Did it today with only 2 people as a 649 frost DK and a 644 destro lock, here are a few things I picked up

Undertow has 3036k health and is able to be silenced
His spell Tempest does AoE damage to everyone and can be interrupted.
His Crashing Tide spell is a large frontal cone that he channels while slowly spinning clockwise, also knocks back. Cannot be interrupted by normal interrupts, larger interrupts that DKs do not possess may be able to interrupt.

This seems like a lot of hassle for 81 gold and a little XP. Is there some other reason to do this, like achievements, or other bonus rewards? I noticed the Death to Undertow! quest, which has the same name, and rewards a Bounty Payout; is that quest connected to this quest?

Just solo'd this as a Ret-Paladin - 664 ilvl.

Its just a case of moving around the mushrooms and avoiding the heavy rain aoe damage.

Had to do a fair bit of self healing during the fight to keep alive, but wasnt overly difficult.

ProTip: This fight resembles a mini-version of Immerseus from Siege of Orgrimmar.

- Killed him with 2 ppl (ungrouped) - An unknown rogue and my 630 SPriest... doing lousy dps in CoP subspec :p .

BTW: Kill procced Bloody Stack of Invitations auto-reward, which contained 3 invites for The World Famous Ring of Blood! allowing me to bring 2 friends along on that mission :)

Soloed with a 672 ilvl Rogue. Quite easy to do it 1man, by doing the following tactics:

What he does is casting Tempest a lot of times. Let him do it, does measly damage. You have to watch out for his Hailstorm ability. Interrupt/silence it as many times as possible. After a series of Tempest/Hailstorm, he casts Crashing Tide, which is a frontal cone attack. It starts from the position you were at the beginning of casting, then moves it clockwise. So just make sure you stand somewhere in the middle at cast time, then move the rightmost side to totally avoid his ability.

So stand on the middle of a mushroom, close to the boss. Hit him like you bangin' a gronn. Interrupt Hailstorm. If you fail with interrupt, immediately move to another, far position or mushroom (you will be dragged down in a vortex while in water) since it does uber dmg. Avoid Crashing Tide as described to avoid knockback and voilá, he'll be slapped big time.

For rogues: Use leeching poison+shiv+recuperate for extra survival.

Extremely difficult if not impossible if you don't have a steady self heal. Couldn't do it as a Hunter. I can see rogues, paladins, druids, warlocks, shaman, deathknights, priests, and monks having an easy time, maybe Warriors, seems like mages and hunters have the hardest time.

Below is a list of the garrison Bounty quests. These are obtained from visitors to your garrison - each day you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting a Bounty quest NPC. Other possibilities for visitors include Harrison Jones, a trade vendor, a dungeon quest NPC, or a raid quest NPC. The bounty quest NPC is Shadow Hunter Ty'jin (Horde) or Renzik "The Shiv" (Alliance).

You can visit the garrison of friends who have the bounty quest NPC to get the quests (or use the group finder if people have been kind enough to list groups with this NPC).

Bloody Stack of Invitations has a chance to drop from the mini-bosses that are the target of the daily Bounty quest. This includes Tremor, Undertow, etc. as per the chart above. When it drops, only a single Bloody Stack of Invitations drops per group (rather than for every group member). However, the 3 Ring of Blood Invitation inside can be distributed by the person receiving the stack.

Each of the Bloody Stack of Invitations contains 3 Ring of Blood Invitation. The Ring of Blood Invitations are BoE and can be sold or traded on the Auction House.

The Ring of Blood Invitation initiates a quest (The World Famous Ring of Blood!) that involves killing 5 opponents in the Ring of Blood, and rewards Mogor's Cache, containing gold, Apexis Crystals, and follower upgrade tokens/follower armor sets.

Easily solo'd as a Disc Priest in ilvl 596 gear using Defender Illona as a bodyguard. Should pose no problems for the disc priests of the world as long as you do as others have suggested and not stand in the fire or in this case ice/water rain.

He can not be soloed as a hunter - Tried everything said here including keep running and running but the 9 k damage per second waves he sends out killed me everytime

Not a hard kill for a Rogue once you get the rhythm. Used Leeching poison and Recuperate to keep health up. Tried disrupting his Hailstorm at first but found it was easier just to shift to the side and keep hitting him. Used Sprint with Glyph of Blurred Speed to move to another mushroom when there were 2 or more hailstorms on the mushroom I was standing on. Then it was just a matter of patience...

Description

Good day to ya, commander!

I have bad news.

We've been contracting out some spy work to the local fisherman - we pay 'em some coin, they take their boats out north of Umbrafen and see what the Iron Horde's up to. Win-win, right?

Well, it turns out... no. Every boat that goes out never comes back. Apparently this giant water elemental, Undertow I think it was, is murdering the snot out of everyone that passes through.

Any chance you could clear it out for us, commander?
