cata Timewalking event available 7 weeks after the TBC one is A Shattered Path Through Time, both with identical rewards and each quest being complete-able once per respective timewalking event. ~Calendar of world events.

Often even if you forget to pick up this quest before doing dungeons, you can pick it up and the credit will automatically be granted to you for dungeons you completed before, however this behavior is not very consistent so it's best you pick up this quest before doing the dungeons to ensure you aren't wasting your time.

If you are unfamiliar with the timewalking event itself:

During the TBC Timewalking dungeon event weekend, you can queue for a random of 6 available 'timewalking' TBC dungeons in the dungeon interface or adventure journal if you are over level 71. While timewalking, your ilvl will be scaled down to 95 and your effective level is 70 for any gear effects that might scale down for a higher level meaning all old legendaries like the MoP cloak and meta gem can be quite powerful, with Timewarped gear dropping from these dungeon bosses being an appropriate ilvl for you level, scaling up to 660/675-Warforged at lvl 100. However, unlike Heirlooms, Timewarped gear does not scale as you level up once you own the item, only to an appropriate level at the time of acquisition.

All bosses are on personal loot, they drop Timewarped Badge and they each have a low chance to drop Reins of the Infinite Timereaver; they will also drop their usual Heroic loot as well such as Primal Nether and the chance for recipes like Recipe: Major Frost Protection Potion. Timewarped Badge can be used to buy some TBC-related items from Cupri at the center of Shattrath city during this TW event, and only during the WotLK event, some WotLK-related items from Auzin in Dalaran and, only during the Cata event, some Cata-related items from Kiatke in Orgrimmar/Stormwind; all vendors sell decent catch-up gear, rep tokens and some exclusive vanity items such as Bridle of the Ironbound Wraithcharger and Reins of the Eclipse Dragonhawk which cost 5000 Timewarped Badge each.

Timewarped Badge are awarded at 5 per boss with 10 from the final boss and 10 completion bonus, with an extra 50 if you have the Call to Arms bonus. There is also an additional 500 from a quest The Swirling Vial you can complete once per TW event from Swirling Timewarped Vial which always drops from the final boss of the first instance you do each event.

The dungeons available for TBC timewalking are:

Magisters' Terrace with 4 bosses = 35Timewarped Badge,
The Arcatraz with 4 bosses = 35Timewarped Badge,
The Shattered Halls with 4 bosses = 35Timewarped Badge,
Mana-Tombs with 3 (+1 if someone uses The Eye of Haramad) bosses = 30/35Timewarped Badge,
The Black Morass with 3 bosses = 30Timewarped Badge,
The Slave Pens with 3 bosses = 30Timewarped Badge.

The items sold by Cupri in Shattrath city are:

For collectors, there are 19,250Timewarped Badge worth of toys and mounts plus another 1250 in unique non-consumables making it 21,500 total, split up into:

Being as it is a tremendous amount of badges to collect, it is highly recommended that you attempt to farm the badges primarily through the weekly quest items granting 500 badges each, and if you wish to expedite acquisition, doing the quest on multiple alts and buying an item each as they're mostly BoA is a good idea to save your sanity grinding out the dungeons endlessly. As there are 2 TW events per 7 weeks and you get the weekly quest item from the first dungeon, you can get approximately ~1075 badges every 7 weeks, per alt with only 1 dungeon completed each event or ~1375 if you only complete 5 dungeons for the weekly path quest each event.

This quest is part of the Burning Crusade Timewalking weekly event. While you can Timewalk during this event on any level 71+ toon, this quest is obviously not available below level 100.

After completing the 5 dungeons required, you obtain the following rewards:

A Iron Fleet Treasure Chest, which is always Normal Mode Hellfire Citadel quality
1 Seal of Inevitable Fate (can be earned in addition to the other 3 you can obtain weekly)
500 Valor

EARNING Timewarped Badges

There is a weekly quest associated with each Timewalking event. This quest is started by an item dropped by the last boss in the first Timewalking dungeon you complete during the event, and rewards 500 badges.
Some further notes:

Once one of these items has been looted by a character, they WILL NOT drop again for the remainder of the week for that character (even if you don't turn in the quest right away) - if you delete it you won't get another!
This quest can be completed once per Timewalking event PER CHARACTER. This means you can do this on alts to get an easy 500 badges (plus however many for the single dungeon) and save up for items you are wanting.

You cannot transfer the badges, but your alts will have to spend what they have earned. That being said, toys, mounts and heirlooms are account bound, and the commendation reputation tokens (e.g. Commendation of The Sha'tar) as well as some other vanity items (e.g. Grizzlesnout's Fang) are BoA and can be mailed to other characters.
Dungeons can be run until the end of the event on Monday night. The event vendors (who are also the quest turn-in NPCs) remain accessible for an additional 24 hours, and they disappear on Tuesday nights following the event.
Dungeons
Maximum earnable: Unlimited Timewarped Badges per timewalking week (30-40 per dungeon)

Dungeons are repeatable over and over to earn Timewalking badges. These can be completed from the start of the event on a Wednesday through to the completion of the event on Monday.
Note that the following level requirements exist to do a Timewalking dungeon:

Burning Crusade Timewalking: Level 71+
Wrath of the Lich King Timewalking: Level 81+
Cataclysm Timewalking: Level 86+

Had an issue with this today. I have completed all the dungeons needed (listed on the quest as 5/5) and yet the quest can't be handed in.

I logged out and back in and this didn't help. Will reply if it fixes somehow.

Update 1: Tried closing the game and rebooting, didn't help. The quest did start at 2/5 as I had already done 2 before picking it up. Going to do another 2 dungeons and see if that completes the quest.

Since Warlords of Draenor has concluded, this quest is no longer available. For the Legion version, see A Burning Path Through Time.

As of this post, the quest ID has not yet been populated on Wowhead's end. It's still correct, however.

Anyone know where the quest giver is for this now in Legion? The NPC in garrison doesn't give anything. Is there a replacement NPC anywhere?

This quest can drop any gear apparently because it droped an 890 trinket for my holy priest with a socket at at that so if you think it's not worth doing think again!

In patch 8.0, this rewards a Cache of Uldir Treasures that is equivalent to normal raid tier (355) when turned in at max level.

Just to say I cant find this Q anywhere in Dornogal, when someone tries to share it im apparently not eligible. I havent done any Timewalks this week however i did do the BT temple run, im wondering if that made me un-eligible? I assumed i could do both?
*Edited to add that apparently its Archivist Frithrun in Dornogal that hands out the Quest now, she had nothing for me sadly :L
